  1. I believe the ultimate lesson to be learned from our lives on Earth is that we are lost without God. We can extrapolate to great lengths what that means but, essentially, I believe that is the main lesson. How about it?
  2. Please remember that your life is a gift from God. Your children, whom I presume are everything to you, are gifts from God. You are blessed in many ways that you probably don't realize. I can't speak to your specific situation because I have not walked in your shoes but you are not alone in this struggle that we call "life". This world is evil and cursed and, one day, it will cease to exist. In the meantime, we are called by our creator to walk the narrow path prescribed by him and to flee from ungodliness. We all have our cross to bear. And please also remember that Jesus lived a very modest life, never sinned, never lied, and was tortured and executed at the age of 33 and he did absolutely nothing wrong. Please remain faithful. In the end, you will be glorified beyond anything that you can imagine. Revelation 21:4 ESV He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
  3. John 19:25-27 English Standard Version 25 (A)but standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother and (B)the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, (C)“Woman, behold, your son!” 27 Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to (D)his own home.
  4. That's what Vincente Gigante is alleged to have told a federal prison healthcare worker shortly before he died, according to a book about him called "The Chin". Nowhere does the book say that Gigante expressed remorse for his countless murders, let alone repent. His statement is astonishing to me. It's amazing to me that one can consider themself to be a man of God while living a life of extreme evil.
  5. Thanks in advance. I can remember being so sick (intestinal infection) and I couldn't stop vomiting and I felt so awful that I was curled up on the floor, begging God to "take me". He didn't, of course. Instead, I was taken to the hospital and got put on antibiotics and recovered. I've been guilty many times of only reaching out to God when I needed something. I have since strived to pray to God and to thank him for my many blessings when I am NOT in need of anything at all. Anyway, your thoughts, please?
  6. I believe that something supernatural happened there but that the things she is alleged to have said are not consistent with scripture. You said that Mary is dead. Do you believe that all Christians are dead until the resurrection?
  7. Allegedly, Mary told the children to pray for the conversion of Russia. Is anyone aware of any verses in the Bible wherein God or a person of God told others to pray for a particular nation of the world?
  8. The children apparently stated that Mary instructed them to pray the rosary, which gives me pause. Jesus never instructed us to pray the rosary or to pray to Mary. For that matter, I don't have the impression that Jesus viewed Mary with any special reverence.

  10. One of the three children that Mary was alleged to appear before became a nun. The other two children both died within a couple of years of the alleged event. The children were shortly imprisoned by local authorities and, even under threat of torture and execution, the children would not recant their story, or so we're told. https://portugalonline.com/portugal/portugal-cities-towns/fatima/fatima-miracle
  11. I hear that all the time. I have no idea if that statement is accurate but, either way, it's irrelevant to me. Crediting the RCC for "creating" the Bible is like crediting Moses for writing Exodus. Neither would have happened without the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Bible exists because God willed it to exist and NOT because of any person(s) and the glory and credit for the Bible belongs only to God.
  12. Well, let's take my son's 18-year-old friend, for example. He had previously been baptized but had expressed his skepticism in God to me. I spoke to him numerous times for hours about God, the Bible, and how God loves us and wants us to live lives that make him proud to call us his children. Anyway, he shot himself in the head this past May. It's my hope and it is my believe that Jesus did save him because I know that he was, at heart, I nice person who was deeply troubled, primarily because of his divorced parents. Frankly, his father was USELESS and is himself "lost". His mother is just plain EVIL and crazy. Anway, supposing that Jesus saved him, is he then "good to go" (so to speak) or is it possible that he still has (or had) more things to learn in Heaven?
  13. Is it possible that we continue to grow in the hereafter and can them receive even greater Heavenly gifts?
