If you search out 'KRAMPUS' you will find a quite unnerving idea behind some so-called x-mas stuff. It aint Christian that is for sure. It seems to have been initially Roman and very pagan. Check out the misteltoe and all that kind of thing. Yule, Tammuz etc., ad nauseum.

I prefer the Festival of Lights myself...

KRAMPUS (2015) is one of my favorite Christmas films along with Christmas Vacation... but I digress continue with the discussion. :)

  2. I love how numbers are thrown around yet where do these numbers actually come from. I cannot find anywhere where God specifically gives us a number code. Absolutely no where. So what this comes down to, and every gematria believer denies this, that these numbers are derived by man for the sole purpose to try and figure out some deeper meaning of God's Word. They assume that these numbers are accurate because they were created by 'spiritual people'. Instead of focusing on numbers why can't we just focus on the actually words of God and learn to put those into practice.

  3. It seems the OP post is a classic example of reading more into a scripture verse than what it actually says. I get that we can apply a spiritual meaning to everything with a scripture passage but most times if we would just read the passage of scripture at face value we will have our answer as to what the verse is saying and implying.

It appeared as a "Grey Alien" and persisted harassing me for some time. It seemed like hours, but probably only lasted a few minutes. I commanded it to go away in the name of Jesus, but that did not initially work. There was a spiritual battle between that "thing" and me for some time, before it eventually left me alone. This was not an ordinary nightmare. As is usually the case when I dream about demons and "grey aliens", I was suffering from Sleep Paralysis. The creature attempted to get close to me, but I would not allow it.

I am a bit curious as to the spiritual battle that this "Grey Alien" caused. Was it asking you to sin in some way or cause you to doubt your salvation (I don't know if your saved or not just making an assumption that you are.)

Since the devils have often appeared to me as the "Grey Alien", I think that people who report Alien Abductions are actually being attacked by Demon Spirits. I have probably dreamed about the Grey Alien 10 or 15 times in my adult life, and it is always accompanied by "Sleep Paralysis". A few times, they have been experimenting on me in the dream(s).

My next question is how do you know that it is a demon or something similar? We can't see demons because they are in the spirit realm. I do believe our minds are amazing things and can make us visualize something that has no form because of movies or tv or other media that we have seen that imagines what a "demon" would or might look like.

As far as aliens and experimenting this is stuff of hollywood. While it's fun and makes great movies it is all a way for the world to imagine other human type life exists elsewhere in the universe. And there are some that actually worship or have worshipped these alien beings.

I think my issue is that aliens are being used to describe demons and from what I have seen of aliens, grey or green or blue or even black (remember Ridley Scotts Alien film?) are not demons. We don't know what they look like except that they exist and are very real and they do interact with this world.

If you don't watch the news you're uninformed.  If you do you're misinformed.  :)  The only way I've found is to watch MANY outlets, while investigating and  trying to understand the biases of each one.

US mainstream outlets...without  exception are PROPAGANDA.  They're not in the business of informing anyone.  They're perception management tools fully controlled by interests that are completely sold out to satan's agenda.  FOX just happens to spew a brand of poison more palatable to conservatives than the  overtly  socialist outlets, which is most of the rest.

Russia Today has been far more open and truthful than any US outlet has been for years ... sad to say.  A healthy  dose of truly independent sources will get you closer to understanding the truth.

I think some effort to be informed is probably necessary for most of us.  Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for their blindness to the  "signs of the  times".  I don't know how we can avoid that  same rebuke if we don't make some effort to understand what our times look like.

And He seems to be saying it should be simpler for us to understand the signs of the  times than it is to remember a red sky at dawn means storms and a red sky at night means fair  weather.

Remember that journalism is all about bias. It doesn't matter if it is US media or an independent source. I don't necessarily jump on the bandwagon of US mainstream outlets being propaganda though I would say that it is opinion based more than fact based. However, I can muddle through it and get the facts that I need.

Yes I agree that news needs to get back to being news but I think those times are long gone. What I think needs to happen is that Christians need to stop watching the talk shows on those new channels. They are such a waste of time. All they are doing is preaching to the choir and accomplishing what?

They are just worldly events. There is a lot of porno on the news websites and it is all negative news. There is enough strife in our lives today why add to it? God has it so I am content to let Him have it.

Hmmm I tend to linger around FOX and CNN quite a bit but I sure don't seem to remember there being porno on those new sites. Also while I agree there is strife in our lives living blindly to whats going on around us is not the answer. How do you know what to pray for when praying for a leaders?  How do you know what is going on in your community and how you can best serve the community if you don't know what is going on? To me as Christians we should be very aware what is going on around us. Just some thoughts. Everyone reacts to the news differently. I just know for me I would rather know what is going on in the world so that I can make better decisions and know how to pray more specifically.

I used to like to be informed and go on the news on-line. It has gotten so bad that I rarely go on the news anymore. I figure God has it so I will just put it aside.

While this a noble answer it isn't quite the response we should give as Christians. We should care about what is going on because we as Christians should be informed of what is going on around us. God never asked us to walk around blindly to the world. He did say not to conform to the world but we are still in this world. We are called to be good citizens. How can I be a good citizen if I don't even know what is going on as a citizen?

I used to think this way too until one day I realized that as a Christian I still can play a part in world events. Yes God will ultimately win but in the meantime we also can't just take the easy road and ignore what is going on around us.

so what do you think of Fox?

Fox news is as far right as CNN is as far left. Both are full of opinions. I can't hack either of them. But then again I can't handle a lot of news sites because they are more opinion than fact. So I have to take them with a grain of salt and pick out what is actual fact and not what the new sources wants you to side with.

I am just a humble servant of the Lord here to ask if any kind Christian can advise me.

Ok as a Christian I am confused here. You say you are a servant of the Lord yet you are not a Christian. You can't be both. You cannot truly be a servant of the Lord until you confess that Jesus Christ is Lord of your life. The other thing that confuses me to is that you state you want to better defend God's Word when you haven't truly accepted that all of it is true. If you accept that all of it is true then you should have no issues trusting in Christ as your Savior and thus you would be a Christian.

You can't truly defend God's Word unless you fully accept it 100% and you strive to live by it. Part of that living by it is stepping in obedience and trusting Christ as your Savior. I think unless this has taken place it is difficult to truly help you defend God's Word. I think that is the consensus of most of us here on this post trying to answer your question(s).

  10. Quite honestly while it is fun to thing about what Jesus wrote it really isn't important. If it was God would have had it put into His word. The important part of the event is the lesson we can learn from what took place. That is the focus not so much on what was said in the sand.

John 8:7-9 is the answer.  Notice what it says.  Let me know if you would like me to point out things more closely.

This passage does not give the answer it just Jesus stooped down and wrote in the sand. They kept questioning and he stood back up and then said those that are without sin cast the first stone. Then he stooped down to write more. So no the passage does not give the answer thus the debate as to what Jesus wrote still continues.

  12. My pastor does a great job presenting the word. I may not agree with everything he teaches but then again I am not going to agree with everyone.

We have to make sure that we don't generalize and put every pastor under the same label. There are some great pastors out there the love the Lord and teach the word as best they know how .

As someone above said in the end it isn't going to be the pastor held responsible for your decisions it will be each one of us held accountable before Christ.

  13. I like how one church we are looking to attend does it. They sing one verse of a song at the end and if no one comes up to the alter then we stop singing and pray to close out the service. He does let everyone know that he is always available to talk even though the service is over.

I have been to services were the alter call is drawn out for 10 minutes as though the pastor is the one who is working on behalf of the holy spirit.

There is no guidance concerning altar calls since they are not really in scripture. However I think a pastor should have wisdom as to how an altar call is done and for how long.

  14. not only is their doctrine super warped so is the music that comes out of the church as well. It is meaningless repetitions that cause a chanting like experience affecting the emotions of those singing and listening. When you feed on the emotions of people you can make them do just about anything you want them to.

  15. I always get a kick out of the whole translation debate. For some reason people can't look past the fact that it is a translation and a translation only. The KJV isn't the original text but only a translation based upon the knowledge of the person or people translating the text. The NIV is a translation based upon the original text found that was used for this translation and it was translated based upon the knowledge of the people who translated it.

The other thing is how do you know the Textus Receptus was the correct version or the Westcott and Hort version is the correct version? You only have two texts to compare to. What you really need is a third text which will lean to one or the other. Once that text is found then one can say one is more correct than the other. Otherwise it comes down to personal preference as to which translation you use.

Now that doesn't mean there are some translations that are not good but that can be discussed in another forum.

But the dirty secret is that our culture is set up to basically REQUIRE both mother and father to work outside the home and use public schools as "free day care". It's why there is a push for year 'round school with no summer break.

Maybe some parents do but not all parents so we need to make sure that we clarify this fact.

2 minutes ago, Still Alive said:

True exercising of freedom and responsibility is to have kids when you can afford them and then raise them and school them at home on a single income, making the sacrifices necessary to do so. It's also the best way to EXERCISE love toward your children.

Personal opinion isn't always right nor does it apply to everyone. We have kids so that we can raise up kids who will caring on our legacy of following the Lord and living for Him. We raise our kids to love the Lord and to serve Him by sharing the gospel with others. If we were to wait until we were financially ready no one would ever have kids. So the argument that people need to wait until they are financially able is a false one and one based upon selfishness. Also homeschooling isn't for everyone and it is a true calling. The best way to exercise love toward your children is to teach them godly principles, teach them who God is and share the gospel with them. The best way to exercise love toward your children isn't homeschooling or private schooling or whatever but to live a life that is godly and one that serves the Lord and Him alone.

So both your statements are not entirely correct. Both are based upon personal opinion which again isn't for everyone nor does it apply to everyone. Is homeschooling good? Yes but not everyone is called to homeschool nor do they always have the capability to do so.

What dose that mean. Thoughtful adults who just go along with the system? Who don't speak out when they see something not working?  I am sorry but I don't get why you are calling these kid's idiots. They are trying to fix something that they see is broken. Maybe they don't know how to fix it? But the fact that it has us "old people"  talking about it may be a start.

Yes you are right these kids are not idiots. Kids minds however are easily molded and the liberal type thinking and agendas are feeding their developing minds. It doesn't help that the parents of these kids think the exact same way. At this point it isn't about gun control. It is about controlling the minds of the youth and using them to push agendas that are either not godly or are against what this country stands up or should be standing up.

Again the kids are not idiots they are just mimicking what their parents believe and what government is teaching them through their teachers. I just know that my kids are being taught godly principles and are being taught that we need to make sure that we think before we do something and that includes when to or when not to protest over something.

  18. 7 minutes ago, Still Alive said:

The good news is that many of them will mature into thoughtful adults.

We can only hope. But unless parents step in and teach them how to really think for themselves I highly doubt it. It is scary that the generation coming up is so caught up in liberal thinking and ideologies without even knowing what it means and the ramifications this type of thinking will do to this country.

  19. So the problem is two-fold really. First the problem lies with parents who do not teach their kids right from wrong or that the choices you make will result in good consequences or bad consequences. These parents teach that we need to blame the action not the person doing the action. This is why parents seem to think that their kids can do no wrong and that it is everyone else's fault if the child does something wrong and it hurts another. We live in a society that refuses to see sin as the root problem and that human nature is extremely wicked (Jeremiah 17:9). Instead right is not wrong and wrong is now right. So these kids are growing up not to think through problems and situations because they are being taught, in their own homes mind you, that if someone in authority is teaching something it must be right and not to question the though process. The issue again is that parents are not being parents and they themselves are allowing government and society dictate their beliefs verses God's Word.

The second issue is that society puts a lot of pressure on teens and has a huge influence in how they think, act and talk. Government is a huge problem since they want to control the population and what better way to begin to do that than with minds that haven't developed enough yet to make sound, reasonable decisions. So these 'walkout' protest were nothing more than a ploy to affect the emotions of society so that the knee jerk reaction to a horrific incident continues. These kids have absolutely no idea what the second amendment is nor do they have idea of what the gun laws are yet they are protesting? The majority of them just followed mob mentality and were just happy to have a few minutes of not being in class. They could care less what the issues really are.

I asked my kids today what the second amendment was and they didn't know. So I explained to them what it is. I also explained to them that if I put my shotgun on the table and left it there and no one touched it it would sit their indefinitely without doing anything. Then I explained that when we protest about something we make sure that we know what is going on on both sides, look and understand the laws and how they affect us and then once you know these things then make a decision on whether a protest is actually necessary.

My kids are taught that man is sinful and that they need a savior. They understand that humans make evil choices and will do evil things because the heart of man is evil. I teach them that God is God and that we are to be obedient to him. I teach them that our actions have consequences and that we need to think before we act. But sadly this is not the norm in our society. We live in a society that blames the action on everything except for what it is sin.

    No.

Also, It is much more rare than that (what they have to do). (a lot of people learn English, yet know nothing).

"Seek the Father,  and His Understanding by His Revelation in spirit."

"Written on their heart"  as is written in Scripture. (Romans 2, for 1)

So then the point has to be made that what is the difference between let's say a Spanish translation of God's Word versus the KJV? They are both translations. So if those that hold to the KJV as the most accurate translation would have say that in order to read God's Word you would have to learn English since the KJV is, in their opinion, the best and most accurate translation.
