Hello Karen. You have already started on the right path by asking your questions among believers concerned with doing the will of God instead of the secular  government run indoctrination into atheism. You would do well to find a group in your area, your church possibly, of other like minded parents, that are also homeschooling their children. My wife (mostly) and I homes schooled our kids back in the early eighties, all the way through high school, and they now school their kids also. We and other parents formed a local group to meet and discus the different curriculum's available, Bob Jones and Abeka  were popular at the time, and the  Montessori system was a school for gifted (to be?) children, used by the catholic church. Today the internet is overrun with curriculum available.  We also belonged to the Home School Legal Defense League, two hundred dollars annual fee (very well worth it at the time) a nationwide group of Christian lawyers that would come to defend any member when confronted with over zealous local school district/principals. (Home schooling was illegal back then if you didn't use government, public school,  curriculum). We and other parents learned early on to NOT try to copy what the public schools were doing, but to structure your day according to your own needs. My son would have been on medication (Ritalin) if he was in public school, as being a normal boy, he was full of energy. My wife would usually send him outside about ten thirty to run around for thirty minuets to get that energy run off, then back to school work. Their day was tailored to their needs, and not a bureaucrats idea of what OUR kids should do. My son could read before the age of six, as his older sisters enjoyed playing teacher. Do your homework, and ask a lot of questions, and seek your sources from friends and your church with like minded intentions. Even in our church, some criticized us for not allowing our kids to be "socialized" with other kids.  Not knowing, that was the whole idea, allowing us to have the input for our children as their young curious hearts were seeking answers. We allowed our kids as babies and young children to investigate everything they could get their hands on, with very few taboos.   They seemed to gravitate towards the things they could create on their own, from my junk piles, and not so much the store bought educational toys and such. When you chase them out of the house, ( no screen time, thumbs free!) they LEARN to play, actively, create, and how to interact with each other, without electronic stimulus. You don't need authorized  Montessori puzzles and games, to teach. And acknowledge and trust God in your decisions for your children, dedicating them to the Lord.

Thank you so much, Gary Lee, for you have spent your valid time to answer my query. I believe, there is simply no better way to educate a child. I could find that in a recent comparison of SAT scores, homeschooled children averaged 568 on the verbal test and 525 on math; the national average was 506 on the verbal and 514 on math. This shows that homeschooled children perform better on standardized tests. Moreover, who can be more dedicated to helping a child learn successfully than that child's parent? They dedicate their lives to help their children successfully grow to maturity. One factor that is known to be extremely important to educate a child effectively is the teacher-to-student ratio and homeschooling is done largely on a one-on-one basis: there can't be a better teacher-to-student ratio than that. Through homeschooling, a child's education can be tailored to his/her capabilities and personalities. Their education in a particular area can be accelerated, if they excel in that particular area, or if they struggle in a particular area, additional resources can be brought to bear to help. Also, the way children are taught can be based on how the child best learns because of the child's personality. I still don't know why many of them out there still oppose the idea of homeschooling besides all these positives. I asked for your suggestion regarding Montessori games and puzzles since I want her to concentrate on practical life also, which will help her to gain real-life skills needed to master her environment, whether that is dressing, cleaning or learning skills. I think I have found a couple of stores online which can fulfil my needs. I will consider it discussing in my church group for more opinions. Thank you once again.

  2. "Only in recent years has science discovered that everything we see is composed of invisible atoms. Here, Scripture tells us that the "things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Medical science has only recently discovered that blood-clotting in a newborn reaches its peak on the eighth day, then drops. The Bible consistently says that a baby must be circumcised on the eighth day.  At a time when it was believed that the earth sat on a large animal or a giant (1500 B.C.), the Bible spoke of the earth’s free float in space: "He...hangs the earth upon nothing" (Job 26:7). The prophet Isaiah also tells us that the earth is round: "It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth" (Isaiah 40:22). This is not a reference to a flat disk, as some sceptic maintain, but to a sphere. Secular man discovered this 2,400 years later. At a time when science believed that the earth was flat, is was the Scriptures that inspired Christopher Columbus to sail around the world (see Proverbs 3:6 footnote)".

Beware of using straight vinegar or too strong a mixture of vinegar as it can cause clouding of glass also.  Lol! whatever you do don't accidentally grab fantastic for glass cleaner mistaking the spray bottle, as it is only for certain surfaces & damages glass on windows & mirrors.

Vinegar doesn't make me happy either. :(

    1. Get a spray bottle.

    2. Fill the spray bottle half full with white vinegar.

    3. Squeeze 1/2 of a lemon in the squeeze bottle.

    3. In the spray bottle squeeze a generous amount of dish washing detergent such as Dawn...etc.

    4. Turn the spray bottle upside down a few times to combine the ingredients.

    5. Spray on hard water stain.

    6. Wait 1/2 hour then rinse.

    Try that :)

    Thank you

    Blessings :)

I have your remedy and its natural! Make a paste out of vinegar and baking soda. Apply with a rag or sponge and rub in circular motions. If needed, add more baking soda for more "grit" when cleaning. I find this helps get everything off. Depending on how long the water spots accumulated, you may want to start in small area and really lean into it when you are rubbing. Rinse off with clean water. There you go! I use vinegar and baking soda for a whole lot of things around the house.  Works great on my stainless pots and pans. They stay looking new and they are 30 yrs old. I soak my faucet filters in vinegar and all the mineral deposits just melt right off in 24-48 hrs.  Works great on my teeth too!  Im all for natural products. Healthier for everyone involved if I can help it. 100s of uses and cheap as dirt(almost)! I can get you the link to all the many uses of baking soda and vinegar if you are interested.

    Blessings :)

a commercial product made to remove minerals is CRC.    Works on most deposits.

if it's acid removable just use a room temperature of Coca Cola.   it has a pretty strong acid content.     I use it to clean my auto windows, just remember that it will damage paint if left on it when you are through.....   rinse if off of anything you spill it on.      I get those stains on my Winnebago side windows.

    Thank you for your suggestion.

    Blessings :)

  7. Vinegar doesn't seem to work. I tried it a couple of times, but, I couldn't get that crystal clear look. I am just looking for perfection as I have an upcoming birthday party of baby Harriet. She will be 2 this year. We hired a professional post renovation cleaning services last year which operates here in Oakville. Should I hire them again for this? What do you guys think? Let me know your thoughts on this.

Well, basically, it typically involves polishing the glass, I believe the compound involved, is call cerium oxide, but that is coming from very old and sketchy memories. It is similar to how car finishes are polished with car buffing compounds, abrasives in a paste, in several stages, with finer and finer grits.

I suppose it it possible, that one could do it with those same sort of compounds, if it is just mineral deposits on the glass, and there is a good chance that this is all it is. There used to be (probably still are) chemicals for removing deposits from glass and tile, that focused on rust, lime and calcium deposits.

The polishing compounds for car finishes might work, the cerium oxide is for if you have to polish the glass itself, not just remove mineral deposits. One thing that occurs to me as I write this, is perhaps a trick used to restore car headlights would work, using tooth polish or a polishing tooth paste. The abrasives in that might be hard enough to remove mineral deposits, and fine enough to get a good, clear result. I think that might be my approach, polishing tooth paste with some vinegar to help cut the lime/calcium on the glass, with the abrasive action of the polish. I would use (I think) a micro-fiber polishing cloth, as the application tool.

Mind you, I do not know if this works, it is just an idea in my mind based on what I believe to be sound concepts. Good luck!

Thank you so much for spending your valuable time helping me. I will definitely consider your suggestion.

    Blessings :)

Just so you know, sometimes those stains are not stains, they are mineral deposits that can be  removed with mild acids, like vinegar. Vinegar, and other acids, can actually over time, etch glass itself, but that is rarely the case for week acids. Some of these kinds of things, are not removable with chemical, but have to be polished out mechanically, to the point that some decide that it is not worth it, and either live with it, or replace the glass, but I wish you luck.

    I suggest  Youtube search.

Thank you  Omegaman 3.0  But I haven't heard of any mechanical methods yet. What is it actually?

  10. Hello,

I am having a hard time scrubbing off the hard water stains from my window glass. This resulted out of a misplaced lawn sprinkler. Tried some DIY solutions, but nothing seemed to work. Please suggest me a "really working tip" for this. Thanks for any suggestion in advance

My church is going on a missions trip to Isreal from July 10 to 19. Please pray for them every day for 10 days.

Pray for their safety and that multitudes will be saved because of them and that even when they are gone the gospel will spread until the end.

    God's blessings be with them.

  12. Just saw this online when searching for the meaning " When the Son of man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”

The circumstances in which Jesus made this statement were not at a time when He was talking about His return to earth at the end of this age. But it’s clear that He is referring to that time.

He asks this question of whether or not there’ll even be faith left on the earth at His return.

If He is omnipotent and omniscient, why would He ask a question like that? It’s almost like the feeling is that it’s going to get so bad on earth before His return that He asks this question of whether or not there’ll even be faith left on the earth at His return.

What is the context of all this? At the beginning of Luke 18, “He spoke a parable to them that men ought always to pray and not to faint.” He went on to tell about the woman who kept coming to a judge in her city to get justice for a wrong done to her. Jesus said the judge was unjust and didn’t fear God or man. But finally he just wanted the woman to stop bugging him about the matter so he tended to it. Then Jesus asked His listeners, “Won’t God answer His own elect who cry to Him daily?

It’s all about prayer and having the faith that God will answer. If that unjust judge took action just because that woman kept after him, won’t the God of heaven hear and answer the prayers of His people? But then Jesus asked, “When the Son of man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” Here are a few other verses from the Bible that bring light on that time and seem to indicate the dire straits the world will be in then.
