  1. What are some of the things that you do to have such a solid time with God?  Asking as one who really needs to reconnect with God in my prayer life.

Any advise would really be appreciated.

Read everything Jesus said to His disciples.  Then see what men of God did/do.

Sep 22, 2008 ... Little of the word with little prayer is death to the spiritual fife. Much of the word with little prayer gives a sickly life. Much prayer with little of t.

Thanks Jeff, this has help greatly.

I open my whole heart to God.I turn to Him about everything big and small in my life.I have faith that my prayer will be answered even if it is not the answer that I want and I know that he hears all my prayers.I sit back and let God have total control of my life and I do not try to intercept and do what I want because things are not going my way.

Bopeep any advice on now not to try to intercept as I think i am probably guilty of doing this way to often.

  2. Thank you for all the replies, they have all help greatly.

I don't really think it has anything to do with how long you pray for, or how long you read your bible for, but just remembering the Lord.  We remember Him in the bad times, sure.  But what about the sweet times?  The funny times?  The exciting times?  Only, our attitude must be right.  We walk with God knowing that He is holy, and that by His standards, though He has revived our spirits, our souls still have a long way to go, in terms of seperating ourselves from the flesh, and crucifying it.  It's not going to happen overnight.  But one should be able to share a funny moment with God. "Lord Jesus, thank you for that!  That was sooooo funny!"  Gratitude is a big attitude corrector, especially in suffering. "You're with me in this, and You're taking me through.  Thank You, God!"  However tempted we may be to complain.  If we rely in FAITH on Him, our soul will catch up more and more to our spirit.  And we being grateful to the Lord shows our faith in Him, regardless of what our emotions are telling us.

Also, it makes a difference what we are doing with the time we don't spend with God.  What are we looking at or concentrating on?  Is it something that will edify my spirit better to commune with Him?  Or is it distracting me away from Him?

Be warned though:  taste and see that the Lord is good!  The more of Him you taste with your spirit, the more you will realise your true and immense hunger and thirst for Him.  You will not be able to get enough!  You will become insatiable.  That's what eternity is for ;)

Coming from a soul who is learning to catch up.  Blessings.

Zion really liked this post, especially the underlined part, I guess the best way of putting it is I feel a bit dry, and I need to taste the gracious goodness of God.

  3. Ashamed to say that not only I, but two friends and my dad did not think about making sure it was completely in park, it was out of gear.   As I couldn't get the engine to start so after calling the tow truck driver, it was tow from a Wal-mart about twelve miles from where I live to the local dealer, the driver just knock the truck into park and pull the key out, umh   DUH!   As Bill Engvall would said HERES YOUR SIGN.   The truck is still at the dealers as we decided to be extra safe and they are checking out the ignition.

  4. Romans 8 v 1-3:

1Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do [that is, overcome sin and remove its penalty, its power] being weakened by the flesh [man’s nature without the Holy Spirit], God did: He sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful man as an offering for sin. And He condemned sin in the flesh [subdued it and overcame it in the person of His own Son],

Is argument a sign of a fleshly desire to feel superior?  Is there such a thing as being too spiritual?  Are those who get caught up in the cares of this world able to be led by the Spirit of God?

Let us reason together and with God, as it were, that we would encourage one another in our walk with Him :)

Is argument a sign of a fleshy desire to feel superior?  Sometimes, but at times among believers in friendship it can also be sharpening of the mind:  Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.  Proverbs 27:17

Is there such a thing as being too spiritual?  Yes and before I knew Jesus as my Savior, boy could I bragged to God how great I was, but this is more of what it is to be spiritually dead, that is without Christ, Ephesians 2:1-10.  Now that I know Christ, He is my only Hope.  For all my righteousness is as filthy rags before God, Isaiah 64:6.

Are those who get caught up in the cares of this world able to be lead by the Spirit of God?  It depend to what amount.  We all as believers can be carnal.  But when looking at the parable of the Sower, Jesus state their are 4 types of ground (the human heart) the seed fell upon, and only one was good.  Talking about the 3rd ground Jesus states the seed fell among thorns in Luke 8:7; later in the parable Jesus describe this ground as:  And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard; go forth, and are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.  Luke 8:14   This type of ground is spoken of in Hebrews 6:4-8.  One way to tell if it is a believer is if they are living worldly God will chasten His children, Hebrews 12:5-11.  So the Christian living worldly are being lead by the Spirit (in a sense) into the Father's Woodshed.

  5. So after coming out to my truck on first break and trying to get the key out of it the key is now jam in the ignition  and now can't get it out and it won't start, please prayer that somehow before I leave I can get it started without having to call my dad and waking him up.

  6. 25)   For I would not, brethren that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part is happened too Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.       26)   And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:     27)   For this is My covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins,    28)   As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.     29)   For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.                                                              Romans 11:25-29

Yes God does truly love the Jewish people they are his eternal love:  The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.  Jeremiah 31:3

  7. intoI simply don't believe any of the '90 Minutes in Heaven' type stories.  Some of them are total fabrications and, I believe, some of them are dreams experienced while semi-comatose.  The Bible is clear on this; "It's given onto man one time to die and then the Judgment'. What do y'all think?

What really scare me, is when people claimed to have a near death experience and say they walked into the light; I may be wrong but have always wonder maybe satan is up to some of his tricks:  And no marvel; for even satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.  II Corinthians 11:14

  8. Back on April 24, 1997, in Geary County KS, between the town of Milford and Junction City and about a mile from Ft. Riley 3 Rottweilers killed a 11 year boy as he and his little brother were attempting to get on a school bus to go to school.  The school bus driver with a bus load of kids had to keep her door shut to protect the rest of the children.  And this should never have had happen as many people in this small rural housing area had notify the police several times about these three dogs roaming around all the time.  The dogs were known to chase GI, on the top of their cars for safety.  After the death of the boy the owners were finally prosecuted.

  9. I love dogs, I am a foster mum for a rescue and a home boarder for dogs as well as owning 3 of my own. I have also helped to rehabilitate several with severe problems BUT these dogs need to be put to sleep and the owner needs to be jailed. That attack could have killed a child or a less strong  person and the woman had no right to take them into a public place

I do not remember reading why she dropped the leash. It sounds like those dogs tore that man apart.Very sad.

Just read other articles on this and all but one, states that they had an argument so she dropped the leash and let the 2 dogs at him.  One article stated that the 2 pit bulls already had a bad reputation in the neighborhood, having already killed three other dogs.

  10. If you think you are sinless you need to face reality and realize you need a savior.read 1 John 1:8-10

If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

    Amen~!

    I will second that Amen!

  11. I am a former christians , and now believe that God does not exist. I think people should have a open mind and learn about why people that  have this belief. That are great book called " How something came form nothing" . I would like to ask you some questions? How can you people believe in a  god that has killed children? How about Noah's Ark ?  How come the most Atheist nation are the most peaceful to live  in. I think people have the fear and want to believe that this life is not end . Mainly because we do not want to say good bye forever to our family.

I not here to causes disrespect at all   just wanted to give you guys some insight about what people believe on the other fence

ou mean peaceful counries like North Korea, China, Cuba, Russia and ALL muslim countries?  Yep, just peachy living in any of those.  Interesting username.

Muslim believe in the same God as you do , so that is not Atheist counties  . Counties like Finland and Sweden very low crime rate Germany is another one.

Yes, Muslim believe in the same God as Jews and Christians do. Allah is the  Aramaic  word for God  in Hebrew EL. It is just like saying Jesus or Yeshua  same name just in a  different language.

The first five books  in all three  religions are  the same called Torah "law" ,and i am pretty sure  all of the Old Testament is the same but i will have to double check on that. It is the New Testament  causes the division in the three beliefs.

Hello Slobpig, and welcome to Worthy.  I wonder if you got your username from the Bible  But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again, and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.   II Peter 2:22

Many have tried to use this verse above along with the 2 verses before it, to try to prove one can lose their salvation.  But I also remember a Pastor preaching on this subject stating that Christian are never describe as a dog or pig, but sheep.  So that by stating that a dog turned to it own vomit, and a pig washes in her mire; Peter is simply stating what John wrote:  They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not of us.  I John 2:19  For we as sheep are feed by Scripture, not the vomit of the world that the ungodly feed on.  Also as a sheep of God, I have been washed in the precious blood of the Lamb of God:  18)  Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;   19)  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot:   I Peter 1:18-19
