  1. Everything we do and say as Christians should reflect Jesus Christ in our life.  This is many times hard for us since we are still in the flesh, but with God's help we can temper our words and actions.   "But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. Matthew 15:18.

  2. Pj, I know your feelings in my heart because I also am a cancer survivor that went through radical procedures.  Prayer from myself and others is how I got through everything although it was often a struggle I didn't think I could stand.  I have lifted you up in prayer and will be praying.  God Bless You

Yes, there are women who do this very thing you are talking about.  I suppose as a school teacher, I have seen too much of the opposite - (I've taught in Christian schools, public schools, and a charter school and kids are kids).  What I was trying to say is that abortion is not singularly a woman's sin/problem - it's humanity's problem.  My own OB/GYN does not do surgeries of any kind anymore because he refuses to do abortions and he is afraid of a lawsuit if he performs a hysterectomy on one woman and refuses an abortion to another.  But far too many OB/GYN's in my area have no problem and a few even push it.

Jayne, I see you are a school teacher too.  I also taught in a Christian school and public schools...for 20 yrs.  I do agree with you...this is humanity's problem!  As seen in the two abortions situations we cited, there are many different circumstances that the women experience that may lead them to take the route they do.  I think the first thing that has to happen is for women to view abortion as wrong...murdering a child(as with the woman I was speaking of) .  Since society....humanity....increasingly says it's  o.k., and even good...we will see fewer females taking the Christian view.  And look at the young lady you wrote about.  Everyone around her compelling her to get the abortion...she is so young, she doesn't even understand the implications of what she is doing!  Something has to be done about this in society, but I don't think we can lump all abortions together and say "punish".

Then we come to the physicians....the knowledgeable ones we look to for help and truth...and we get lies and advice that benefits them.

The apostle was a wise master-builder; but the grace of God made him such. Spiritual pride is abominable; it is using the greatest favours of God, to feed our own vanity, and make idols of ourselves. But let every man take heed; there may be bad building on a good foundation. Nothing must be laid upon it, but what the foundation will bear, and what is of a piece with it. Let us not dare to join a merely human or a carnal life with a Divine faith, the corruption of sin with the profession of Christianity. Christ is a firm, abiding, and immovable Rock of ages, every way able to bear all the weight that God himself or the sinner can lay upon him; neither is there salvation in any other. Leave out the doctrine of his atonement, and there is no foundation for our hopes. But of those who rest on this foundation, there are two sorts. Some hold nothing but the truth as it is in Jesus, and preach nothing else. Others build on the good foundation what will not abide the test, when the day of trail comes. We may be mistaken in ourselves and others; but there is a day coming that will show our actions in the true light, without covering or disguise. Those who spread true and pure religion in all its branches, and whose work will abide in the great day, shall receive a reward. And how great! how much exceeding their deserts!                 commentary from BibleHub

      What are you talking about?

Maybe he means Christian's works will be judged by fire in order to receive rewards?

The answer is prayer prayer prayer. Sometimes people won't listen, this person has already heard the truth there's not much more you can do in that department. At this point there's no point in telling her-all you can do is pray for her, and minister to her through your actions. Continue to be there for her and be a friend, show Christ's love through your actions. And pray. Thats all you can do at this point leave the rest to God.

I could not say this any better than what Patriot said.  Matter of fact, I also have someone in my life that I tried unceasingly to minister to.  They would have no part of it.  I finally came to understand it was God that would bring about circumstances for witnessing to take place.....so I pray and pray.  I love the person but do not push.  It is in God's almighty hands, and I pray daily for this person.  Remember your love and affection will be a wonderful testimony for Jesus Christ.

Abortion is murder.  I firmly believe that.

And there are many people, not just the mother, who are to be held accountable if we are to give out punishments.  Here in Louisiana, a serious study was done that was funded by the state legislature.  It was found that well over 65% of girls and women who had abortions felt coerced to do so.  That didn't surprise me one bit although it does continue to surprise me that most people don't understand this and act as if girls and women get pregnant all by themselves and make these decisions in a vacuum.

Here's an example:  A 14-year-old student of my a few years ago became pregnant.  She HAD been living in a local children's home and had been there for a couple of years and was on the verge of committing  her life to Christ, when her drug addict mother took her out to live again with her.  The young girl became involved with a 19-year-old young man.

I knew that she had a doctor's appointment in Shreveport about the baby and when she came back, here's what I found out from her:

    • The doctor was only interested in the money and told her that because of her age the baby would die anyway and that her hips were too narrow to give birth.  Both of those statements were lies.  He told her she needed to let him give her an abortion.
    • Her mother told her that she would NOT be taking care of the baby and that if she chose to keep it, that she would be out on the streets.
    • Her "boyfriend" told her that since he already had two other babies by two other girls that he would break up with her if she didn't "get rid of" the baby.  He told her that he "loved" her and wanted her, but not another baby and to listen to the doctor.  That the doctor was right.

She was lied to, pressured, duped, and because she was naive, she just went along with what adults were pressuring her to do and she had the abortion.

Today, in Louisiana, it is against the law NOT to provide information to girls and women about options other than abortions.  Literature advising these girls and women on adoption, help with expenses, and more must be provided.

If that 14-year-old girl that I taught is to be treated as a criminal and prosecuted as such, then what of the other players in that story?  Who was the most culpable?

This is very thought provoking...so different from one situation I know.   I knew this 28 yr old woman who had four abortions for the reason of birth control.  She was stable in areas of her life as far as family, financial, (not too sure about emotional).  She talked to me about it and admitted it was the lifestyle she chose...and with men she barely knew.  She said she just couldn't have a baby around...so this was her birth control.  I think with situations so different as these two, there is no one answer as to punishment.  Different levels of punishment, mandatory therapy????

Thank you for everyone's prayers and words.  I have printed out the thread and keep re-reading everything and referencing the Bible verses, as I know I need to drill all of this in into my head!  I want it to be second nature for me to go to God and go to prayer as soon as I feel that anxiety coming on in these situations.  I need to really memorize some verses to use as "mantras" or "affirmations" that I just have so easily in my head and have deeply rooted in my heart.

I have a doctor's appointment today and it turns out that my husband has a meeting/review with his manager today, so prayers are still requested that both of these things go really well!

Am praying for you and your family today!  Please do remember this Bible verse today...

    Jeremiah 29:11King James Version (KJV)

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Even if things don't go quite the way you would want, God is in control...just lay it in His hands and have faith of what He says in the verse.  Just reading your prayer request brings back memories of the inner pain I have experienced because I have gone through things so similar to what you're experiencing.  I was led to this verse by the Holy Spirit and it sustained me......and so many years later it is my testimony because I see it's truth in my life...even though at the time I couldn't see past my own pain.  Our Lord loves you!!

  8. Romans 8:26-27King James Version (KJV)

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

There have been many times in my life....through family problems, death of parent, my own cancer..and many other matters that seemed to take over my life.....that I felt weighted down and my prayers didn't reach God.  I could barely pray because my mind was in such turmoil.  Just remember God is with you and listening!!  We also have help from the Spirit as we see in Romans chp.8.  Be still and know that He is God...and as time moves on you will look and see how God has worked, even when you didn't feel Him.  He loves us and is with us always.  I am praying for you.  AND God Bless your wonderful pregnancy!

Perhaps you have become so focused on the suffering that you have forgotten to be thankful?

I have found that the more immediate thanksgiving I give to God for each small benefit or success I receive...the more they come.

I agree with this, and also I think the more we give thanks for even the small blessings, the more we recognize and acknowledge things in our lives as blessings.

Thank you my friend. I have few who do understand. You see you and I are both teachers. That was my profession. I have my Master Degree in Education and studied Special Ed in depth. I was often in charge of the emotionally disturbed children. I understand them as I study their interests.

I used to teach in a Muslim country and I had to learn their language and customs/traditions in order to interface with them. It's part of a missionary's job to mesh with the people they minister to and to be culturally sensitive.

Online the people share their music and poetry with me. I study it and begin to understand what drives them.

The thing that surprises me that these kids know they're being controlled by demonic forces. That's what really surprised me. The are very self-aware.

They do know the forces of good and of evil but they cannot seem to speak to adults because they are simply dismissed as going through a "phase" whereby the adults are ignorant of the indelible mark their culture of death leaves as adults allow them to flirt with or engage the demonic realm through the use of many kinds of media ( e.g. ouija boards and virtual reality gaming )

It's natural to see this disturbing pattern with grave concern - just as one would be disturbed to see bodies and body parts strewn about in a war zone. Same concept. It's disturbing but I stay the course and move on and listen constantly for the Lord's direction. I can barely breath apart from Him.

I am praying with these children online. I can see God protecting me along this journey. I am a reluctant combat soldier but God is my C O. He's giving the orders and I simply respond. Sometimes I do recon and sometimes extraction. I am being primed to do extraction of specific targets ( God shows me who and how ) and I simply wait till He tells me what to do next.

God is giving me along with the prayers of the saints who are building a fortress around my heart and guarding me and my household.

I have found that it is important when dealing with these young people, that you know something of the things in their life.  But this being said, I cannot imagine the toll it takes on you to deal with this depth of toxicity daily.  I know the toll it has taken on me....and I have just taught in rural America.  My heart was wrenched countless times through working with children surrounded by dysfunctional families, poverty, drugs, abuse, mental and physical disabilities due to the mother's prenatal drug use.....but what was not overt in these rural areas was the underlying cancer.....satan.  Our young people are lured by the siren song of music such as you showed above.  Their pastimes as you described are ouija boards, virtual gaming. ghost hunting, paranormal tv shows....and I know you've seen much, much more.  Concepts in new age such as channeling, out of body experiences, and talking with the dead, are flooding our young people .They have to have someone who knows Christ Jesus and is willing to take the time with them...and pray.  But they are not going to listen to you if they feel you know nothing of them and their experiences.

I admire your fortitude, and your love for people shines forth.  I pray for you and your ministry.  I pray that God will lead, guide, and protect you and your family...in what you do.  God Bless You

  12. Catsmeow, I really think you have keyed in to the pulse of what is really going on with our young people.  It's a really scary thing.  I taught elementary school for 15 years.  The really young would come to me and tell me about the movies they had watched and loved (like Saw).. that I wouldn't let my pets watch!  Negativity, and satanic concepts inundate the music.  You can really see what it is doing to many young people.  In your position, I can see where you need to know what is going on in their entertainment, which is usually their life.

I share this story with you because I am absolutely convinced the power of heaven is unlocked on earth when we devote ourselves to the SECRET PLACE of the Most High.
One of the best kept secrets of our faith is the blessedness and joy of cultivating a secret life with God.
Imagine the sheer delight of it even now. You’re tucked away in a quiet nook; the door is shut, you’re curled up in a comfortable position; the living Word of God is laid open before you; Jesus Himself stands at your side; the Holy Spirit is gently washing your heart; your love is awakened as you meditate upon the gracious words of His mouth; your spirit is ignited and your mind is renewed; you talk to Him and He talks to you in the language of intimate friendship.
In Psalm 27:4; David wanted to be in a place where he could see God, speak to God and to worship Him. This was the all-consuming desire of his heart.
When a believer abides in that precious place close to the Lord, he/she possesses some blessed assurances that the rest of the world knows nothing about. In this day that is the kind of assurances we need as we fight the battles of life with the world, the flesh and the enemy.
For even when life is at its best and running smoothly, we are still in the midst of perilous times (2Tim. 3:1). If you will abide, and that is the key word here, for those who abide enjoy God’s best, are those who abide in the SECRET PLACE with Him (Jn 15:5).
The message here is simply this; the Lord is intensely interested in what is happening in your life and mine! We are reminded that He is touched with the feeling of our infirmities (Heb. 4:15), He has His eyes on every details of our life (Heb 4:13), He is ever present (Heb 13:5).
May we also remember to look back over the landscape of our past and see where the Lord has moved mountains, filled in valleys and made a straight path for our feet.
You and I may not understand the Leadership of the Lord in our lives but I can assure you, that if you are His, then He is working in your life day by day. He is guiding your steps. Ps. 37:23, Proverbs 16:9. It may seem like is out of control, and it is out of your control, but it is never out of His!
He that dwelleth in the SECRET PLACE of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the ALMIGHTY.

God bless you!  We need our Secret Place or private time with our Lord to grow in our relationship with Him.  What a wonderful daily walk with our Lord Yeshua!!  You have expressed this eloquently.....Amen!

  14. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Jeremiah 29:11  This verse is very special to me because God led me to it during a hard time in my life.  Remember, just as your body needs food for nourishment....your spirit needs spiritual food to thrive and grow...and to find comfort. This comes from reading God's Word.  Pray before you read the Bible, and ask that He guides you as you read.  You have reached out to our only hope, Jesus Christ.   In doing this you are already blessed...
