  1. I change my answer from Paul to Mary, Mother of God. How could I leave her out?
  2. Life is shorter than you think. Prepare for eternity!
  3. I haven't reached that stage, only recently starting my faith journey.
  4. I like the comment "we start to see ourselves as God sees us". That really resonates with me. Thanks for that.
  5. I guess anyone who has been a teacher, Jayne, knows the importance of a healthy self-esteem in their students.
  6. thanks eveyone much appreciated maybe ezra's answer is the best .....by a nose
  7. I imagine some people who have very high self-esteem, think they don't need God. We need to be humble towards God and sensitive to other people who are all precious to God.
  8. Poor Ever. He spent too much time on the Internet.
  9. I'm a carer for mentally ill who are living in the community. Unless I start my own NGO (not for profit) I'll be working for someone else indefinitely.
  10. It is interesting for me to be on this forum because I am a typical cradle catholic of my generation, who has very little bible knowledge. I would like to get to that stage you are talking about.
  11. I'm a 58 year old male and don't like to be micro managed but if I state that preference it gets me into trouble with some women
  12. it looks to me as if discussing religion and the bible can affect one's mental health as evidenced by the conflict on here now
  13. that word has already been used. And I guess I am the problem. Thanks for your advice. I am male by the way.
  14. For me it either follow Christ or follow my ego or human nature which is very flawed I know. My ego or pride is THE problem.
  15. scary stuff, God never forgiving you
  16. Of course I struggle. I fear I have that seed of sin in me which can become a monster I know at times, only seeing the negatives in others, trusting no one and ignoring God. My ego monster wants to score petty points and look important and smart. it hates being humiliated or appearing to be anyway. God, grant me that humility and wisdom to see past daily communications with others. Help others feel your love through me. Help me see their good intent and not judge or look down on them. Basically less of me and more of you is what I pray for now, Lord.
  17. It is a big ask though, if you look at these questions. I mean how many of us are really prepared to die for Jesus Christ for instance ? If we are really put in that test situation. To really take up the challenge of accepting the cross in surrender, we are going way beyond our comfort zones.
  18. Now that is the very question on my mind right now. Not sure if speaking my mind to my boss is the way to go as I have just started. What would Jesus do I ask myself? Maybe he would humbly submit to authority as he says in the bible "give to Caesar what is caeser's" "and if they ask you to drive 50 km, drive 100 km"
  19. maybe get some medical advice from a physical therapist. posture affects back pain, also minimising strain on neck. I take pin medication too but the most important thing is posture and exercise especially to your core muscle group of abs and lower back muscles.
