  1. No, whats truly sad is that people here will support a government that is taking land from innocent people and giving it to others by force. How can you support this?
  2. Throughout that period Jews lacked one thing - a home, defensible space, a place where they could live at peace with their neighbours and ensure their own security. Hmm....wondering if you will be blown up at the next bus stop sounds secure to me. It has admitted more refugees than any other country of its size. And created many as well. The refugees admitted are mostly Jews, and most of them would rather go to the US. How a country that has continued to seek peace after 53 years of suffering terror and war can be described as "by definition an aggressor" frankly defies belief. It's easy. Just replace "peace" with "your village looks nice, vacate it to make room for the next settlement". The Palestinians have suffered for too long. No people should be without economic prospects, without dignity or hope. That is why it is vital for both sides to this conflict to recognise the rights of the other. Israel is here to stay. So are the Palestinians. I have to say, I agree. I just hope that Israel will soon realize that it is not a purely Jewish state, nor does it have the right to make itself one. The arabs have lived there hundreds of years, and have just as much right to be part of Israel as the Jews. And why was the Sinai peninsula returned? This is one of the few instances in which it did return land. This was to primarily to make peace with Egypt. I wish this was true of recent times, but I don't see it. %40 of the west bank is under the control of Israeli settlements and I don't see any call to give any of it back. Dhulker, Dhulker, Dhulker. What?
  3. Under what circumstances has Israel gained more land? Under what circumstances has Israel returned conquered land? Please answer these legitimate questions. Well, it's not like they go up to the arabs and ask for it. Israel is taking land from the Arabs by force. If the arabs don't move, the Israeli government will make them. Returned land? How is giving up a small amount of control in the early 90's, then taking it away a few years later constitute giving? Yes Israel has returned the Sinai penninsula, maybe even twice. But the land in question here is the West Bank and Gaza.
  4. However long they are, that does not justify what the Israeli government is doing now.
  5. So far no one that I have read on this board will even come to grips with the fact that the government of Israel is today engaged in a campaign of ethnic cleansing designed to create an ethnicly pure state. The media may be secular but they aren't lying about this. There is no excuse (godly or worldly)for what is going on over there (especially since it is our money that is funding it). Please respond to the legitimacy of my post.
  6. Let me respond to some of what you have said Bob. 3. Since the Jewish conquest in 1400 BCE, the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,400 years. The arabs have had a continuous presence there since they arrived. Their heritage in Israel is much longer than mine in America, yet you dont see any americans being asked to go back overseas. 14. The P.L.O.'s Charter still calls for the destruction of the state of Israel. Israel has given the Palestinians most of the West Bank and autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them with weapons. There are still many Israelis in power who call for the purging of the remaining arabs. Also, anything that Israel gives the Arabs, it takes away a few years later (how can you call taking %40 of arab land away and giving it to Jewish settlers giving?). 10. The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms. I'm sure the Palestinians would love to get away from Israel for the same reasons. We have to ask what our role should be. What will we tell our grandchildren what we did when there was a turning point in Jewish destiny, an opportunity to make a difference? That we gave both sides weapons to kill each other with, stood by and watched as Israel purged itself of what many believe to be ethnic impurities, that all of the nations who now hate israel continues to receive copius amounts of American Aid ($1-2 billion for Egypt last time I checked). Also that the arab governments that we supported over time (the same ones who call for Israeli destruciton) are despotic monarchies who deny their people the most basic of rights. And worst of all, how we used scripture to justify supporting this.
  7. I would suggest actually reading the literature about evolution to find out just what it is and what it isn't (you may be suprised). We have already seen evidence that micro-evolution is at work. It is macro evolution that people here are aguing about (that is speciation). Find out just what it is and what scientists say it is. And remember, these guys who formulate evolutionary theory are just going on what they see and coming up with explanations for them. I have read alot of what people here would consider pro-evolution literature and I don't think most of them are trying to disuade me from my faith in any way, just presenting what they know based on what they see. So I suggest doing some research yourself and remember that most of them are not trying to challenge your faith (since science is nothing more than an attempt to explain worldly events using worldly knowledge).
  8. Gees Xan you can't even type God or Lord in it's entirety!
  9. The Sovereign State of Israel says they will not negotiate with this devil Yasser Arafat. Our Prime Minister has declared him irreverent. This Jew killing monster has been proven time and time again to be not only an enemy to the Jews and the State of Israel but to the entire civilized world. He has been run out of the surrounding Arab Nations and forced into exile by Lebanon, and Jordan in the recent past, and Egypt will not allow these people who call themselves Palestinians to even come there. Yet Colin Powell comes to Israel as our guest and then goes against the policy of Israel and he and Shimon Peres tries once again to save this devil so he can one day to do us more harms. Like Ariel Sharon is any different. And further more, you talk like the Arabs are squatters on Israeli land when the opposite is true. It is not disputed that Ariel Sharon has built 34 new settlements on Arab land this year alone. This requires confiscating arab land and giving it to Israelis. How does a christian justify theft? And one more thing. Nothing is more holy than anything else. When Jesus died the temple curtain tore allowing anyone to enter the most holy of places. The land that Jeruselum sits on is no more holy to god than the land my house sits on.
