  1. Yes, you're right. It can be very confusing, but, who cares?
  2. Hello Journey. Yes, I rechecked, and no, it's not a KJV 1611. It has no apocrypha, prayers to the dead, etc. It does have a Bible plan though, and maps, and the different miracles of Jesus, the parables, verses when in need of help, and it also has a concordance. On the second page of the my KJV Bible, it says "Authorized King James version." Is that a different translation from the normal KJV? God bless you brothers and sisters.
  3. Applaud! Applaud! Great post Zebulon! You hit the nail right on the spot. God bless you brother.
  4. Quote from The Journey: Yes it does seem very majestic. It seems so common to me now. I do enjoy the style, literature, the grammar structure, and the wording. It's written like the Merchant of Venice, in Old English. To be more specific, I use the KJV 1611. Yes, it is very old ( about 20 years old.) I use it for my preaching, and I use it to study. I could possibly pick up an ESV, which I have heard is very good, I would rather stick to the ones I use currently. God bless you brother.
  5. Interesting... So I guess it depends on point of view and the sect of Catholicism? Different people and different sects think differently of where Satan is. Well, we know that satan is far from hell, but is in heaven ( the first or second heaven) accusing us day and night. God bless you Zebulon.
  6. Well thank you brother. The Bible I study from? Well, I mostly study with the KJV, but also use the NASB. I do enjoy the translation of the NASB, but I like the KJV better, because of how it was written. I like the way it was written. God bless you Journey.
  7. Ah, catsmeow was a general in the army? Wow! I wish I were. Of course, I have other things to do, like preach and learn about the Bible. And, I don't think I would have the courage, like catsmeow had. God bless you, Steve. And God bless you catsmeow.
  8. Thank you Zebulon. So we know that Satan isn't in hell. Christians should know that by now. But the RCC believes he is already in hell. Is that true?
  9. Yeah, I know what you mean. It's very strange ( I mean, how it was spoken is strange.) But, you eventually learn to read it properly.
  10. Many believe that Satan has been in hell ever since the fall. Do you believe this? Why? I can tell you why I don't. It would contradict Revelation 12:7-10, and 20:10. Satan has never been in hell. If you can find me ONE scripture on satan being in Hell presently, show it to me. God bless you brothers and sisters/
  11. Matthew 24:4-8 " And Jesus answered, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in My name, saying, I am Christ; and shall decive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." Many of these things have happened and are continuing to happen each day. There are many who claim they are Christ. There are a lot of earthquakes, especially in cities built on fault lines. There are famines, in Africa, and some in Asia. Pestilence, oh yeah. SARS, west nile, mad cow, monkey pox, AIDS, HIV, you name it. And all the people dying of cancer. It's on the rise each year! And we did hear about wars, and they did happen. Nation aganist nation: US/ Britain and Iraq, US and Afghanistan, war on terrorism, gulf war. Most of these things have been fulfilled already, are being fulfilled today, and will continue to be fulfilled. God bless you brothers and sisters.
  12. Revelation 9:1 " And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fell from heaven unto the earth: and to HIM was given the key of the bottomless pit." Now this I have examined very closely, and I have made a hypothesis. 1) It is Satan, or one of his elite demons, who is casted down. This can't be a normal star we see in the sky, for a few reasons: a. It is referred to as a HE, which usually means of male gender. Gaseous stars have genders? b. A gaseous star can't be given anything ( that would be illogical ) c. Gravity d. A normal star would char the Earth before even arriving here e. Would eliminate the rest of Revelation's prophecies. Wouldn't it? This basically counts out any space object: asteroid, meteor, comet, etc. Now, it can't be Jesus, for He is in His time of glory. This would totally contradict the book if Jesus fell. It can't be the Antichrist, nor the False Prophet, because they are introduced after Satan falls. I believe it is Satan, or one of his elite demons ( if he has any ). Why?: a. Satan was referred to as the Morning Star when he was Lucifer, as are angels referred to stars. b. Satan has fallen before. c. Satan is evil, so he will do anything to destroy God's people However, I also think this is a briefing of Revelation 12:7-10. I think after Satan fell, he was given the key to the bottomless pit. What are your opinions?
  13. There are twenty one generations from Adam to Isaac. Adam------------------------------------------------130 Seth-------------------------------------------------105 Enos---------------------------------------------------90 Cainan------------------------------------------------70 Mahalalel---------------------------------------------65 Jared-------------------------------------------------162 Enoch--------------------------------------------------65 Methusaleh-----------------------------------------187 Lamech----------------------------------------------182 Noah-------------------------------------------------500 Seth--------------------------------------------------102 Arphaxad---------------------------------------------35 Salah--------------------------------------------------30 Eber---------------------------------------------------34 Peleg--------------------------------------------------30 Reu----------------------------------------------------32 Serug--------------------------------------------------30 Nahor--------------------------------------------------29 Terah---------------------------------------------------70 Abraham---------------------------------------------100 _______________________________________ 2048 years So from Adam to Isaac, there were 21 generations, spanning 2048 years. To get the average age of a generation, let's divide. 2048/ 21 = 97.5 years Wow! The average age of a generation was 97.5 years.
  14. Quote from Catsmeow: This means that God calls many to believe Him and accept as their Savior, but few will be chosen to be of God's flock. I hope this helps catsmeow. God bless you.
  15. What is your favourite Bible tanslation? Which one do you study from? Do you believe all of them are correct? Why or why not?
  16. Jesus always taught to love one another. He wanted us to love our neighbours and enemies alike. Jesus loved, so can you. Matthew 5:44 "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you, and persecute you;" Later in Matthew, Jesus mentions that besides loving Him and the Father, the second greatest commandment is love your neighbours. John also says this in the book of John. Matthew 23:37-39 "Jesus said unto them, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God, with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." John 15:12 "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." Ephesians talks about loving one another as well, but also how God loves us. Ephesians 4:2 "With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;" Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corruptness proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." Ephesians 4:32 "And be ye kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." Ephesians 5:1-2 "Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour." After hearing all this, we should know, love is the most important emotion to have. Love is what Jesus taught us to have. It is what will save us. God bless you brothers and sisters.
