Thankyou for the kind words brother, I can understand MorningGlory's scepticism, but assure you I've made no fabrications regarding myself. I've found those who lie about such things eventually come undone.
-
It is indeed my home. I work however in the ME. Not really keen on posting my current and exact location in a public forum, hope you understand.
-
Great, Thanks for your service! I wont disrespect you as you have done me. As I've said, I have posted what's being reported. And at this stage, there is zero evidence to my knowledge that rules out any number of possibilities. Let me get this right, so I am aiding and abetting terrorism? I think that's what your implying by your comment "helping to spread terror"? Once again, I'm posting articles from news sources for goodness sake, and I have not said ISIS is involved, but I am saying its a possibility until its been categorically ruled out by the authorities on conclusion of their investigation. That seems logical to me. Are we finally clear on this point?

I've posted what's being reported.

Forgive me, but this is totally absurd. Am I now a terrorist? I served and fought for my country, I fought alongside Americans at times in this ongoing war on terror, Americans that have similar views to myself. I know the threat to our freedom, I've defended it. I believe people need to acknowledge and accept it, unlike some who think turning a blind eye or remaining in denial will make it all just go away. Talking about the terrorist threat, or threats to our democracies in general makes us aware, I have the opposite opinion to yourself. Not discussing terrorism is a form of denial. There is no alternative way to combat terrorism other than to firstly accept it, confront it, fight it and annihilate it. Whether this is Islamic terrorism, domestic terrorism or some other form, it should be treated as such.

Las Vegas sheriff: Mass killer led a 'secret life' before attack The Las Vegas gunman behind the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history spent decades stockpiling guns and living a “secret life” that investigators may never be able to fully understand, police say. Clark County, Nev., Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said Wednesday that it was only logical to “make the assumption” that Stephen Paddock had “some help at some point” in pulling off Sunday's massacre. As evidence, Lombardo pointed to gunman Paddock’s huge arsenal, explosive materials found in his car and his meticulous planning. “What we know is Stephen Paddock is a man who spent decades acquiring weapons and ammo and living a secret life, much of which will never be fully understood,” the sheriff said. Authorities also revealed that they believe Paddock had an escape plan, even though he turned the gun on himself as police closed in on his luxury suite at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Paddock killed 58 people and injured hundreds in the attack as he fired from his room on the 32nd floor. Authorities were still searching for a motive. "Anything that would indicate this individual’s trigger point, that would cause him to do such harm, we haven’t understood it yet," Lombardo told reporters Wednesday. "Don't you think the concealment of his history of his life was well thought out?" Analyzing Paddock's computer, cellphone and other electronic devices, Investigators have found no obvious ideological motive, no clear connection to extremists or activist groups or outward display of mental illness, The Associated Press reported. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/10/05/las-vegas-sheriff-mass-killer-likely-had-some-help-at-some-point.html

Sorry you feel that way, its not my intention to upset you. MEMRI is a solid and reputable site, unfortunately I am not a subscriber so had to copy paste from Jihad Watch who happened to have the MEMRI articles on their site. Please do not put words in mouth, I'd be grateful if you could point out where I've said ISIS is responsible or the FBI are lying.

Agreed. This guy was very deliberate and planned thoroughly. Would be interesting to know how far back he had planned to commit this act or something similar. Doesn't fit the typical profile of your usual spur of the moment lunatic mass murderer.
-
Fair assumption.
-
Mass murder generally speaks to Islamic terrorism in this current day and age I would have thought, maybe I'm incorrect in my assumption? The only missing piece that obviously creates significant doubt is the typical Islamic shooter or bomber etc usually leaves a trail...but on second thoughts many don't, usually the group they are affiliated to makes the claim, would that be right?

I didn't expect you to know so its ok, however I'm not in Australia at the moment and my intent is not to humiliate or belittle you nor am I playing "armchair detective". I work throughout the Middle East and have done so for approx. 26 years in the security field. I spent 13 years in the military (discharged in 2003) and have worked with many US counterparts. A lot of my time now is spent in the middle east i.e. Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Kurdistan, Turkey, Israel, Gaza and a few other places. I have closely followed ISIS TTP's since 2012, prior to that they were known as "Al Qaeda in Iraq" which should be common knowledge by now and my life could at times depend on knowing and forecasting certain AQ/IS tactics on any given task. In my current line of work we watch and study many of the Jihadi groups closely - ISIS, AQ, Haqqani, Taliban and many others. I am not dogmatic that ISIS are involved, however its my experience and research that forms my opinion. ISIS, although it has at times confused itself with ownership of some attacks, (which can occur when your sympathisers and soldiers have restricted means of communications and are spread across continents), rarely claims attacks it doesn't have a hand in. The line of thought that ISIS claims any and every attack is complete fallacy to anyone who has some in-depth knowledge of the groups Modus Operandi. Consideration must also be given into IS losing ground and hence needing a victory...it would go against their recent history or MO, but at the same time cannot be totally discounted. Lastly, when the dust settles I certainly wouldn't be surprised if this mass murderer acted alone, nor would I be surprised if he had help or was proven to have links to radicals. My point is, do not totally dismiss IS involvement just yet. God Bless

These certainly aren't my silly ideas. I'm simply posting information that is being reported...some of that information is from individuals directly involved in the investigation. Please take the time to click on the links provided so you have a better understanding.

POLICE don’t believe the killer who orchestrated America’s deadliest mass shooting acted alone, saying they’re looking into the possibility Stephen Paddock had an accomplice. Sheriff Joseph Lombardo of Clark County is leading the investigation into Sunday’s attack, which killed 58 people and injured 489 others, and gave a startling update today. He said the sheer volume of weapons, careful planning and discovery of explosives pointed to the fact that “he had to have some help”. Paddock fired thousands of rounds of bullets from broken windows on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel on the famed casino strip and as more details emerge, a picture of his meticulous organisation is emerging. “You look at the weapon obtaining, the different amounts of Tannerite (explosives) available, do you think this was all accomplished on his own?” Sheriff Lombardo said. “On face value, you’ve got to make the assumption he had to have some help at some point, and we want to ensure that that’s the answer.” Police have uncovered almost 50 weapons and stockpiles of ammunition from the hotel room as well as Paddock’s homes. “Maybe he’s a super guy that was working this all out on his own, but it would be hard for me to believe that,” the sheriff said. “Here’s the reason why: Put two and two together. Another residence in Reno with several firearms, electronics and everything else associated with large amounts of ammo, a place in Mesquite, we know that he had a girlfriend. Do you think this is all self-facing? An individual, without talking to somebody, just sequestered among themselves? I mean, come on folks.” Authorities have released a timeline of events from the start of Paddock’s mayhem to the moment a SWAT team blasted their way into his suite. Paddock began firing at 10.05pm local time (4.05pm AEDT) and Sheriff Lombardo revealed first responding officers were one level below by 10.12pm and in the hallway near his room not long after. http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/stephen-paddocks-australian-girlfriend-marilou-danley-still-a-person-of-interest/news-story/e7d25905a726178465e9c5941e46faa9 .

Not at all, I would call it not putting ones head in the sand and remaining open to the possibility they are responsible.

Do they? I wouldn't hold my breathe waiting for the FBI.

Was Las Vegas a Jihad Attack? There is scant reason to doubt ISIS’ claim of responsibility. October 3, 2017 Robert Spencer Memphis imam Yasir Qadhi said that the Las Vegas massacre was a manifestation of “white privilege.” Texas imam Omar Suleiman tweeted ridicule of ISIS’ claim of responsibility for the attack: “Breaking: ISIS claims responsibility for hurricane Harvey saying he became Muslim days before hitting Houston.” They didn’t ridicule the ISIS claim, but unnamed U.S. officials did decisively dismiss it: Reuters reported that “two senior US officials said on Monday that there was no evidence that the shooter who killed at least 50 people in Las Vegas was tied to any international militant group….One of the two US officials discounted Islamic State’s claim of responsibility and said there was reason to believe that the shooter, whom police identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, had a history of psychological problems.” The only one insisting that the Islamic State was responsible was the Islamic State itself. Its Amaq news agency initially announced: “The Las Vegas attack was carried out by a soldier of the Islamic State and he carried it out in response to calls to target states of the coalition. The Las Vegas attacker converted to Islam a few months ago.” Then, after its initial claim was dismissed everywhere, the Islamic State doubled down, issuing an official communiqué identifying Paddock as “Abu Abd Abdulbar al-Ameriki.” Even after their claim was dismissed everywhere, they didn’t back away from it. They don’t seem to be afraid that Stephen Paddock will turn out to be a white supremacist neo-Nazi or some such. They don’t seem to be worried about being exposed as grandiose liars. And historically, they haven’t been liars, at least when they claimed responsibility for jihad attacks. Islamic State expert Graeme Wood notes in The Atlantic that “the idea that the Islamic State simply scans the news in search of mass killings, then sends out press releases in hope of stealing glory, is false,” and that those who claim that ISIS is in the habit of taking credit for attacks it had nothing to do with “do not have a preponderance of prior examples on their side.” Contradicting Suleiman’s ridicule, Wood notes: “The Islamic State does not claim natural disasters. Its supporters rejoice in them, but they reserve their official media for intentional acts.” Cont... http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/268037/was-las-vegas-jihad-attack-robert-spencer

Islamic State issues new video claiming Las Vegas massacre is revenge for US attacks on their caliphate October 4, 201710:36 am By Robert Spencer No one believes them, but the Islamic State continues to claim the Las Vegas shooting. “ISIS release new video, bragging that Las Vegas shooting is REVENGE for US attacks against their ‘caliphate,’” by Gareth Davies, Mailonline, October 3, 2017: Islamic State has released a new video bragging that the Las Vegas massacre was revenge for US attacks against their caliphate. In what appears to be a desperate publicity stunt, the terror group claimed the horrific acts of Stephen Paddock, 64, were down to them, saying they radicalised him months before he shot 58 people dead and injured 527 more on Sunday night. He then committed suicide. FBI officials rubbished the claims, saying he had no affiliation to any terrorist organisations, but the Islamic extremists took to their propaganda news agencies to spread the word. The latest to emerge is on the pro-ISIS Al-Battar Media Foundation who released a two-minute video in English titled Rightful Revenge, unearthed by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). The video presents excerpts from an eye- witness’s testimony about the attack, from statements by the Las Vegas Sheriff, and from an old recording by British ISIS executioner Mohamed Emawzi, who became known as Jihadi John. In his speech, he says that attacks on Muslims would result in bloodshed in the aggressors’ home countries. A written message appearing on the screen declares that the film is ‘a message to America and her allies from the Islamic State,’ that ‘as you kill us in our country, we will kill you in your country’. It also shows the scene of the atrocity from above awash with blood with the caption ‘we are back because of your arrogant foreign policy towards the Islamic State’. The video also singles out Donald Trump, insisting the President had ignored their previous ‘serious’ warnings. A song, featured regularly in previous Arabic propaganda videos, plays in the background with the lyrics ‘Oh, my brothers, jihad is the way, to bring back the honour, the glorious day. The promise of Allah will always remain, the fight for his sake is the ultimate gain’. Yesterday, the terror group put out a statement claiming shooter Stephen Paddock was a ‘soldier of the Islamic State’. But the FBI dismissed the claim – saying there was nothing in Paddock’s background to suggest he had become a follower of Isis…. https://www.jihadwatch.org/2017/10/islamic-state-issues-new-video-claiming-las-vegas-massacre-is-revenge-for-us-attacks-on-their-caliphate

ISIS hails Las Vegas shooter as “lion of tawhid” October 4, 201710:51 am By Robert Spencer “Tawhid” is Islamic monotheism. “ISIS Supporters Rejoice At Las Vegas Attack On Social Media: ‘What Now Trump? You Banned “Radicalized Muslims” From Traveling To America! Allah Sent His Soldier From Within Your People,'” MEMRI, October 2, 2017: The following report is now a complimentary offering from MEMRI’s Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor (JTTM). For JTTM subscription information, click here. On October 2, 2017, the Islamic State (ISIS) news agency A’maq claimed responsibility for the previous evening’s deadly shooting attack at a country music festival in Las Vegas, in which over 50 people were killed and several hundred were wounded.[1] Police identified the attacker as 64-year-old Stephen Craig Paddock. Subsequent posts on numerous ISIS-affiliated Telegram channels noted the ISIS claim that Paddock was a recent convert to Islam. In the hours after the attack, and following the A’maq Agency claim, there have been many celebratory posts on pro-ISIS social media accounts on platforms such as Telegram, Facebook, and Instagram. The following report will include some of the reactions to the Las Vegas attack. A pro-ISIS channel named Las Vegas USA is dedicated to celebrating yesterday’s attack, criticizing President Trump, and issuing further threats. One graphic shows an image of President Trump waving on one side, and the other side of the graphic shows the aftermath of an attack. The quote featured in the graphic reads: “The so called President Trump can’t help you survive, you should be scared, long night is coming Americans, either you submit willingly or be prepared for your men to be slaughtered and your women enslaved.” In another post, the Telegram channel posted an image of Paddock with the caption: “O’ Lion of Tawhid [monotheism], May Allah Accept from you. You will be long remembered as the lion who avenged for his brothers.” A series of posts from the channel reads: “Wishing now your Puppet Presidents stopped interfering in Muslim countries!! “Take this what happened in #Orlando & #LasVegas was a taste of whats coming… “America has sunk and there is no savior, and became a prey to the caliphate in every corner of the earth. “Know that #IslamicState won’t stop fighting you in every Corner of the globe until you accept Islam or Pay Jizyah [poll-tax on Non-Muslims] with Submission. “O’ American People: You chose your own president, your Taxes money supported your army that killed Muslims, because of that you are a legitimate target for us.” Another graphic from the channel has a message in Arabic stating: “The Just terror… You claim [to uphold] justice, then we have to implement Allah’s justice on you. It is either death or paying jizyah [tax] with humiliation.” A graphic reading: “Islamic State The Caliphate USA Licking Her Wounds In Las Vegas” has been circulated on numerous pro-ISIS Telegram channels. In a conversation in the Telegram channel Muslim Tech Deen, Ya’qoob al-Kurdi stated: “Allahu Akbar I thought it was a silly white guy.” Azizz Hamdan replied: “It is a white guy, but not so silly after all.” A message in al-Karrar stated: “So what are you waiting for brothers? You complain doors of hijrah are closed! What’s stopping you from opening doors of jihad in your cities? Can’t you kill a kafir [infidel] steal his car & run over the other kuffar? Can’t you stab a kafir with a knife? Can’t you crush his skull with stones?” Al-Karaar circulated a graphic that reads: “Islamic State The Caliphate USA Where is your security? In Las Vegas A Single Mujahid Look At What He Has Done To You.” An additional caption reads: “What now Trump? You tweeted UK had attacker in sight, what about your agencies in your backyard?”… https://www.jihadwatch.org/2017/10/isis-hails-las-vegas-shooter-as-lion-of-tawhid

This writing is to examine the main viewpoints on when the Rapture occurs with regard to the time of the final seven years of human history, before Jesus Christ returns in the Second Coming. These final seven years are technically the 70th Week of the Seventy Weeks prophecy in Daniel chapter 9, also known as The Tribulation or the “time of Jacob’s trouble.” A quick understanding of what follows is that we will be using the logic of cause-and-effect, which is how our entire universe operates. For example, when we see “this” cause, then we also will see “that” effect. This cause-and-effect also works to help determine when the Rapture occurs in relation to the time of the Tribulation. There are four main viewpoints: 1) Pre-Trib (the Rapture happens before the Tribulation) 2) Mid-Trib (the Rapture happens at the middle of the Tribulation) 3) Pre-Wrath (the Rapture happens after the middle but before the end) 4) Post-Trib (the Rapture happens at the end of the Tribulation) http://www.raptureready.com/2017/10/01/cause-effect-proving-rapture-correct-paul-kocourek/

I train on a weekly basis, M4 5.56, Glock 9mm etc. I would expect most responsible people planning on purchasing a weapon would seek to become competent in its use. But yes, someone who has never fired a weapon to go out and purchase one then never seek to learn and train up on that weapon system is inadvisable.

So you are against having a military? Someone walks into your home, threatens your child and you will stand there and just allow it to happen? I believe scripture does not condemn the use of self defence nor the use of military force. The OT is full of accounts of God being with the Jews in fighting their enemies. David and Goliath, another and well known example among numerous others.

I believe we have a responsibility to protect those who cannot protect themselves e.g. the defenceless, the widows, the children, our neighbours, the poor and those closest to us - our families. People say, that's the reason why we have law enforcement, however, how often are law enforcement at the scene at the time the crime is being perpetrated? I will not have my family suffer a lifetime of trauma or become victims because I was unable to defend them. The standard reaction time for law enforcement where I live is 20 minutes, most crimes however are committed well under that timeframe. I sincerely believe Christ watches over us, and in prayer we often ask for His protection. But I recall God mentioned the value of wisdom and prudence as well. Luke 22:36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Hi HisFirst, Yes I read that, have to admit I initially thought it was a terrorist attack. Apparently the shooter was a 64 year old white male. No doubt a lot more to come out as investigations continue. Those poor people, like lambs to the slaughter, what a world we live in. My prayers will be with them tonight. After interviewing the 62-year-old, Las Vegas police issued a statement confirming they don’t believe Danley was involved in the shooting. http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/national/las-vegas-shooting-female-person-of-interest-former-gold-coast-resident/news-story/cedeba1038e3f79f0d4217b09ecd9778
