  1. I like the bible version in saying the birds arrived along with the fish and the dinosaurs(creatures) were developed later and they will remain after the Tribulation. To think birds have been here from the beginning, the most beautiful and perfect animal. They are worthy of our upmost respect.
  2. I agree, their speculations are a bit fuzzy. Are you so insecure as to be threatened by this? The light of the Gospel shines through their fog. Balancing the Faith in the Gospel on these extraneous issues will not fulfill God's will. Let them believe what they must. Those who are called are not stumbled by this, or they should not be.
  3. Evolutionist are over their head fathoming God's mysteries. They are doing the best they can. Their curiosity is healthy, challenging us to have a better understanding of our own beliefs. The Rock of the Gospel stays firmly planted against this modern storm. The creation stories are showing some undercut and should not be the object of our faith on par with the Gospel.
  4. I do not recall saying evolutionist have the complete picture with verified truth. Just would say they have uncovered something interesting about biology in general at best.
  5. The issue is way more complicated than the hated Evolutionist. They are the least of the problems. Why fixate on them? How about the astronomer, astrophysicist, paleontologist and geologist. The majority of them believe in a divine being. I guess everyone could really be that bigoted and stupid, if you say so.
  6. I study the current understanding of the sciences and can personally tell you that the view you offered of their beliefs is a gross distortion, detached from their speculations and verified research. Where did you learn that information?
  7. Well, modern science let the cat out of the bag. It is time to man up and admit to not having all the answers to everything. The Torah is like infants milk to today's post-Gospel spiritual standards. It would be humble to suggest the stories were the word of God before the Torah, to foster the faith and glory of God to the fledgling Israelite's weaning off the creation narratives invented in Babel.
  8. Wisdom is recognizing the limits of ones own knowledge. It is not about how much is known, but about perceiving the extent of what is not known.
  9. I think there is confusion with the Bible and the understanding we can perceive. Our interpretations of the information offered is not automatically flawless and instep with God's unfathomable ways. Outside the acceptance of the salvation from Jesus we have mostly personal opinions.
  10. This has nothing to do with that. Evolutionist and Creationist can't be brought together because everyone has a limited understanding. We become as foolish as they do when declaring to have all the answers.
  11. Yes, God called day and night a day, but the other day references could reasonably be personal days from His perspective. The time frame would be somewhere between one zeptosecond to infinity for each day independently. From our limited view of nature there seems to of been wild variations in the time scales provided.
  12. "They do not know everything, but what they know they truly know because they have met and accepted Jesus personally as Lord and Savior. Unlike the others, the man humbly begins with his limitations in knowledge." John 9:25-29 "Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready." 1 Corinthians 3:1-2 "Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture!" I Corinthians 13:9 "And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know." 1 Corinthians 8:2 "Let no one deceive himself. If any of you thinks he is wise in this age, he should become foolish, so that he may become wise." 1 Corinthians 3:18 “Can you discover the depths of God? Can you discover the limits of the Almighty? Job 11:7 "Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it." Psalm 139:6 "Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!" Romans 11:33
  13. Yes, our beliefs are limited. It is silly to think God is providing us with the complete picture. It is also questionable if someone proclaims they alone have all the answers. There is a reason there are 45,000 denominations. Scripture is not that crystal clear. The problem is not God, it is limits of human capacity to understand and to preserve faith for our immature spirituality.
  14. The six days of creation are not vague at all as long as you don't study astrophysics, genetics, geology, paleontology, archeology or anthropology. Having faith in something is good. I choose to promote faith in the Gospel than demand allegiance to ancient erudition as a condition for salvation.
  15. All the Bible is inspired by God. It is written to cater to the understanding of those it concerns. The context changes from one generation to the next as Israel of God grows. Abraham's knowledge is different from Moses as it is from Isaiah to the Apostles. Because earlier scripture can be more vague, God's inspiration is still in it.
  16. That's taking it to an extreme. A subtle understanding of a scriptures history, context and etymology is helpful. Taking everything literal according to our personal point of view as it is written in English is not the best approach.
  17. The creation stories were told by ancient Israelite's passing down the knowledge of God's glory to the next generation. Well before the Torah. It shares some similarity with the pagan version when it come to the breath of life, but a central difference was that Israel's God creates on His own, with no divine melodrama or lengthy plot.
  18. It might also be safe to not include the 613 laws of Torah to the Gospel of Faith. Or, should we give a literal interpretation of that as well. What if we found a kitten in a drain one day on Saturday and faced this moral conundrum?
  19. Pushing the creation stories as a condition of Christian faith causes derision and strife. This hinders would be believers sense the literal interpretation has contradictions to itself, with other creation narratives in the Bible and with observations in nature outside of the question of man's origin. Modification of biology is the least of the problems.
  20. Of course God created man under special circumstances. I choose to push the Gospel as the narrative of faith. We should not add to it. I will marginalize the scientific validity of the creation stories just to hinder Creationist fanaticism from inserting itself into the message of salvation. The stories are a child's introduction to God's glory.
  21. The creation stories were narratives passed down over the generations for etiological purposes before entering the Bible. They are not revelations of God given to a prophet. All three creation narratives contradict each other. How can we demand a consensus among non-Christians? Only sinful man rejects God as source of life. Maybe, Jesus should be the foundation of their faith.
  22. The creation stories reveal the glory and power of God. We have no basis for saying that it ‘reveals’ scientific theories.
  23. Are you saying the meaning of words are clear and obvious? Should we all agree on your interpretations without creative thinking or critical analysis, least we find ourselves against God?
  24. We need a hermeneutic that reads scripture through the lens of Jesus Christ and through his incarnation, life, death, resurrection, ascension, and future hope. We believe in the bible because we believe in God, not vice versa. The question of Adam and Eve is a theological question. It isn’t really a scientific question. Nor can it be decided by submission to the allusions of Jesus recorded in the gospels.
