The new earth only comes after 1000 years of Jesus reigning with His people on earth. It is in that time that men on earth will again live many centuries. (and the other changes mentioned) Just before that time there is a great shaking of the planet. Also referred to as the biggest earthquake that ever existed in the history of the world. So big all the buildings come down and even the mountains will be shaken down! At that also it says that all islands move from where they were. It is then that God rescues the new believers from that 1000 years, and utterly destroys all wicked people on earth with fire from heaven. Then the earth is made new as well as the universe. One reason I like that translation is because something else happened around the time of that division. Spirits no longer married women or apparently were able to live here in the physical realm on earth. The spiritual in a way then, 'split' or divided as well. Another reason the separation of spirits from this physical world is interesting is because in the probably very near future we will again see spirits on earth! They also again have the super long lifespans. I even think that once again the continents will go back together.

It is certain that if the world was together (and it was) that the best and probably only place in the bible it is mentioned is when God scattered the people and the world was divided. If we consider that a year in the pre flood time was 360 days rather than the current approx 365 days, then we are looking at a change of about 1.38% Another item we may want to take a look at is gravity. Unless forces were the very same in the former world, who is to say if gravity was exactly the same? Or, who is to say there may not also have been another force(s) that may have affected gravity? After all the giant blocks of the pyramid 30 stories high or whatever are a mystery. How did they get them up there? Who knows? If any small change in gravity occurred then the orbit of earth around the sun may have been impacted! Who knows? It does not seem to be a sound proposition to insist no changes did or could have happened, and that the old world records just have to be a mistake. There are certain evidences that would fit with gravity in the past being somewhat different. One possibility is a fossilized bird they found that is so big they don't think it could get off the ground today!(of course they invent ways such as jumping off a cliff every time it wanted to fly etc) Who really knows?

If the dates are wrong both would exist. Comparing same state past belief dates with other same state past belief based dates gives us nothing but circular reasoning. Whatever dates we use the simple fact is that animals that were able to be fossilized lived at a time when continents were joined. Using the bible I know when that time was. I also know that the fossil samples we have do not represent a broad swath of life on earth. Man also existed when the dinosaurs walked the earth. Sorry that you dream dates and your belief basis used in modelling the past and interpreting evidence is fatally skewed. I would have thought that being a Christian means there is an easy fix for that problem. Only believe. There is no calibration. It is ALL based on the same belief.
