  1. Willa's post in BIBLE PROMISES was marked as the answer
Some of the verses you quoted are out of context.  For instance, many of those blessings were promised to Israel if they obeyed God's commandments.   John PRAYed that they would be in health and prosper even as their souls prospered.  It is not a promise.
God does heal.  People also die and Christians will immediately be in the presence where there is no more suffering or tears.  But the truth is that our bodies are decaying.  Disease entered the world when Adam sinned.
We are promised that when we seek His Kingdom and His righteousness first, all our basic needs of food and clothing will be met.  But when we seek God first, our priorities change so that our true wealth is spiritual blessings.  Many of us can tell you that we can have real joy and peace in Christ even while we are suffering.  Being content with what we have gives immeasurable peace and joy.  Having real fellowship with the Living God gives us an abundant life, full and enriching.
Phl 4:11 NASV Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.  Phl 4:12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.  Phl 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
Rom 8:16 ESV The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,  Rom 8:17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. Rom 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
These are also promises--that we will suffer as Christ suffered, even that we will be persecuted and treated the way He was.
The key is to meet each challenge with thanksgiving and worship, knowing that we serve a powerful and merciful God Who loves us and died for us.  Whether we see the answers to our prayers or not, He is worthy of worship and praise, and we can still be thankful for God sending His Son to suffer on our behalf.
I am sorry for your grief.  It is not easy to watch those we love to go through great suffering.  People often question God at times like that.  But you must remember that God demonstrated his love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us!  He does love you and your mom.
  2. Willa's post in God works in mysterious ways was marked as the answer
Rom 11:33 ESV Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
This verse also comes close to the phrase in the hymn.  So while  the thought is Biblical , it can't be found in the Bible in so many words.

  3. Willa's post in Death, Hades and the lake of fire? was marked as the answer
There is no purgatory or second chances. The souls of the dead in Christ are immediately in His Presence upon "death". Their bodies return to dust until the resurrection when they will receive a spiritual body like Christ's. Their names are written in the Lamb's book of Life and the second death has no power over them.
The souls of those without Christ stay in the place of the dead--sheol, hades,--until the great white throne judgement when they will be judged according to their works. They don't linger around as ghosts either. Those who have rejected Christ will go to the lake of fire.
  4. Willa's post in Why is there so much contention and killing over interpetation of God/ was marked as the answer
God is able to use even our contentions. Barnabus and Paul disagreed about taking Mark with them. As a result twice as much was accomplished by splitting their ministries. And they all became very close having weathered this. Mark was very useful to Paul when he was in prison. Barnabus also had a ministry that was blessed. Christian love does bind us together unless pride gets in the way. And pride does go before a fall. It makes us unteachable and causes us to become unable to back down from our positions. But God has ways of humbling us. He does chasten and discipline those He loves.. God does use our differences. We just need to appreciate each other for those differences as being different parts of the body of Christ, or at least respect the reasons for our differences. We also need to recognize those who are not genuine Christians. By this all men shall know you are My disciples, if you have love one for another. John 13:35
