  1. Don’t know if they are effective, but I don’t like them anyway. God gave you beautiful skin. Don’t ruin it!
  2. This is the one that least of us agree on - the fourth goal of Daniel’s wonderful 70th week. (19 minutes into video if you don’t want to listen to the whole message) The Cross of Christ enabled the righteousness of Christ to be credited to those that believe on him irrespective of the wrongs they may have done. This clause of Daniel’s prophecy has been subject to confusion because commentators have focused on second coming theories, failing to recognise the centrality of the Cross in Bible prophecy. What could ‘everlasting righteousness’ possibly mean, they ask, except the millennial reign of Christ? They miss the point. Everlasting righteousness! Speaking of it, Isaiah said, “The righteous one, my servant, shall make many to be accounted righteous.” (Isaiah 53:11) Paul put it this way, “By the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous ... For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (Romans 5:18-19, 2 Cor. 5:21) It is wonder enough that God does not impute sin to the believer’s account, but what is even more astonishing is that He actually credits to our account the righteousness of Christ instead. And the promise is now! It is not a dream for some future age to come. Why did God do this? "God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement. (a propitiation) He did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.” (Romans 3:25,26)
  3. This is the one that most of us agree on - the third goal of the 70th week. (18 minutes into video if you don’t want to listen to the whole message again) The Cross of Christ reconciled us to God whose justice was satisfied by the propitiatory sacrifice of his Son. With the problem of transgression and sin dealt with, we are able to be reconciled to God. Reconciliation is what Daniel saw when he wrote in step by step order: “Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city ... to finish the transgression,to make an end of sins,to make reconciliation for iniquity” Actually, God's whole purpose in the Cross was to reconcile us to himself to bring us from separation and enmity, to peace and new relationship with him. New Testament scriptures show that ... "...we were God's enemies but we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son." (Rom. 5: 10) "... you who once were far away have been bought near by the blood of Christ." (Ephesians 2: 13) "... you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds but now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death (Colossians 1: 21-22) Old Testament scriptures show the same thing prophesied all those years before by the prophet Daniel.
  4. A fresh look at the ‘seventy weeks’ prophecy. Jesus of Nazareth is revealed as the Anointed One who finished transgression, made an end of sins, and reconciled us to God. I bought this message to our church in Easter 2019, and have only now got it on the Internet for 2023. We were doing a series. We were covering the basics so that a broad audience could enjoy the visions of Daniel without getting bogged down with debates. However, discussion is welcome on the forum. Enjoy. Easter According to Daniel (22 minutes)
  5. I have been praying for Zelensky. Its good to know that he has been praying too, but as a Jew, one more step will bring him to Jesus! Now, wouldn't that be more wonderful than a hundred Leopard tanks and F16's?
  6. President Zelensky quotes Psalm to UK parliament. Politicians need this. https://www.jpost.com/diaspora/article-730964
  7. Ive got 3 series: Rainbow, River and Rock. Yeah, Rainbow is for evangelism - my kiwiana version of the 'Alpha course' albeit shorter. I was hoping that seekers might find it here. Also, pastors can use it to give to those who express their interest in Jesus. The accompanying 'Rainbow Bible Readings' goes great in a church visitor pack.
  8. It looks like the link never worked? Here it is again. If it fails again I'll contact tech support. Sorry about that. 'Jesus - the key to understanding'
  9. My ‘Rainbow’ series has 6 parts and study 2 will be ‘Who actually is Jesus Christ?’ Study 1 concludes by emphasizing, the life and teaching of Jesus is found in the Bible. It might seem to be laboring an obvious fact, but have you noticed how in old evangelistic campaigns, thousands of people found Jesus after a good half-hour sermon about who he is, whereas in modern times we spend a little longer establishing the basics? That’s because fewer are raised in Christian homes and less to Sunday school. There are many who haven’t even read the good news. I think that in today’s generation we need to start where Luke started. Eye witnesses. The gospels were not legends, but an accurate historical record about Jesus.
  10. Lets go! Study one is called, ‘Jesus – the key to understanding.’ On the first page is a stunning picture of Lake Matheson (NZ) This glacial lake is so reflective that, if you turn the picture over, it’s hard to tell the difference. Only a simple picture, but it illustrates the opening words from the Bible’s book of Hebrews: - The Son shows exactly what God is like! Fill in the missing words from Hebrews 1:1-3 and John 14:8-9 Lets do it together. Discuss
  11. 'Rainbow Discovery' is a short series of Bible studies especially written for people interested in discovering Jesus – who he is and why he came. Free, printable PDF files will be linked here. Just print them out on standard size paper (A4 or Letter) then come back to discuss. There is also a complementary book of 'Rainbow Bible Readings'. It may be downloaded, printed, and folded into an easy reference booklet. Use A4 paper back-to-back, then fold into an easy reference booklet for completing the questions.
  12. No disagreements there brother. My last series, ‘Rock,’ may tackle a few subjects where people differ (tithing, tongues, end times etc) In such cases I try to present the major views fairly and suggest respectful discussion. Easier said than done admittedly.
  13. Hi George, My theology doesn’t have any horns and pointy tails ‘pleased to say. Here is a little about myself: Just scroll to the bottom for statement of faith. www.5loaves2fishes.net/about-us And here are the studies in 3 series. Just click the PDF icons. http://www.5loaves2fishes.net/free-resources
  14. I am a Bible study author and would like to offer my collection to this section. Couple of questions please: Are there Pastors, missionaries or group leaders who come to this forum to find studies? After a brief description, can I attach a PDF file to each post for printing? Would it be better to deposit these studies into the blog area? (or both?) Does 'Worthy' want minimum posts (or a statement of faith) before doing this? Thanks, Chris
