Not all study Bibles are especially good. Some are rather horrible!!! I have one that comes to mind, "The Possibility Thinkers Bible". It gets used to advance a cause of the particular "pastor of a group" that had it assembled for that purpose.
interesting bud, esp your previous post...there is a God-industry but a discerning mind honours God. I use https://www.blueletterbible.org/ and https://www.biblegateway.com/ and prefer His Bible to comment on itself. Gonna check out Ryrie Study Bible

The Lord gave a word for you OneLight...
Proverbs 14:8New International Version (NIV)
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways,
but the folly of fools is deception.- 1

thank you very much...I have something else troubling me. How do you keep a happy feeling without getting smug?

Makes what, the cross-references? That is done when you compare one part of the bible to another for support and clarity. Have you looked at www.biblegateway.com and allow the site to show cross references?
bud, I was referring to the writers of the refs....are they the translators?
-
I was studying Psa 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. KJV
and checking out the cross-refs....who actually makes them?

I admire John, for recall his attitude in Luke 9:53-55
53 but the people there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem. 54 When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, “Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?”55 But Jesus turned and rebuked them.
John must of repented so well then blossomed so well to do what willa mentioned

you will if A: someone breaks into your home in the middle of the night and takes off with your family or B: your government turns into a dictatorship. No one needs a gun, until they do.
yes....what about only allowing slug guns?non-fatal guns?

some people just dont know how to think for themselves. they are indoctrinated from an early age that guns are evil, and many have never even seen a gun, so anything that looks "remotely" gunnish is scary, and people fear the unknown. if we want actual safety, we need to start teaching gun safety in our schools. At the very least, it would teach kids the difference between a 1911 and a hot glue gun.
bud, can't see why guns are ever gonna be needed over here in new zealand

Our best trip was from oklahoma up through the Rockies to Yellowstone and on to Glacier national park.... up through Canada to Vancouver BC for a two week Alaska cruise. Back to Vancouver then a slow drive down the coastal highway to South of LA. Over to Mesa AZ for a week and stop by Tyler TX for the weekend to see the grandkids.
7 and a half weeks and 7,300 miles..ll an awesome trip.
you remember trips real well...I did similar in paradise nz but wouldn't have a clue now

we have the "once for all" atoning sacrifice on the cross (Hebrews 10) and yet it is "still wrong" to take God's name in vain - Exodus 20:7
agree, new and old!

my wild guess is this will be the enjoyment of a beautiful creative omnipresent God

other, I no longer have the desire to dissect scriptural meanings....but the Lord Jesus perfectly atoned viz.
6 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to one another:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.
5 “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”
6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”
He is our Sabbath

I can set my rebel to spot focus on a very small spot and get the bird behind things.
Also, I had cataract surgery on both eyes and I don't see well through my viewfinder.
very interesting Sir....my situation too....now my camera can select centre-focus (think bigger than a spot). Do you get the spot on the bird or branches?

Hubby has an old Cannon EOS 50D and I don't use it so don't remember if it has a spot focus. He can't use it anymore due to arthritis. But he so love photography and can't bear to part with it yet.
think you mentioned this before, can he use the fly a drone and get to photo like never before

Manual focus is also necessary if you have to focus on a bird behind some branches. Hubby rarely used an autofocus.
true, this is what happened on auto

Go to any construction site, agriculture farm, factory, plant, restaurant, etc... they hire illegals. Punishing the Americans who sell out their own country man and country's economy for cheap labor is the only way to stop this. As long as the supply for jobs for illegals is there they will come. its really simple. The problem isnt so much the illegals, its those who harbor them. And this crime is a felony.
Prohibition never worked either but at Trump's immigration efforts are a tool God is using because He loves the US

It just hit me....I wonder if Gretchen Carlson is related to Tucker Carlson? I think Greta Van Susteran was let go over money issues though; she didn't get a pay out. Kelly is a big 'good riddance'. But you may be right; someone could be taking them down one by one.
sis, don't get too bogged down in civilian affairs

when I bought it, brand and zoom were top priority....used to have Nikon F3 with bayonet lenses, in the old film days. now I want easy, quick for bird photos where you have to be quick.

A 4 second shutter speed will turn everything white unless you are using some kind of filter, or at night.

my dad is 95 but seems to have just given up....s'ppose when one has no hope for eternity in Glory, they can see no point in day in, day out routine of living. can you relate?
