  3. 1 Corinthians was written by Paul to a church that had lost it's way. The church at Corinth was allowing customs and rituals of their people to come into the church. Paul was using this one person as an example of how to deal with people who have put sin first yet claim to have something from God. Sexual sin is distroying the church right now, but it's happening one person at a time. The lust of the flesh in many cases is stronger than one's desire to remain close to God. Paul was trying to put this church back on the path to righteousness.

  4. I would like to ask everyone to pray for my family and myself. The devil has really been attacking those in my family. I want the hand of the devil removed from my family. Every year seems to be worse then the last one.

    Thank you

  5. It sounds to me like you do believe, but it also sounds like your human side is trying to keep you from having faith in something it can't see, smell or touch. Jesus asked, "who do men say that I am?" Peter then listed all the people he had heard people call Jesus. then Jesus asked "but who do you say that I am? Peter said, "you are the son of the living God." Jesus told Peter that God the Father had revealed this to him. Look in your heart. The Bible says, seek and you shall find, Knock and it will be open to you. God must listen to a person repenting of their sins. Jesus loves you. I will be praying for you.

  6. I realize this topic has been done before, but as it is appearing on the forum again there seems to be reason to bring it up. So what do you guys think, yes or no? Why or why not?

For myself, I came in as an evolutionist and I have seen no reason to change that position. I believe that God created everything, is omnipotent and omniscient, and in my mind this entire thing is about method or mechanism of creating. God could have done it in any way, the evidence suggests this particular way.

The reason I am saved is because of the following:

rom 10:9-11 if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”

I believe that Jesus is Lord and that He was resurrected from the dead on the third day.

Let me start by saying, I have only read the post by the OP and only read part of the first response to this questions.

I think if you look at the history of the earth and the animals and plants on it, you can see how those type of things have evolved. Animals change and adapt to climate changes etc. But to say that humans came from money's goes against everything in Christian History. People grow and adapt to there what is around them, but they don't grow wings to fly or gills to swim. So to answer your question you can believe in evolution but for plants and animals. However God created man from the "dust of the earth".

  7.

What else can I say, except the code has finally been cracked. You may be thinking yeah Ive heard this before, but you will be shocked at how accurate it is. I will not accept money for this, just need people to know the truth. The following solution is uncannily precise mathematically and biblically as far as the numbers match, and is just plain ASTONISHING. It is a solution that reveals the number 666 and 7000 (both found in revelations and in the same time frame, the End Times) And the number 70 as well(also in the end times), all simultaneously. I only hope this finding gets spread to biblical scholars that understand the bible and numbers as well, so that followers of Christ can be notified of this, so please help me to let it be known. People have been trying to crack the 666 code for a very long time. As most of us may know,Rev 13:18 states "This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666."

1741,1747,1753,1759.      These are consecutive prime numbers. Astonishingly, the only four consecutive prime numbers with a difference of six in between them...This never repeats again throughout the primes.(go ahead check) These are the only three consecutive 6"s(mark of the beast) found between four consecutive primes in all the primes.

NOW, strangely enough, add these four prime numbers, and you get 7000, which refers to Rev. 11:13.  "And at that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven."

Also, The 7000 Years. In the holy scriptures, the Lord indicates that he will deal with man on this earth for 7000 years before he creates a new heaven and new earth.

Now, the two witnesses of God during the end times as discussed in Rev. 11 will prophesize and fight against evil, and after their testimony the Beast(666) will rise and overcome them, then afterwards will ascend into heaven and strike fear into the people,  and a great earthquake will kill 7000 people in the City...Here is Rev 11 "1 I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, "Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count the worshipers there. 2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. 3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." 4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. 5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. 6 These men have power to shut up the sky so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want. 7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them. 8 Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. 9 For three and a half days men from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. 10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth. 11 But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. 12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on. 13 At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. 14 The second woe has passed; the third woe is coming soon"

Yet ANOTHER solution and match to the bible, is when you add each individual digit from these four primes (1+7+4+1+1+7+4+7+1+7+5+3+1+7+5+9), you get 70. This may refer to the seventy weeks in Daniel 9" 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

Freaked out yet?  I know I was when I came across this discovery. All of these numbers refer to the end times. May have been Gods will for me to discover this solution so I can help, Christ will work through you if you acknowledge him as savior. During the time I found out this code I was in a state of extreme mourning over the loss of my grandma, and so I grew closer to God, and wanted to contribute somehow in a positive way. I have always had an intuitive knack for numbers(although my grades werent great in the past lol), and looked up many of peoples attempts at cracking the code online, and thought well hey, maybe if someone could just figure out an absolute solution at cracking the code so that all these other attempts wouldnt throw people off, and people can be made aware of it, I can help the followers of Christ. Somehow I took interest in prime numbers, and noticed an odd sequence between the primes as you counted higher, and thought hey maybe there are four consecutive primes with three consecutive sixes in between them...sure enough i found the numbers, and from there discovered the rest.

Also, 10 times 7 is 70... Rev 13 states "13 The dragon[a] stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had 10 horns and 7 heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. 3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast. 4 People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?”
5 The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months. 6 It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7 It was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.
10 “If anyone is to go into captivity,
        into captivity they will go.
If anyone is to be killed[c] with the sword,
with the sword they will be killed.”[d]
This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people.
The Beast out of the Earth
11 Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. 14 Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. 16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.
18 This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.[e] That number is 666."

Another thing to note,  is that credit cards and debit cards have four sets of four digit numbers, like this set of primes...and it is said money is the root of all evil. Just a thought...just be discerning with this issue, its a greedy world. And whatever "mark" is needed to buy or sell, DO NOT ACCEPT.

I suspected someone else trying to take credit for this finding, because i had to move out of my apartment in Corpus Christi, Bay Club Apts(Wasnt on the lease),and a guy that was helping to bag my stuff for me tried taking the notebook containing this solution... i had kept it in my notebook for some time and did some bible studying, but never told anyone in depth about it until now...All I want to do is raise awareness as a fellow devout Christian, to advise all true believers to pray and repent hard, and most of all we all need to give Thanks to Jesus for dying for our sins. I truly believe the End Times are upon us, and thought it would be foolish to not share, but it took some good studying and Gods guidance helped me. The nonbelievers and practicers of false teachings will not make it, unless we can help them to the path of righteousness as contained in the bible. Otherwise we are at war Spiritually. God bless us all, keep praying and repenting, and dont let evil take away your faith.

I must admit, I'm not sure if it's me or the way it is writen, but I don't have a clue what you are trying to say. You are throwing out number after number, can you sum it up or something? It just doesn't seem like you are getting to your point.

  8. 1.   Ok... I agree???  I wasn't being argumentative, it's just that you mentioned Paula White taking tithes from people, which I don't think biblically she's allowed to do...

    2.   Malachi 3 talks about tithes going into the Lord's storehouse that there may be food in His house.  I didn't say it but the Bible does :)

    3.   Do give an offering to the poor, I'm sure the Lord would be delighted!

    4.   I also agree that tithing doesn't have to be money - in fact it just has to represent 10% of your income; that's why in the old testament they would tithe animals and herbs and stuff.  If by using our time we bring food into the storehouse - all good

I was just trying to present my thoughts in an orderly fashion, let's not argue :)

No worries, your fine. I know there are some that for what ever reason watch her and other preachers on TV and they need money to opperate. It's always about the money. Doesn't seem like you get to many churches preaching about tithing your time. I brought it up to a Bishop in my former church and he said, "it's a great idea but less not make it a doctrine!" I was in disbeliefe. The reason I brought Paula White into it, was because I was flipping channels one day and ran across her show while she was trying to get people to send their money to her and she was using the First Fruits message. I have been hearing it more and more as of late.

  9. First of all, Paula White isn't the pastor of a church.  Tithes are to be brought into the storehouse of the Lord that there may be food in His house (Malachi 3v10); the bread is for those who live in that house .  Not to one individual.  So we all share of that which is stored up; we bring to share.

Secondly, if God really did tell Paula White to collect money in this manner, how is she using it in her ministry?  Is she feeding and clothing the poor, for instance?  What has God told her to do with it?

I never said Paula White was a pastor. Second it just feels like a money grab. When the women brought the oil and washed Christ with it the 12 got upset and said she should have sold it and given the money to the poor. If i want to give tithes to the local homeless shelter instead of a mega (millionare) paster, teacher, tel-a-watever. what is wrong with that. Third if all this people who have their hand out really care about your soul why don't they tell you to tithe your time?

  10. What I mean is:

As the elect of GOD,we should walk and work with GOD,but how to walk and work with an invisible GOD,and how to know GOD’s will,to identify what’s voice is from GOD,and how to know what kind of prayer will be accepted by GOD,we should find the instruction only in BIBLE,not somewhere else,of course,we shoud seek the advice from the others ,but how to know that advice is GODly ,we should compare it with the BIBLE

And finally we should issue our Testimony, but how to know that Testimony is GODly ? we should compare it with the BIBLE

So we can not add some extra to Christian faith

We are the Witness of the Gospel/Bible

But the  Gospel/Bible is also the evidence of cfm that we are the believer/follower of GOD,too

Everything must line up with the Word of God. For example, if someone feels god is telling them to steel. That would not be God because the Word of God says "thou shalt not steel". Walking with God is like any other relationship, a strong bond with Christ is built over time. Pray and read your Bible, then pray somemore. Christ wants to be your best friend. I hope this helps.

  11. Proverbs 3: 9-10 Honor the Lord with your wealth and the first fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine. KJV

Proverbs 3: 9-10 Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; (v.10) then your barns will be filled to overflowing and your vats will brim over the new wine. NIV

There are around 72 other verses in the Bible referring to First Fruits, or to use an older term Tithing. Paying Tithes to God has been around since the fall of man. Cain killed Able because his offering wasn’t accepted by God and Able’s was.

Able gave because he wanting too. Cain gave because he had to. Able chose the best of what he had for God and Cain just picked something but saved the best for himself.

Tithing or paying Tithes is not in question. It is a sound doctrine laid down by God since the beginning of time and it endures to this day. However First Fruits is a term that is fairly new. Churches over the past few years have started using “First Fruits” as appose to “Tithing” I believe because it sounds more modern and Tithes sound old fashioned.

    I have 2 questions:

    Question 1

When is the First Fruits teaching taken too far? Paula White has said and is not shy about asking people to send her an entire year’s salary once every 10 years. She will ask you to send her a weeks salary every month and so on. All of this with the promise that God will give the money back to you in spades.

    Question 2

Churches need funds to operate and to pay the bills. However In the First Fruits message or tithing I never hear anyone talk about tithing your time. After all everyday is an increase is it not? So why do you suppose the churches don’t promote this doctrine as well as the one’s that help them pay the bills?

I look forward to hearing your thought on this subject.

  12. Pope Francis assures atheists: You don’t have to believe in God to go to heaven

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/pope-francis-assures-atheists-you-dont-have-to-believe-in-god-to-go-to-heaven-8810062.html

    what's your opinion?

although i am not Catholic, but it is really shaking my faith

    bcs he is Pope

This is an interesting point. My mother-in-law past away on the 26th of Oct. She was Catholic and a Deacon from the local church performed the funeral. He said at the funeral that he believed that all gods lead to the one god. As I am not Catholic I don't know if this is just his view or if it is a view that the Catholic church as a whole is preaching.

  13. First I want to thank everyone for their thoughts on this subject. I have concluded as I assumed when I posted this thread, the spirit is the true source for the leading of God's will. You can read a book but unless you have a relationship with the source you are still just reading a book. With all the the people on Worthy and the knowledge that everyone brings to this question and to still not be able to come to an agreement points out the need for us all to operate in the spirit more and in the flesh less.

    God Bless.

    Thread can be closed.

  14. I must post a companion addition to the "Christianity in Identity Crisis" posts...

I do not advocate blaming your pastor, congregation, denomination, etc. nor setting out on your own to try to resolve that identity crisis... for this is essentially how all the divisions played themselves out not to mention quite a number of cults.

The idea is not to go off on a tare deciphering what the Bible says based on your own or the limited understanding of others as to what the Bible says but rather to learn what the Bible actually says and accepting it and living under that authority of divine truth.

Neither am I trying to do as revisionist denomination leaders or cult leaders have done with a "follow me" campaign to develop followers after themselves. I say follow Christ, follow the Bible. I am only a fellow follower.

Talk with your pastor in a non confrontational manner. Ask if there is any way we could be following the Bible better. Listen. Test all things (including their answers) by scripture as I say repeatedly to the point of redundancy...

    1 Thessalonians 5:21 (NASB95)

    21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good;

    1 John 4:1 (NASB95)

1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

    Acts 17:11 (NASB95)

11 Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

    2 Timothy 3:16-18 (NASB95)

    16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

    2 Peter 1:20-21 (NASB95)

20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation,

21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

    John 16:13 (NASB95)

13 “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

If there is no answer or the answer is "this is how we have always done it taught it or said it" or "theologians can't agree on what the Bible says on..."

Consider joining a Bible based congregation rather than one that only claims to be.

And study the Bible as the most precious thing in this life you have. Seek out your own spiritual gifts and use them in ministry to the Body of Christ as we are all priests before God every one of us believers.

    1 Peter 2:3-9 (NASB95)

3 if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.

4 And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God,

5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

6 For this is contained in Scripture: “Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone, And he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.”

7 This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, “The stone which the builders rejected, This became the very corner stone,”

8 and, “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed.

    9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

i see what your trying to say, but Jesus saw what was wrong with the church of his day. What would you have said if Jesus had came to you way back in the day and he told you the things he saw in the church of his day that was wrong? Would you tell him to go talk to the high priest? I understand that the Bible sets down clear guide lines for dealing with problems in the church, however we also need to remember that their are wolves in sheeps clothing.

"Seek ye first the Kingdom of God" I would say pray and fast over it and see what God would have you do. Trust in God not man.

  15. NASB is my personal book of choice.

I think it benefits a person to understand the basics of language and how translation happens. Depend on the Spirit to open your eyes as to spiritual truth, first and foremost, but the more you know about what you are reading, the faster and deeper you can catch a revelation. And yes, we must trust that God has preserved His truth through the years. Legalism comes in when you look through a translation to search for mistakes or to get a "special" revelation no one has had before.

God will never tell you that 2 + 2 suddenly = 5 to explain away a supposed contradiction, and if you think you hear a revelation telling you 2 + 2 = 5 then that is the time to use a little logic/education and test what you heard. He doesn't expect much from us but He expects common sense. As you do your due diligence to understand the basics, and you reach out to those talented in that area of study for follow up, you will stay on the right track.

    Thank you

  16.

It pretty much comes down to what you put your faith in?  A lot of people like to claim there are errors in all translations, and I don't find this useful because it causes people to doubt how trustworthy the Bible is?  I don't trust historians when they make claims about how the Bible was put together, because many of them have an agenda.  You made a statement that historians have shown the KJV was created in a certain way, but gave no sources.  How do I know this is true, and that your sources are legitimate?  How about telling us where you got your information?

I use only the KJV Bible.  I have already given reasons why I don't trust the NIV.  The NIV writers had an agenda, and it wasn't just to get it right.  They were working towards a gender neutral translation.  The finished product was the TNIV, but it was so distrusted, they took it from the shelves, and gave us another NIV.  There was even a lesbian among the translators.   I just don't trust it.  The NIV relegates verses to footnotes, and discredits others.

Whether or not the word fornication was used in English before a certain year is irrelevant.  They translated the Greek word porneo (this is from memory, so if I spelled it wrong, I apologize) to the best English word, fornication.  Even you are admitting fornication was used after 1611, so who cares?  BTW, what is your source for that piece of information?

At the Local State University we have one of the Professors who is a Christian and he has a Phd in the history of the English Language. He gave a free class and I took it. Studying the Bible and it's history is kind of one of his hobbies. Besides all that, That wasn't really my point. I don't expect you to see my side of things. I have been on worthy before and some people will never see someone else's point of view. And what you said about the NIV. I saw an interview with one of the guys involved in the making of the NIV. He said it was an attempt to translate directly from the sources. I didn't write the thing so if the guy who did translate it says that he did it for what ever reason. I believe him till I see proof other wise. My point is that if everyone is an expert as so many think they are, who is right? Some say the KJV is God Breathed. Some say the NIV is. Some say none of them are. Just asking a question.

Their spin was that they were just trying to make it more understandable for today's reader, but even people like James Dobson, who is hardly KJV only, came out against the TNIV because it was going away from the original meaning to create a gender neutral Bible.  The NIV writers had an agenda, and if you really want to know more about it, you can find information on it on-line.  I saw the interview too when they were peddling the TNIV.  What do you expect he would say?  "We are trying to make the Bible more appealing to radical feminists?"  Of course not.  He will come up with a defense for why they went away from the original meaning.  The NIV is by far one of the worst translations out there.  I will stick with the KJV Bible, but if I was dealing with someone that just couldn't handle the old English, I would suggest the New King James Bible as the next best translation.

As for the TNIV, there was so much criticism about it, they dropped the TNIV and just call it the NIV, but it appears they kept some of the changes in tact?  You can't trust it.

    Thank you for you help.
