  1. Thank you for your response. I do understand that many of the people involved in A.R.E have ties to the occult and that is a shame. I do know Casey believed Christ is the messiah and the son of God. You really can't judge Casey on what others have done or distorted what he had accomplished. I have not read all his readings or his books that today are really authored by people like Mr. Horowitz, and I have not read anything of his. Actually I just find what he did for the medical community pretty impressive for a guy with a very limited education. As for the New Age movement that started in my generation, better known as the free love, and hippy group. I'm a baby boomer.
  2. Well Sir, I'm just a student if you will, have never taught any bible studies. What you are missing is that I'm speaking of the New Testament, as well as the old. The Gnostics couldn't understand the nature of God in the old testament verses what Jesus taught. I think it was the Armenians that didn't want anything Paul wrote included in the New Testament. When I speak of the orthodox bible, I'm speaking of the bible we have today, not what the Jews had prior the Christ coming. Based on the old testament prophesies and Jesus fulfilling those prophesies, as well as the his miracles and the resurrection there is no question as to whether He was the promised messiah, He is. One of my weaknesses is I look at things from a scientific and realistic viewpoint so grasping some spiritual truth don't come easy for me. That is why I have an issue with people claiming the bible is totally God inspired because God would not have made the errors that are present in or current protestant bible. One Christian that had a remarkable near death experience claims the bible truths are more spiritual truths than literal ones, and that I can easily accept because it makes sense to me.
  3. What was evil about what he did? Do you realize how many people he helped, his readings were never greed based and insisted that "one must oft be in prayer". When you pray, who are your praying to, our Heavenly Father, God, Jesus Christ and through the Holy Spirit. The occult seeks evil, Christians seek good, prayer is communication with the spiritual world. I find it interesting that many people have opinions based on hearsay and don't know the facts.
  4. So what your are saying is the bible we were given by the Catholic church was wrong for including those books. Based on your statement then we must assume that the New Testament was not God inspired. What was it in those books you found that wasn't orthodox? How can you say "they were never part of God's word". Don't you realize that's what is considered orthodox is what the Catholic church gave us for a bible, and those books were considered orthodox by the Catholic church. Don't you realize that what we have for a bible is what they gave us? When you read the apocrypha's that were found in 1945 it becomes obvious that there were many different schools of thought regarding Christ's teachings. To me what should be the focus is what Jesus wanted to teach all of us.
  5. Those letters may have been part of the Apocrypha, but the reality you really don't know because the good old pope isn't going to share the knowledge. Are you aware that the Catholic church did not ratify the New Testament until Luther came around and the reformation started. That was almost 1500 AD, they had still been arguing over what should and shouldn't be in the New Testament. Many wanted to eliminate the book of John, and Revelations. I think was the Armenian Christians that didn't want to consider any of Paul letters. How many books in the bible are there that we really don't know who the author was? I know the bible holds tremendous truths, that is without question. The problem I'm having is the concept that it is flawless, and that isn't true. Then we had the Gnostic Christians and they did have some different beliefs but not to the degree that the Catholic church stated, so you are going to trust a church that has repeatedly lied about another Christian group.
  6. You haven't noticed the Catholic bible has more books than the protestant bible. Guess we didn't like some of their books so we just through them out. I could give you a list if you want. Do you realize that the Catholics had over three hundred letters that were considered for the New Testament. They refuse to share them with the world. Wouldn't you love to see what they have hidden from us? Our bible introduces us to Jesus Christ and the way of salvation, that is without question. John 3:16 covers it pretty well.
  7. I didn't say I didn't trust what Christ said. My point that hasn't been addressed is why are there errors in the bible if it was God inspired. You say we are not responsible for what other did during the dark ages, but those are the same people that gave us the bible we have today, and also refuse to let the world see the letters that were rejected in the new testament. Based on the above responses it is obvious haven't studied Edgar Casey, yes he is unorthodox but let's face it what we consider orthodox is what the Catholic church wanted us to have and their purposes included political manipulation and manipulation of their followers. We now know they lied through their teeth regarding the Gnostic Christians that they murdered with the help of the nights of Templar. The bible is critically important to all Christians, it just has some errors and I just can't believe God authored those errors. As for Mathew 18:6, what is your point? I'm not teaching anyone, just asking questions.
  8. You say the bible is a close canon, if so why did us protestants leave out several of the books of the original bible? Not only that what about the errors in the bible, if the bible is God inspired why are there major errors? As for Edgar Casey, I find what he was able to do for people pretty amazing. When Jesus was accused of healing by the power of Satan he dealt with that by saying "a house divided will not stand." I understand that to say we must test the fruit that is produced. Let me make it clear, I'm a firm believer that Christ is the messiah, that the Holy Spirit works within each of us based on what we need to learn. I just can't buy into believing the bible we have today is completely God inspired due to the errors in it. Especially when I look at who produced it and how Christianity was miss represented for so many centuries, by groups like the nights of Templar, the various pope's, and of course the political influences.
  9. Not making money from prophesies. What about all the books various Christian leaders are publishing, there making money off of them. Pentecostals have prophetic messages all the time, I'm not endorsing them because I haven heard any earth shattering ones come to past lately. What many do not understand is many Christian believers prior to the New Testament believed in reincarnation, and I hope their wrong, wouldn't want to do this again. I have done a lot of research into near death experiences, and mainly of Christians and people that were atheist prior to their death experience and encounter with Jesus. There is a great deal of consistency in many of their testimonies and I believe well worth reading. I also think reading the apocrypha's are well wroth it. We all must remember who gave us the bible we have today, and also what us protestants did to the original cannon. I'm not endorsing anyone, I just believe looking outside the box is wise at times.
  10. Thank you all for your responses. Yes the first name was mistaken, it is Edgar Casey. As stated above a prophet is proven to be a false prophet based on inaccuracies, from what I have read no inaccuracies have been attributed to him. He never claimed to be a psychic, his claim was he had access to the hall of records in heaven, I do find that difficult to believe though. Also what he did for people was never greed based by him, so it is obvious his intent was to help others. Many of his comments advised people to pray often. Again, thanks for the responses.
  11. Well sir then we do agree. Jesus was accused of doing miracles through the power of Satan, His response was "a house divided against itself will not stand." Evil can mimic good but the fruit will be bad and that is very easy to recognize. If what you believe doesn't line up with what Jesus taught, then it is false. Someone said it is ok to hate other because of Ecclesiastes 3:8 "a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace." That is how Satan can take scripture out of context and distort what Christ taught. We just need to seek a closer walk with Him each day. Thank you for your response, and God bless.
  12. I'm wondering what most that know anything about him what your thoughts are? I have been reading some of the things he came up with and with incredible accuracy. I know he was a devout Christian but many of his insights were way outside of orthodox beliefs. How does a man with a sixth grade education come up with the amazing medical insights? I would love to hear some opinions from others that have looked into or study this man.
  13. I do have a little difficulty with your opinion. There is a big difference between listening to your own inner thoughts and those of the Holy Spirit. When my wife calls me on the phone, I don't need to wonder who it is, I instantly recognize her voice. The same holds true with the Holy Spirit, if we know Him, we don't need to question who is speaking to us. I'm one that believes once one has an encounter with the Holy Spirit His voice will always be recognized. I do agree that we need to be well versed in scripture, but I know God is still speaking to His people today, most just aren't listening or paying attention.
