I have two 12 gauge shotguns, a couple of Arex nine mils, and .22 and .32 handguns for plinking, so I don't think we'll be buying any more. But as you said, Walla, getting ammo is tricky, and I pray we have enough. It seems everyone I know is readying themselves as best as they can in case November 3rd goes bad ... which, given the Dems penchant for cheating on a breathtaking scale, may well happen.

God, please save the Union. At sixty-eight years old I'm getting a little long in the tooth to do engage in armed combat (again), but if needed, my wife and I are good to go.

And yet we have Christians on this very site who are for it, and proudly say so.

Some of you may (or may not) know I'm a writer with several published novels out, and about twenty years ago the Lord gave me an idea for an end-times novel with a plotline that frankly blew me away. Bear in mind, most of the stuff I do has been been published by Christian houses--the exception being Pitfall, which I did under the pen name Cameron Bane and was published by a secular house--but I wasn't sure how it would be received by Christians.

Anyway, a Christian house did finally pick it up and it came out in 2010 as Heading Home. When that house finally folded and the rights were returned I put it up on Kindle myself as Last Call.

Over the years it's gotten a lot of great Amazon reviews, blessing most Christians while sending some into nearly an apoplectic fit. 

Short answer, yes, and many times. Oddly enough the majority of these occurred overseas; why, I have no idea. I've witnessed miracles of both the mind and the body, including seeing God put brand new eyes in a baby born with none, and giving new skin to to a man covered in scar tissue from when he was badly burned as a boy.

I know it makes a lot of Christians angry to hear of things like this, but that's not my problem.

I guess what really gets me is there are posters on this site who I suppose are members of that "false church." They make sport of us here as they gleefully say they are going to work for, and actually vote for, a party that boos the very mention of God, that embraces abortion, racism, "transgenders," Marxism, socialism, pedophilia, you name it. In other words they've crossed into the enemy's camp, arms spread wide, with a hallelujah on their lips and blood dripping from their hands.

I simply don't get it. I just don't. Maybe I'm not supposed to. But for pity's sake, are there NO standards in the Body of Christ anymore?

Oh, I'm not scared; simply disillusioned with Christians who are openly cheering the destruction if our nation.

 This isn't a slam on this site, nor on (most) of the people who post here, but I think my time here on Worthy is drawing to a close.

Don't ask me why, but the closer we get to this election, the more my spirit is getting disquieted. It's almost like I can feel the war going on the heavens, not just over America, but the entire world.

And at a time like this, when Christians should be pulling together, there are people here who are openly cheering political candidates that champion every dark practice the Bible condemns.

Am I oversensitive to this? Maybe. Probably. But as I approach my seventh decade, the idea of my having to pick up my gun and fight for this nation once more holds no appeal. But as I said, I've done it before, and if required, I'll do it again.

In the meantime, I'm weaning myself from most social media for the foreseeable future.

I second what Who Me said. My wife and I are published writers with five novels out to date. The first three (published as John Robinson, although my wife Barb wrote at least half) are a trilogy featuring a newly-saved Christian PI) titled Until the Last Dog Dies, When Skylarks Fall, and To Skin a Cat. They came out through a Christian house, David C. Cook/RiverOak.

The next novel, Heading Home, is also under my name, and is a stand-alone end times thriller published through Sheaf House. When the rights were returned to us a few years later we put it up on Kindle as Last Call.

Finally our newest novel, Pitfall (that's a partial shot of the cover featuring the title) is the first of a new suspense series featuring a wounded Army Ranger, and came out a couple years ago through WildBlue Press, a general market (that is, non-Christian) house.

All that said, if you take Who Me's advice you'll be miles ahead of the pack.

Simple answer? Look no farther than the DNC platform and the Democratic party.

How supposed Bible-believing Christians  can cheer, support, and champion this satantic madness utterly baffles me.

When this thing is over (if ever) I think the only churches lest will be Joel Osteen-type mega-circuses and home fellowships. Everything else will be forced out of existence.

As a kid my wife was raised Presbyterian, and I was in the Disciples of Christ (a very liberal, awful bunch, at least the church I was in).

In the early 70s, and through some unusual circumstances, we both got saved and Spirit-filled in the old Jesus movement. We're now pushing 70 and have been attending full-gospel fellowships ever since.

Your call, if course, but if it was me I'd leave that apostate joint like my hair was on fire. Life is simply too short to put up with lousy churches.

Before I enlisted I could shoot, but the Army taught me how to shoot well. 

Over the past intervening decades I've kept up that proficiency; it might come in handy again.

Over the past few years I've come to the conclusion that sometimes pacifism is a just prettier name for cowardice. But then I'm an old Army vet. What do I know?

LOVED Tull. A lot of people think their most famous album, Aqualung, was a slam against Christianity, but it was in fact a slam against the Church of England; big difference! Matter of fact, the editor of my Joe Box suspense trilogy was convinced Ian Anderson was in fact a strong Christian. If you listen to the final track, Wind Up, I think Ian's belief is borne out.

My beautiful wife and I have already decided we're saying no to both. As an Army combat vet I'm fully cognizant of what the term "taking a last stand" means, and we're ready for that. 

And at 68, "life in prison" doesn't mean that much.

Years ago I was standing around after our church service talking with some folks and the subject of firearms came up.

One of the men, a newlywed, said he'd never own one, not even to defend his wife. She was standing right there, and it seemed she'd misunderstood.

"Honey," she laughed (but it was forced). "You mean you'd let some man rape me or kill our kids, and you'd not to anything to defend us?"

"Nope," he said. "I figure it would just be God's will, and it wouldn't be my place to stop it."

"Now Benny," one of the men said. "Surely you don't mean that."

"Every word," Benny said with a nod.

His wife took a step back, face white with shock. Then turning without another word, she walked away. Two days later she left him.

All that to say that any man, ANY man who thinks that way is either hooked up to hell, or an utter coward. Either way he isn't worth a bucket of warm spit.

Again, there is a world of difference in a man choosing to be a martyr for the faith, and a man standing idly by while a rapist violates his wife. The first man is a hero, the other is a vile coward.

If someone can't tell the difference, then I'm at a loss to explain it.
