  1. Thank you for sharing. Please pray for her. Her name is Wendy.
  2. I didn't know what to categorize this question/ discussion under, and because Christianity stems from Judaism and the Hebrew OT, I thought it could go under this category. I have a Jewish friend who tells me that I can't understand the Old Testament unless I read it in Hebrew. She says that there is a numerical way of understanding the Hebrew Bible (our OT). Although I believe that God isn't limited by language to communicate His truth to us, my friend believes that we cannot understand the meaning of the OT if we merely read it in English. She says that in Isaiah 9, virgin isn't the correct translation. Can anyone help me to understand the Hebrew number system because I don't know what she is talking about and I want to learn what I can to help her know that Jesus is the Messiah. Thank you for your help.

  8. It says somewhere in the new testament that not many of us should be teachers. I've been wondering if sharing the gospel is the same as teaching? Should only those who have the gift of teaching share the gospel then? I used to share the gospel more, but now I'm hesitating because I don't want to be a teacher as not many of us should be teachers, and I've never wanted to be a teacher in the church. However, I'm wondering about sharing the gospel with those who are not in the church. Are all Christians called to share the gospel verbally with unbelievers or only teachers? - Confused.
  9. In Proverbs, it is mentioned that we shouldn't hang around someone given to anger lest we learn their ways. Since we all get angry sometimes, at what point is someone too angry to be around? I work around someone who has lost their temper about once every other week, on average - sometimes less, sometimes more. I've been praying that he wouldn't get angry and I hope and think he is somewhat better. I also work with another person who loses their temper at least once per week. I'm also praying that they would not, and I think it has helped some, but I'm concerned about what to do if they don't improve. I don't want it to rub off on me. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this.
  10. Yes, I guess the opposite of fun shows that He does want us to have fun.
