ive ran into a few...can be quite painful....but typically, in the end, they are walls, how quickly I get back up all depends on how fast I hit the wall.....lol. Now, that may sound silly, but theres wisdom to be gained, the same principles apply in life, we all "hit walls" in life, where it feels like we can't go forward. Sometimes, we hit it because we are barreling through life without really paying attention where we are going, sometimes God puts it up for a reason. Either way, how fast we get back up from hitting that wall, and moving past, is in every case, directly connected to how much we are willing to slow down and let God take control. :D

Pat, love you bro. I need to focus, but as you know that can be hard at times. I give God the glory and control. Great advice ! :)

If you take the analogy of the human body, growth requires (1) proper exercise, (2) good nutrition and (3) sufficient rest, as well as a commitment to balance all three. If you take the analogy of a tree or shrub, it takes pruning also.  A word to the wise is sufficient.

Thanks brother. It takes all that you are, amen ?

    Hi ATGNAT,

Yes. Walls are important. They let you know that, as bopeep said that God is the Rock at the bottom. It is a wonderful wake up call to address something in our life - expectations, fears, misplaced trust, etc etc. We learn to `let go,` & `let God be God,` & not the `Holy Spirit`s little helper,` if you know what I mean.

Wonderful, revealing of our limited, humanness, & our great need of our Saviour, in ALL areas of our lives. But of course we reckon we are going fine in such & such but then the layers get peeled away, or the wall hits us, & hopefully we become wonderfully more dependent on our blessed Saviour.

So appreciate the walls, the valleys, the difficult times for they help us to address our frailties & cling closer to our precious Lord.

    Marilyn.

Amen , and I do ! Just looking inward.

You might want to expand on what you're looking for here. Dry seasons happen to everyone, and so do other less easily definable things.

Hit a wall? Yeah, been there, done that. Slammed straight into a wall for about 13 years and could do nothing about it -- failed every time I tried to actively do anything to get out of the situation. Why? Not a clue.

    Isn't that a conundrum ?

It's not a matter of faith, but a matter of growth sir. I want to move forward at some pace, but I realize there are time that my failings hinder His Spirit. I must be there at this point.

Yes, about four years ago, and I left the faith entirely. No more prayers, church, Bible, became an utter skeptic as it relates to Jesus, etc. At first it was jarring, and then over time, I settled into this atheist/agnostic lifestyle, and life was so flat. But, I never really knew how to venture back. Just a few months ago, I felt the Holy Spirit come into my life, and all that flatness instantly disappeared. I can honestly say, Jesus is alive, and He wants us to live our very best lives. It takes effort to live in this world, but Jesus told His followers that they are not of this world. Consider this a time to read more of the Bible, pray more, maybe keep a reflection diary and make it somewhat fun, for lack of a better word. This too shall pass. :)

    Amen.

  6. Thanks everyone.

The walls vary with each of us I guess, depending on our individuality in Christ. Mine has come late in life, surprisingly. It may be a dry season, or simply my own failure to listen as ya'll have suggested ( which I am truly grateful for the input ).

For those who asked for something more specific, it seems that my " growth " is stunted. I rejoice in where I am, and will wait on the LORD, but feel that I have been exactly where I am for quite some time. I figure it's my own fault and will pray about it.

Again, thank you all for the concern and responses. That alone has given me inspiration to seek what I am lacking. :)

They are the ones who look like wheat outwardly, but are in fact weeds.  Only God knows their hearts, but Christ said "By their fruits ye shall know them".  There are millions with the label of "Christian" but the inward reality is absent, and they are trusting in either church membership. baptism, good works, sacraments, or something other than the Person and finished work of Christ.

Amen. We are known by Jesus, and by God for who we really are.

Oh I definitely believe in free will.  Sounds like you made a pretty big shift in how you see things when you left being a Calvnist.

I guess I don't see this taking away free will anymore than the writers of scripture had their free will taken away when they wrote the scriptures.

All of creation is fallible. The only perfection is found in the creator and His Son, who is our savior, Jesus.

we are under grace yes, but there was never any removal of gods laws, only the law of sin and death , everything else, no jot or tittle shall be changed until the new earth and the new heaven , and so , it is not to put us back under the law again , but the law never went anywhere,

so the interpretation everyone is following is false, and I am still inline with Gods holy word, not violating anything, we are under grace, but where the law is founded is the guide of our obediences, to the word that is never failed, and endures for ever and ever ,for all shall pass away but not the word of the lord,

please first meditate on what I said, this is not a quick understanding , for it is the word of God ,, and we have missed this for many years,

    Brother or sister,

I could ( meditate on your teaching ) , but it would AGAIN lead me to the same place I am in Christ Jesus. If that puzzles you I will not apologize. I have hope, a promise from God, and assurance in my savior.

So how does one deal with a physical threat at work.  We have a young gentleman at work who no one wants to work with, and until about 3 weeks ago I couldn't understand.  But this guy really has a knack for saying the wrong thing all the time.  And he likes to get in front of you and joke about getting into fights all the time.  But after last night i am amazed I didn't get fired don't have any idea what kept me from attempting to kill this kid accept I need my job.   First he throws a frozen item at me and I told him it hurt, to which he replied it was to suppose to.   Than must later he not forcefully but lightly slap me in the face and asked what was I going to do about it?  I have try to learn not to react immediately to stuff like that because of anger issue but after about 30 minutes I got in his face about it than when to break; after coming back from break to cover my butt I called the manager and told her if he laid one more finger on me I was going to hurt him.  When I go in to tonight I will be filing a form about what happen last night.

But not real sure what to write because the slap he give me remind of a word that rhymes with switch slap.  Don't think that would be proper to write down.   Plus I have told him several times not to act like a dog on a human leg or fire hydrant when working with our pallets yes he makes certain sexual acts toward our pallets.  Please pray for me to have wisdom to fill out this form and extra strength to deal with this kid without attempting to kill or hurt him.

If you allow him to get away with such nonsense they will continue to bully you ( my opinion ) .

If you play their game ( physical confrontation ), they may win.

Be as innocent as a dove, but wise as a serpent . Handle this as such.

I am done here with this....
