God gave the Ten Commandments to Moses, who promptly set about murdering people. (Pre-meditated killing)
-
I'm finding it difficult to understand the point people are making, so I offer these scriptures. Let me know if you have a problem with them. "The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor shall the father bear the guilt of the son." (Ezekiel 18:20) Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. The kingdom of heaven belongs to little children upwards. But if little children are totally depraved because they have inherited Adam's sin, then this would mean the kingdom of heaven consists of people who are totally depraved! Surely this is not a true conclusion. The correct meaning is that kingdom of heaven belongs to people who are innocent like little children because little children are innocent (Jeremiah 19:4). "They have filled this place with the blood of the innocents" (innocents being babies.) .

Man & woman created on 6th day or later?
Truswell replied to DearJudy,OurLord's topic in Bible Study
I'm not sure if I understand you, but here are some examples of the word day as a period of time. Psalms 90:4 For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night. Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. 2 Peter 3:7-8 But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. (8) But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. Hosea 6:1-2 “Come, let us return to the LORD; for he has torn us, that he may heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bind us up. (2) After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him. . -
Adam and Eve had not sinned at creation.
-
I think Watchman Nee was spot on.
-
But Eve was created before she sinned, wasn't she.

After 400 years in Egypt, and after the I AM got them out of Egypt without the people spilling a drop of blood, they turned to other gods and the land through which they wandered became a battleground. Their wanderings under Moses, a commandeer in the Egyptian army, are well recorded in the Pentateuch and the four books of Kings and Chronicles.

I was talking about the Old Testament. Hundreds of years later, the Greek translators faithfully copied the errors. .
-
I have lost the thread of the conversation. Sorry. I seem to remember we were talking about the use of capitals in the Old Testament.
-
What language was the Bible originally written in? | Britannica .
-
Hebrew was written all in capitols. When it was translated into Greek, the translators began using lower case letters. Unfortunately, the Israelites out of Egypt continued to worship the only gods they knew. These were the Egyptian gods they had grown up with over 400 years. They included the Golden Calf, Astaroth and other Baals, wooden poles even. They called these graven images LORD, and unfortunately the translators left the false gods, the idols, in upper case letters. The golden calf Aaron made after leaving Egypt is called LORD. Check it out. The Greeks probably worshipped these same gods themselves. The misunderstanding this has caused over the centuries is enormous. False gods were called LORD and the true God was called Lord, but there are exceptions. Magistrates are lords. .

I know about Christophany, thank you. I also know that one day we shall all bow the knee before the pre-incarnate Jesus, who came DOWN from heaven's glory. 16 Bible verses about Christ Going Down (knowing-jesus.com). I also know what will happen to those who deny Jesus. At nearly 80 years of age, and being a Christian from childhood, baptised age twelve, and following the Lord all the days of my life, there is not much you can tell me. .

God humbled himself and came among us. Gleason Archer explains it well. God had to become one of us to redeem us from the guilt and penalty of our sins. God as God could not forgive us for our sins unless our sins were fully paid for; otherwise, he would have been a condoner and protector of the violation of His own holy law. It was only as a man that God in Christ could provide a sacrifice sufficient to atone for the sins of humankind; for only a man born of flesh could represent the human race. But our Redeemer had to be God, for only God could furnish a sacrifice of infinite value, to compensate for the penalty of the eternal hell that our sin demands according to the righteous claims of divine justice. Only God could have devised a way of salvation by which He could remain Just, while becoming the Justifier of the ungodly. So instead of sending the wicked to the everlasting perdition they deserved, it was the perfect Man, who was also the infinite God, that furnished an effective sacrifice for all believers of every age. I'm going back to bed, it is 1:30 am here. Good night.

Who was the Word in the beginning? .
-
That is what I mean. Instead of elevating Jesus the Word, the creator who is "The mighty God, The everlasting Father" (Isa 9:6) Jesus becomes not God, but Lord (lower case) and Christ." .
-
An example: "God having made Jesus both Lord and Christ" Is Jesus not God with us?
-
The emphasis was on Christ's humanity, and not his deity as the creator. .
-
I hate it when people deny Jesus. I could not do it. I assume you know Jesus was the WORD who created the heavens and the earth, and then humbled himself and took on the image of God while retaining the power of the WORD within him. .

You have made a good study of that. I will simply say it was the I AM who led them out of Egypt. It was the I AM who Moses knew; it was the I AM who led them through the wilderness by day and night and fed them with manor from heaven. In the meantime, the people worshipped the only gods they had known in Egypt, one being the golden calf and other graven images, all of which they called LORD. Only two of the original people to leave Egypt entered the promised land, while those born in the wilderness did enter. It looks like I have found the right forum at long last. Eventually, they were cut from the vine.

That situation was for thirty-three years, as only God in the flesh can redeem mankind and pay the penalty for our sins.

I sometimes think of the American President. He is Head of State Chief Executive Commander in Chief Head of Government Chief Diplomat Manager of the Economy Ceremonial Head of State But is ONE President. God is "Father, Son and Holy Spirit." Jesus the "I AM" is "God with us." (The mighty God. See Isaiah 9:6 and elsewhere.) .

God can appear as a man, He can appear as a rock, He can appear to Abraham in a tent doorway, and being omnipresent in the spirit, he can be with us and know our every thought and deed. .
