  1. We determine guilt this way each and every day. The court of public opinion is in session each and every day. OJ's life has been ruined by the court of public opinion even though the court of law found him not guilty. Harvey Weinstein's life has been ruined without a single piece of what you could call evidence, by the court of public opinion. There are a whole lot of people on this forum that have judged Hillary to be guilty even though there has never been a single charge filed against her. They deemed her unworthy to vote for, just like people will have to decide about Moore. This is also not something new, do you remember Gary Hart? This has been going on for a long time. This is also not just one person vs Moore, there is a growing list of people that have no reason to lie and have nothing to do with each other. I could give you a whole list of reasons why I feel that Moore is guilty and you can give me a whole list of things why you think he is not. In the end we each have to make up our own mind. If you live in Alabama you will have an additional step of choosing to vote for him or not. If he is elected then the Senate will have to make up their minds what to do about it.
  2. I think that Weistein and O'Riley opened the floodgates as victims saw that for maybe the first time they could be successful in bringing these things to light. There has been a culture in our country for decades where men with riches and power felt they were entitled to anything they wanted, to include any woman. And for way too long they were getting away with it and their victims were keeping quiet as their lives were ruined if they tried to say anything. But the tide is turning and I say it is a good thing. Hopefully from this point forward there will be fewer men doing these things as women will feel they finally have the power to stop it.
  3. Nope, but it does mean Moore lied about not every talking to or knowing the girl.
  4. The victim counts as an eyewitness. The victims have given their eyewitness testimony that Moore molested girls. They are evidence, even in a court of law.

  6. No, it is called research. I only use one translation, the ESV...the one true English version
  7. An eyewitness testimony is a description given by someone who was present at an event. Or another definition of an eyewitness testimony is the account a bystander or victim gives describing what that person observed that occurred during the specific incident under investigation. The fact that you do not like what they are saying does not change what they are.
  8. Of course there is evidence, eyewitness testimony is very compelling evidence and can send people to jail on that alone. Then the eyewitness testimony has been corroborated by people who have said they were told of the events at the time they took place. There is a yearbook belonging to a person he claims to have never met that has his writing in it. There is the fact that people that know him well have not said he didn't do it, but instead justified his actions. All of these things are evidence.
  9. But you just said that " he has more immoral than Roy Moore. Now you say they are even. I am confused.
  10. How does a comment like this tie into this question asked in another thread... Can a fundamentalist Christian serve in office in the US WITHOUT compromising his/her Christian values?
  11. True, but she does have a yearbook signed by Moore, a yearbook that also has a picture of Moore's wife in it.
  12. So, is it your stance that since Ted Kennedy was allowed to serve that a child predator should also be allowed?
  13. There is evidence. I do not know anyone that said they are as "good as proof" but they are what we have and in the court of public opinion everyone uses what we have. You yourself have said that anyone that does not think Moore is innocent is just a tool of the establishment. So you have made up your mind as well. We are all held to that standard each and every day. It is not a sure sign he is guilty, it is a sure sign the one saying it thinks the person is guilty. One does not use the "what about _______" defense in regards to someone they feel is innocent. This is the standard that has always existed in the court of public opinion. It is not something new and it is something everyone lives under. Take OJ for example, legally he is not guilty of murder but everyone I know still thinks he did it. Or take the Clintons for another example. Neither have been found guilty in a court of law, yet I am pretty sure you believe both to be guilty of crimes. You keep trying to impose strict legal standards onto the court of public opinion, but it will never work. You posted an article about the WaPo offering to pay someone $1000 dollars for making up stories on Moore. I will assume since you posted the article you thought it was true. Obviously there were not the strict legal standards applied, especially considering the one that tweeted the initial story is a known fraud who cannot even keep the number of purple hearts he was awarded straight.
  14. And just when it seems this story cannot get any weirder, it turns out that the latest accuser and Moore's wife were classmates in High School. They graduated the same year.
  15. From the guy that tweeted about the WaPo offering money...
  16. I agree 100%. There is nothing in the ESV that changes or removes or adds any theology that is also in the KJV.
  17. Assuming all of that is true, it still does not follow that the KJV is God's choice. Why does that make a difference? If the goal of biblical translation is to choose the best English word for the word that was used, then all that matters is the skill to do that. A "devout" person translating the Bible has an already preconceived notion of what it should say, which could cloud their judgement, they are only human after all.
  18. If all of this is true, then there is no reason it cannot all apply to the ESV as well as the KJV. Or was God not capable of doing so for more than one English Bible?
  19. It is called biblehub.com. Type in a verse and you get 20 (or thereabouts) different translations. Great tool in discussions like this one.
  20. You are correct that friends thinking he did it doesn't prove his guilt in a court of law. In the court of public opinion they carry more weight.
  21. Chappaquiddick took place in 1969. At that time John McCain was a POW. I am pretty sure he did not know it was going on. He did not become a Senator till 18 years later. The defense of "well this guy did something worse" is a poor defense.
  22. Not sure cheating on your wife is more immoral than a 30 something trying to fool around with a 14 year old. They seems to be pretty level.
  23. Bringing a suit opens up all sorts of cans and closets. So, while he might be able to vindicate himself from this one charge there is a lot more dirt that could be found on a man that self admits as a 30 year old he liked to date teens. There is no way he takes this to court, he has way too much to hide. We have already found out that at least some of his friends think he did it.
  24. The man you voted for the office of President divorced his first wife while cheating on her and married another woman 17 years his Jr. Then he divorced his second wife, while cheating on her, for a woman 24 years his Jr. That was not an issue for you with Trump, why is it an issue with McCain?
  25. It is post like this that makes me think even the Trump folks on here know Moore is guilty. The “oh yeah, well the Dems did something worse” defense is a sure sign that there is some guilt to be had by Moore
