I'm quite new to bible study and have only recently started going back to Church. I live in New Zealand by the way. My question is, why did God choose the Middle East, Israel, Jerusalem and surrounds to send his only son, Jesus Christ? Is this then, the most important part of the world? Why not China or England or South Africa or Australia? Was it because of population density? is it because the Jews were really the chosen people? Do the Jews still have a very special place in God's heart? (because of the stories in the bible especially old testament)
I'm still at an agnostic stage about Jesus Christ, unfortunately. I wish it was as simple as saying "yes I believe" but I don't think making a statement like that works if you don't have a deep, firm conviction.
