I am uncomfortable refering to Him as "divine gentleman" because the Bible uses a lot of names/descriptions to refer to Him. That is not one of them. The word "gentleman" has to do with good breeding, family or social position. I know, it has other meanings as well but none of them define God. The terms that are in the scriptures best describe Him and His attributes. just my two cents...

Well, sin is what separated man from God (the fall). But what keeps man from God now since there is a way to Him. There are all sorts of reasons but when speakign about atheists, they don't believe they are sinful and therefore no need for God especially since they don't believe in His existence.

Hi. I'm new here and this is my very first reply I picked an easy topic for my first post, LOL. The answer to the lead post's question, what is the church is THE REDEEMED. It is the body of believers, the saved. Because in English we use the word "church" as a verb, i.e. going to church today, not everybody sitting in "church" are "THE CHURCH." In fact, it is more likely than not that there are non redeemed sitting in churches across the country alongside the redeemed.
