Iamlamad, After reading your response more carefully, it looks like you believe you have it figured out that the mark of the beast is a future event. Then why mention the bit about the beheadings in the French Revolution?

Thanks for the response. As a student, I always hated history. Could you explain how the beheadings during the French revolution (or otherwise) were related to those peoples' inability to engage in commerce or "buying and selling"? Thanks!

Hi I've lurked here on and off over the past several years. There is something I'd like to ask about the mark of the beast. Can it be said that it must be in the future because there has never been a historical record of people being beheaded for refusing it? Has there been any historical accounts of such a thing taking place? "And I saw thrones and they that sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them. And I saw the souls of them that had been beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the Word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast, nor his image, nor had received his mark upon their foreheads or on their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years" Thanks!

I have wondered for quite some time about this piece of scripture. What in the world is a rumor of war? How could people falsely believe that a war is taking place? Has something like this happened in the past that I'm not aware of? I'm surprised I've never heard any discussion about this as I'm sure others have likely wondered just what in the world Jesus was referring to.

There is a news story that says the largest vaccine manufacturer in the world (which is India) caught fire. To be honest, this has made me wonder about my original position on the matter which was that the vaccine could not be the mark of the beast. Could it be just a coincidence? Yes Could it be under God's providence as a sign? Yes Just wanted to share this with all of you.

Josheb, I understand that you believe that the mark of the beast had to be something that the original authors would understand. The thing I don't understand is what you believe was the fulfillment of the mark. Perhaps I glossed over it...but I have been reading the thread and still don't know what historical event satisfied it.

I disagree but that has nothing to do with my point(s) here in this discussion First I just want to let everyone know this wasn't a nightmare I had. They were thoughts that occurred in the wee hours of the night when I had trouble sleeping. Josheb, would you mind sharing what event fulfilled the mark of the beast?

I'm really confused. You seem to think that the horrors talked about in Revelation should not incite fear in us...which I can understand if you believe we will be raptured before the tribulation. Or do you believe we will go through the tribulation but have the inner peace that God offers us by believing that Heaven is so close at hand? There is something in there about those having the seal of God being protected from some torment...this is all a learning experience for me so pardon my ignorance. The one thing I do know almost certainly is that nobody seems to agree on this stuff so finding the truth is rather difficult.

If I may play devil's advocate, how do you suspect Daniel felt after his visions of the beasts? Not so warm and fuzzy I would imagine.

What could be so bad about getting a vaccine that God would damn someone to hell? Not to mention vaccines have been given countless times in the past. Why would this one be any different?

It's one of those nights where I just can't sleep. In the middle of the night, I get this idea that I could have been wrong about this thread. I get the thought that the image of the beast is the caduceus, or the snake wrapped around the rod, which is the symbol for Healthcare. It's worth noting, however, that Satan could plant thoughts in our heads, and I'm certain that he has done so in my past. I hope I'm wrong about this... err right about the title of the thread.

I believe I've heard the argument (from scripture) that the body is for glorifying God. If one was to accept a piece of technology inside the body, it could be argued it's a big no no. Could technology be one of the beasts talked about in scripture?

Some of the viewpoints on the site, endtimestruth.com, are very convincing. Have you guys been on there?
