  1. My understanding of the new testament is that you shoukdnt have the death penalty. Personally I woukdnt execute even my worst enemies. From what I remember there is a story somewhere in the Bible where Jesus said" " Let him who is without sin cast the first stone" for something that the old testament law would condemn het to death. Now somewhere in the new testament Jesus sais that he did not come to destroy the law but to confirm it. How do you explain that? Also, I have another question and that is can someone reason for me why did God change from fight your enemies to love your enemies? It's a question many people ask when they talk about Christianity.
  2. Peace. When I was reading the rules for posting while registering it was written that you can't complain against the authorities. The authorities can be bad at times. Sometimes some laws are bad. I mean look at Nazi Germany or Russia under Stallin. Are you not supposed to try and change it to better? Is it ok to publicly disobey the law if you think that that law is very bad? Again think about nasi Germany'laws. I personally believe that mental health services in Melbourne are doing some terrible things to me and others. What, should I not fight them just because they are a government body? Some answers would be much appreciated! Thanks
  3. Peace. I don't know much about the other gospels. The gospels many people claim are about Jesus teachings but are not found in the current Bible. Who decided wich gospels where to be included and wich where not to be included? How can you trust that other gospels are not true? Thanks
  4. Well, if I was to start praying(by the way I intent on going to Uniting church in Melbourne this weekend), should I say dear God Yahweh .......... In the name of Jesus Christ amen? Or some other option where Jesus is God? If Jesus is God then how do you pray? Also I need to work out wether I am to believe in trinitarianism or unitarianism! It's hard working it out on your own. Thanks
  5. I am interested in your answer to this very important question and that is: Is God Yahweh or Jesus? Wich one of those two names is Gods name? Or is it both? In any case can you provide evidence please? Thanks
  6. Mathijah, if Jesus of the bible is close to accurately described in the bible then I would say he was a good and brave men like Socrates. Remember that Socrates died a same death due to refusing to accept the wrongful decission of the courts. When I say dame death I mean as an innocent person .Socrates maintained his morals and ethics all the way like Jesus did, no different. You see I find it hard to believe everything in the bible. However a lots of stuff in the bible is I think spot on truth. Thanks
  7. In the past I have had some interest in Jehovah's witnesses. I also went to the unitarian church for couple of months. I have known a uniting church minister and have gone to some bible study classes. I am not a Christian, not yet anyway. I have joined this forum in order to join about Christianity from Christians themselves. I am still trying to work out what's the truth. Is it a specific religion true or is the truth best represented by Omnism( Omnism is a belief that all religions contain some truth). Right now I would like you to tell me what denomination do you belong to and why so that if I decide to go to exclusive Christian church I can make up my mind from the ones you go to. Thanks
  8. Thank you very much everyone. I still have to ask what about the verses that say that wages of sin is death and all this other stuff that Jehovah's witnesses talk about? Thanks
  9. Hi everyone. I have a question that I really need to find the answer to and that is does the bible teach eternal non existence as a final punishment or eternal torment? It seems as if you can sort of interpret the bible as either. But then again maybe you can't. Please enlighten me with your knowledge! Thanks
