From what I'm seeing, the Prophecy of the Popes is considered a forgery and not scripture at all. I don't give much weight to it...seems like the subject always comes up when it's time for a new Pope. Apparently it wasn't discovered until 1590, 400 years after Malachi's death...and the prophecies of each Pope leading up to 1590 was extremely accurate, then became vague for every Pope thereafter.

So, since the news broke about the death of Pope Francis this morning, I have been seeing posts everywhere saying that the "next" Pope will be the false prophet or "the last" Pope...but for years, I've seen people claim that Pope Francis was the last. I'm sure they are referring to The Pope Prophecy by St. Malachy. Any ideas or opinions on this?

Marijuana Legalization
Firebirdman55 replied to other one's topic in Most Interesting News Developments
I do agree with Marijuana for medicinal use, if a physician thinks someone will benefit from it. I've personally seen benefits in those who have epilepsy, Parkinson's Disease, cancer...etc. Just for recreational use to get "high", I don't support it. It is still illegal here in Kentucky. -
Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

Why Do Christians Always Point to Prophecy?

I do believe the end is not yet. -
Why Do Christians Always Point to Prophecy?

The date setting and the redundant story of “This is the sign” is what has me so concerned. I believed 4-5 years ago His return was imminent, as in tomorrow...but it bothered me as I looked for certain signs that Christians had given me. They came to pass and it hurt my belief, for a short while. I know now to take heed and don’t believe everything you read or hear. -

We should be, but not buying into false doctrines and believing in things outside of scripture. We could have a second or a million years before His return. They are buying into false beliefs that everything is a sign and that of which has brought so much wealth to those who believe in man. -

I always say the same and am met with disagreement. There has always been wars, pestilence, riots and civil unrest. People always look to what is happening currently as THE sign. -

I’m definitely NOT a Biden supporter, but people have been saying that about every President. I remember when people said the same of Reagan. -

Yes...even looking at COVID. We’ve had Polio, Spanish Flu, Bubonic Plague...etc. So much has happened in our world since the beginning of time and it’s hard to decipher with some folks claiming everything is a sign. -
Just a question...anytime something bad happens in the world, why do Christians always say it’s a sign and the end is near. I cannot tell you how much I see this on a daily basis. Wars and other catastrophes have been happening for thousands of years...and sometimes I think it hurts us and makes people who are not Christians run further from the truth. People start date setting and everything when events unfold. I do believe in the Bible, but I don’t believe that everything that happens is a sign.

I’ve been watching this today. Could this really be the beginning of the fulfillment of THE covenant with many?
-
That is exactly what I’ve been keeping up with and wondering myself. I posted a topic on the forum not long ago about this. I’m curious whether this is truly “THE COVENANT” or not.

Trump has supported our right to religion, against abortion, supports Israel, supports our veterans...I could go on all day. In my opinion, the greatest President we’ve ever had. I’m glad he’s in office and pray every chance I get for four more years. If Hillary had won, we’d really be in a mess. If you support the other side, I suppose you’re for pedophilia and the killing of innocent babies. We need someone to stand up to the deep state.

Yes. I’m just trying to connect dots. Trump is amazing, and I don’t believe in any way that he’s the AC...just curious what meaning these recent events have.

With the announcement of the UAE’s peace treaty and today Kosovo’s recognition of Israel and the moving of the embassy to Jerusalem ...is this THE covenant with many?
-
Some are now claiming that this is the beginning of the covenant with many.

I, for one, am optimistic that things will get better. It’s just been a rough year.

I didn’t say it was the agreement, I asked if it was.
-
I just realized Israel also signed these peace treaties with Jordan in 1994 and Egypt in 1979. So I’m not sure if this has any more significance than those.
-
It was just announced that an agreement was signed between Israel and UAE. Is this THE peace treaty that we’ve all been waiting for?

I have also understood it this way. When the last one dies from that generation, the generation has passed away. In 1988, everyone was saying it was 40 years...then in 2018, 70 years. There is so much confusion in Bible prophecy and how others interpret it. I’ve learned to be very careful of what I read and try to understand.
