    Hi Everyone

I understand the purpose of baptism. I haven't been baptized yet have so much passion for Christ.

    What happens to unbaptized believers?

What is stopping you from being baptized? May be that would help. Blessings and good day!

  2. I like this conclusion. Applicable for everyone of us.

Faithful Christians can look at these survey results and lament the state of theology in America. Or, we can look at these results and engage our Great Commission work with a renewed urgency and purpose. Ligonier Ministries is taking the latter approach

something i noticed which was pretty amusing. But do you think  a man would be right or christianlike to have this opinion

You can search all you want. There is not going to be a scripture which would say, Christians should not worry whether they would have their own children to carry their legacy or not :)

Like others said, this discussion should be had very early. There is no right or wrong answer for this.

I am unsure what I should do about this or if I should do anything at all. But I went to a Sunday School class this past Sunday and ended up in a political debate. I do not want to go into detail about what was being said, but  the leader of the class was talking about how one of the candidates  running for president is better then the other one. And was dishing out dirt on the candidate that they did not like. Saying stuff like "if they get elected this and this is going to happen ect ect" The whole thing made me very uneasy and I felt like walking out of the class. I did not want to get into a political debate in Sunday School and you know how hard it is for me to kept my thought to myself. So my head was about to explode I sat there trying hard not to be a part of it.  I felt it was very inappropriate for Sunday School class. I am considering not going back to the class until after the election. I do not know if I should talk to the Sunday School leader about this or if I should just let it pass.  Do you think that it as okay what happen? What do you think I should do?

I am not sure what is the age group of this Sunday class is. Typically it is very common for politics to get into discussions when 2 or 3 have gathered! ha ha! :)

We usually go back and forth after Church service while having men talk. It is with the belief that each person has a personal belief and we are just sharing that. Nothing should be taken personal. You are right to say that such talks are inappropriate for Sunday school. It is surprising that the leader of the class would actually get involved in such discussions. Not knowing the structure of the Church, I am not sure who should be approached for this. It would sound appropriate to approach the leader itself to ensure such talks are kept outside the class.

Hello I have been experiencing a lot of issue with my husband who claims before marrige he was a believer of Christ and already was baptized. Since 2001, he has left me and our 17 yr old son six times. We became home less twice and the other 5 times if he did not come back would have faced homeless again. Recently he says he will leave again due to God has not provided us another child. He is blaming my blood pressure medication as the cause even though the doctor said I am on safe medication that does not effect having children. I told him God is the only one that can give life and if GOd wants to no medication, nothing can stop him. My husband also does not provide properly. He does not share his money and pushes most of the bills on me., We are now  in an efficiency which the landlord allowed to be temporay however I cant save up to get out due to my husband not pulling his end nor is he trying to get antoher job. My husband also said today he is no longer going to the church and bible study anymore and he is returning back to his old church which the people only speak Creole however me nor our son speaks Creole. ALso when my husband left me the last six times I conforted the Pastor at that church and he said he is not getting involve. I cant go backwards God has called me to the church I attend. Our son has just got baptized at this church August 29, 2016. Also me and my son has joined the evangelism team. I can go backwards, I am tired of being blamed for God not giving me another, I am tired of a man of God leaving me homeless, with no food, etc. I pray to God all day and my son does too. Can anyone give me some wisdom or understanging on the situation.

He is not showing the fruits of a believer. I see his Church pastor does not want to get involved. How about your Church pastor? May be he can counsel your husband. Like others said, stay strong in prayers.

I may be wrong but doesn't the Bible refer to two types of tongues? One where the Holy Spirit interprits "groanings" and one where people speaking different languages can understand each other? I will try and find the verses.

    Mark 16:17 - And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Romans 8:26  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered

    In Acts chapter 2

And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? Parthians and Medes andElamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, 11 both Jews andproselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God

Some say it was a miracle of hearing! I believe people spoke in tongues (or other languages) which others were able to understand. Like an American speaking Greek. This was actually the first instance of speaking in tongues. Then we see Paul talking about tongues which others don't understand and it is direct communication with God. Rather than saying two types of tongues, I think we should say different operations of tongues. It is the same Holy Spirit enabling believers to speak in tongues. It is for different purposes and simply different operations. In corporate setting for edification of Church when there is interpretation, personal edification (during personal prayers) and as sign for unbelievers (when someone just speaks their native language without knowing it). I have heard testimonies from missionaries who have spoken with tribal people and shared gospel without knowing their language. I have only heard these though :)

  7. After becoming a father, the topic of abortion brings more pain to me. Every time I read about abortion, I remember seeing ultrasound pictures of my girls. One of them is 5 years old and another just celebrated 1st birthday. It is really painful to see that such wonderful babies were never given the opportunity to even see the world. I only pray that Lord will change the hardened hearts.

My boyfriend and I are Christian and love each other very much. We would like to get married, however there is one big problem. His parents, who are also Christian, do not approve of our relationship. They haven't met me yet, and they refuse to meet me because my parents are not Christian. In their eyes, my boyfriend shouldn't marry someone whose parents are not Christian as they may have an unchristian influence on our home or in our children's lives. We have already talked about how we would raise our kids in a Christian home using Christian principles. My boyfriend and I are really struggling with this. We believe that children should obey and honor their parents, even through we are both adults. And without their blessings he doesn't feel like he can or should marry me.

What should we do? Is it unchristian to choose your own husband/wife or to marry without parents' blessings? Please advise. We want to follow the Christian path. We're both praying about this, but need advice.

Why don't you both give it some time before making any final decision? How long have you been together? If his parents are this strong, did this topic never come out until marriage came out? Why would they let their son see someone if they are not going to agree to the marriage? Or your boy friend never told about you to parents? While it does sound harsh that their parents are being judgmental, it would not be fair to make any conclusions without knowing all the details.

You are very much right in saying we are to obey parents as long as it does not violate God's moral standards. But they are not saying anything immoral here. Frankly, there is no Biblical answer for this. You and your boy friends close relationship with God will only give the answer

    - We don't think twice about having the vet put microchips in our dogs and cats if they can help reunite a missing pet with its family. But how willing would you be to have a microchip embedded in your children in this age of Amber alerts?

According to an NBC News report, the technology has been around for several decades, and putting microchips in children will happen "sooner rather than later."

According to WFLA TV (NBC's Tampa Bay, Florida, affiliate), electronics experts say microchipping children is safe and effective, and that Americans eventually will come to accept the process to insure their kids' safety. One day, the report says, it will become as common as barcodes.

The report then features an electronics expert who says that microchip testing in humans is already happening: "The military is not only testing this out, but already utilizes its properties," says Stuart Lipoff. "It's not a matter of if it will happen, but when." [ ... Read More (Source) ]

I think today we have all sorts of technological advancement for something that would be mark of the beast. But I don't think it is already here. It would not be something we would end up using without even realizing it. Everyone will have to make a choice. Whether to get the mark of the beast and worship the beast or be slain. It would be a decision everyone would make and not something happening without even realizing.

Revelation 13:15 And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. 16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.

I was talking to somebody who I love very much and she asked me to explain "Why do you believe"?

Can anybody who reads this  question please explain   "Why YOU  believe"?

The person who was asking the question is reading all the answers ...

    Thanks ~~

because a time came in my life when I realized what sin is and there is really no remediation other than cross. It was actually Lord who opened by heart and eyes. Any one would believe in Jesus because Holy Spirit touched their heart. That is the biblical truth. I believed because He ministered to my soul and softened my heart

My son, (Tim) age 23, has been raised "right" by his mother and I, graduated from Christian school in 2011. Still living at home (which is fine with us) while working to get a steady footing, starting life out on the right foot financially, hoping to purchase a home and move right in, instead of paying high rent prices & struggling along like "we" did many years ago...

As mentioned, he was raised correctly, is the kindest person you would ever want to meet, has a tender heart of gold, truly a beautiful individual, saved, and knows what is right, has had years of Godly instruction....however...

As with most young people, he can be easily swayed by certain people, and his "girlfriend" is no exception to that. She is more "experienced" (shall we say) in the world than he is, and is leading him down roads that are destructive. I was young once (lol), so I fully realize that new, "forbidden" adventures are exciting to a young person, but as a parent, we can all agree that this behavior breaks our heart, especially when we know what the outcome can be.

I humbly ask that you all join with me in prayer that he will come to his senses and take a stand/turn from this type of behavior, and not give in to the pleasures of the world.

    Thank you for your prayers.

Will join in prayers. Wonderful to see parents caring for the spiritual life of their son! I pray that God will honor your desires

We have been attending a church for about 18 years or so.  My kids were raised in this church.  Now they are not liking to go because there is no one their age there.  I understand that church should be about God not everything else.  There is another church available in the area. But we have made a lot of friendships and what not in the church we are in.

Not sure if we should switch or not?

I think there is no right or wrong here. Pray about it and let Lord show you the way. I attend a very small Church. My daughters are the only kids in the Church. In fact my elder one is the only kid in Sunday class and younger one is the only one in nursery. I have never bothered about it. Because they have Sunday class and they are getting spiritual nourishment which is what matters.

I do know some people who allow their kids to attend another Church and the parents attend ours. It is not unusual. As others said, Lord may have planted you there to grow the Church with more youth. Or Lord has other plans for the Church and your kids. Seek the Lord and He will show the answer :)

    Hello all

A few friends of mine are atheists and I'd really like to share my faith with them as they are both going through some very trying times.  One is full of anger towards her father who has had an affair with another woman and the other is depressed and doesn't think she's made the right life decisions.  I feel like the latter might be easier to reach as she is less anti religion than the former (in fact, I never told the former of my conversion at all) but it begs the question -- how do you go about spreading the faith to atheists?

For the record, I was an atheist up until two years ago.  I'm not going to say my road to faith was an easy one, and it's a road that most atheists either stay away from or don't continue the journey to its completion.  I feel like I do have an insight into atheist thought processes, and it's honestly not a case that we are "just angry with God" (although with one vocal atheist, a certain Mr. Dawkins, I have certainly had my suspicions).  The fact is, atheists don't like to place their faith in a holy text filled with supernatural happenings and stuff that goes against absolutely everything they know or think they know about the world.  To change their minds is roughly equivalent to pulling a giant rock out from under their feet and replacing it with another.  As an atheist, I used to hate being proselytised to as it made me feel uncomfortable, put on the spot and irritated with myself that I hadn't crossed the road earlier.

This all having been said, I would love to reach them.  I've prayed for them (not for their salvation so much as the hope that the Holy Spirit will guide them towards some kind of peace) but I'm also in regular phone contact with my depressed friend and have been giving her secular advice on applying to university and joining clubs to help her get out of her rut.  Apparently I give good advice, who knew?  Since she's been receptive to that, I'd love to try and help her reach God.  I do talk about my church, but I know that isn't going to be enough.

I guess the big question is, how do I go about doing this in a way that's not so subtle it won't have any effect, WITHOUT making her feel the same way about me as I felt about those street preachers?

Thanks in advance to all who respond.

    ~Annika

Hello Annika. Pray for them and share experiences and testimony rather than trying to preach to them or prove them wrong. I think we would never win souls by proving they are wrong. A person coming to Lord is work of Holy Spirit and not through human wisdom. If they are going through a difficult time, let them see the burden your soul has for them. Share testimonies of how Lord has brought you through difficult times in your life. Let them see Christ in you. They would listen as long as you are not pushing something to them.

I have been a Christian a very long time over thirty years, but never heard anyone speak in tongues,

and many well known Christians say it is still current in todays world, and I know they say you need a interpreter ,if you do speak it.

but the question is ?, does  speaking in tongues really exist ,?or was it  a actual language that was spoke in long ago at Pentecost in native form for all the different people,to understand in there own,the word of God so they could tell there people  and share the gospel?

does anyone here at worthy speak in tongues,? where does it come from ,and what is its purpose,?

I don't know anything about it ,but what I read in the bible,  and yes, this is a legit question ?

I think tongues are for today also. However, it is not the only sign of a person being filled with Holy Spirit. That is where I disagree with typical charismatic theology. I think many Pentecostals believe tongues are just one of the gifts and not "the sign" of baptism of Holy Spirit.

Tongues should be sought as any other gift of Holy Spirit. I have seen many believers who speak in tongues, but lack spiritual discernment. And many believers who have wonderful teaching gifts but do not speak in tongues. I should admit it. I have never personally encountered anyone who have spoken in other languages which they themselves do not know. During Pentecost that exactly happened

  15. Are all lies created equal?

There was a fishing family in the Netherlands who were using their fishing boat to hide and transport Jews out of the country during the time that the Netherlands were under Nazi occupation.    One day, as they were getting ready to depart with a Jewish family down in the bottom of the boat covered by tarps and nets and other fishing equipment, they were approached by two Nazi soldiers.  The soldiers asked the father of the family if they were the only ones in the boat, or if they had any passengers.  He respond that he and his sons were the only ones in the boat.   He managed to looking convincingly at the soldiers in the eye.  The soldiers believed him and told him to carry on and they managed to get the family to safety.

Now had he told the truth, he and his family would have been arrested and  his family and the Jewish family would likely have been murdered in the camps.   Did he sin by lying to to soldiers or should he have told the truth?

Just saying.. It was not the lie that saved the family.. The Nazi soldiers could have still searched for the boat and found the others. It was grace of God.. If the person had said "I am hiding some Jews and they are hiding at bottom of the boat". The Nazis might have thought this guy is crazy or pulling some jokes and left.

  16. we all know what the bible says about anger.I'm aware that its a negative emotion but i just find it real hard to suppress it at times, and somehow when I'm mad,it pushes me beyond my limit and it makes me even more productive.

so my question is, is it a sin to be motivated by anger?

    feedbacks are welcomed warmly;)

Anger is not always sin. There is a type of anger of which the Bible approves, often called “righteous indignation.” God is angry (Psalm 7:11;Mark 3:5), and believers are commanded to be angry (Ephesians 4:26). Two Greek words in the New Testament are translated as “anger.” One means “passion, energy” and the other means “agitated, boiling.” Biblically, anger is God-given energy intended to help us solve problems. Examples of biblical anger include David’s being upset over hearing Nathan the prophet sharing an injustice (2 Samuel 12) and Jesus’ anger over how some of the Jews had defiled worship at God’s temple in Jerusalem (John 2:13-18). Notice that neither of these examples of anger involved self-defense, but a defense of others or of a principle.

  17. Hes succeeding in destroying me. Bummer huh?

Dunno how to stop it. Its getting worse

In your original post you had mentioned that you don't want to open doors for satan. Have you thought why do you still open the doors? How frequent do you read Bible and how much do you pray? Who do you think Jesus is?

  18. Just curious what everyones favorite parable is and why?

I like the story of the Great Feast. Luke 14:15-23 Their excuses for not coming are ridiculous. "I bought a field and now I must go see it" ...you didn't see it before you bought it? Or "I just got married, so I can't come"...did you not know you were going to be getting married before accepting the invitation? So they simply did not want to come! So he invited the poor and sick. He had his servants go out to dangerous areas (country lanes) and call in the travelers. Some may not accept his invitation, but those who did would be forever associated with the man who invited them to dinner. The man never asked them to bring any gifts for the dinner party...but he did ask them to come then ...not on a later date. The people who went to the dinner were grateful for the dinner and enjoyed the dinner...but the people who rejected the invitation were not allowed to enter the party after they rejected the invitation. Jesus calls all kind of people to follow him...rich and poor, young and old, powerful and oppressed people. Some people are so rich and involved in their own fleshly desires that they foolishly exclude themselves from the Kingdom of God. While some of the strictly religious rebuked Jesus for welcoming those they considered sick and sinners. God is generous and the invitation is open to everyone. The dinner is open to everyone...but he doesn't force any of us to come to it. The invitation is for today...the invitation may not be around tomorrow.

Each parable is so rich! My favorite would be prodigal son. So many things to learn from that.

  19. I'm a Christian. I would love to be able to study/worship/pray to Saints though.

A few years back I read that Worshipping Saints is Idol Worship. (???)

I've also heard that only Catholics are allowed to pray to/worship Saints.

On two positive ideas I've heard about Saints though, are that 1. Saints can be looked at as our friends. and 2. The goal of every Catholic is to become a Saint.

(I hope it's okay to post things about Catholicism)

I am new to this forum.. I am a Protestant believer.. We don't believe in praying to saints.. Jesus is the only High Priest for us today.. He is the only one who can talk on our behalf.. Satan is the accuser. Christ will speak on behalf for us.. No one else in between..
