About Me

This is the description that I use on my blog site, but it bears repeating.

Raised in church, practically born there, but that does not put the love of God in you. I even came to a place where picking up the bible was a drudgery; I had heard it all before, but something changed in me and I cannot put a finger on it. No, it did not happen overnight, it happened over time. I believe that part of this desire, much like eating, has to do with my own acceptance and declaration that I love God's word and cannot get enough.

I am not superman, and if so I have irresponsibly left my super cape lying somewhere, forgetting where it was, or forgetting to put it on enough times that there are more than a couple of people in this world that have their doubts as to whether I am a Christian at all. I can tell you this; that even in the worst of times, and there were a couple of bad ones, I have always been aware of God's love for me. Imagine that, even while the world was yet sinners Christ died for us.

I have even struggled with the concept of why Christ's death, which removed the sin, leaving me with only a choice to make, did not purge me, removing the desire to sin. This is something that Paul spoke of as well. I have come to the conclusion that sin must be looked at much like a genetic disposition. Yes, Jesus death removed the legal ramifications leaving only our need to accept his life in and toward us, but my bent toward death, like alcohol to some, must be refused on a daily basis. Thankfully that becomes easier and easier every day.

I will tell you that as I have gotten older one thing is becoming very clear: The greatest thing that we can do in this battle that we wage is to pray. I hear a loud call to prayer, especially for the Muslims caught up in the deception of Islam. Pray that this nation is protected by God as heartily as you might pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray for Christians in the Islamic nations, that God's hand covers them. Pray that leaders move and act in accordance with God's plan. (Trust me on this - God's will and Word will be performed.)

I firmly believe that there are mere minutes left before His return for his church, which is his body.

If you do nothing else then Pray, pray, and pray some more.
