That's surprising, since the consensus of climatologists was that we wouldn't see much flooding until the end of this century.    Do you have a name or a link?

The meeting at Woods Hole gathered together about 10 distinguished climate scientists, who also sought advice from other scientists from across the world. The group was led by Jule Charney from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, one of the most respected atmospheric scientists of the 20th century.

The Report lays out clearly what was known about the likely effects of increasing carbon dioxide on the climate, as well as the uncertainties. The main conclusion of the Report was direct:

We estimate the most probable warming for a doubling of CO₂ to be near 3°C with a probable error of 1.5°C.

In the 40 years since their meeting, the annual average CO₂ concentration in the atmosphere, as measured at Mauna Loa in Hawaii, has increased by about 21%. Over the same period, global average surface temperature has increased by about 0.66°C, almost exactly what could have been expected if a doubling of CO₂ produces about 2.5°C warming – just a bit below their best estimate. A remarkably prescient prediction.

When we looked at demographics, we found that today’s flood risk is predominantly concentrated in white, impoverished communities. Many of these are in low-lying areas directly on the coasts or Appalachian valleys at risk from heavy rainfall.

But the increase in risk as rising oceans reach farther inland during storms and high tides over the next 30 years falls disproportionately on communities with large African American populations on the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. Urban and rural areas from Texas to Florida to Virginia contain predominantly Black communities projected to see at least a 20% increase in flood risk over the next 30 years.

As suggested, it is more complicated than merely sea rise (which until recently was mostly due to thermal expansion of warmer water, rather than melting glaciers).

No, to long ago to have a link. Just like when Paul Harvey was quoting the same guys when they said white beans cause cancer and also bacon cause cancer. I read and see things on the news that always repeat predictions which is just a glorified word meaning Im guessing. I learned to ignore predictions.

Sure. When "every eye shall see Him/Jesus, even those who pierced Him" (Rev. 1:7), this is what Zechariah says of that event with respect to many Jewish eyes:

Zech. 12:10 “And I will pour out upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplications, and they will look intently toward [not away from] Me whom they pierced.” … 12 And the land shall mourn, every family by itself...”

This prophecy shows the repentance of Jews at the Parousia of Christ. Repentance due to their coming to acknowledge that the One "whom they pierced" was actually their Messiah; which is why they will fast and mourn. Whereas unbelievers will turn away their faces and hide. Rev. 6:16; Is. 2:10, 19

Rev. 7:1-8 immediately follow after the universal vision of Christ at the 6th Seal/Rev. 6:16-17, and tells of the 144,000 Jewish now-believers sealed in their foreheads.

Thanks I was aware of the rest But did not know of Zech 12:10. Thanks so much for your answer.

So we have different definitions of the term, as I expect others also.

One of the difficulties in discussing such topics: different definitions of terms.

""The Lord comes in clouds, every eye sees him, the dead are raised, the elect ascend, the Jews are converted, the heathen wail, the Wrath begins.""

I have a question I hope you will help me with the answer. I realize the copy and paste is your signature, I have put in quotation marks. Some of this is a verse and some appears not to be part of the same verse. I am looking to find this particular part written in the Bible "" the Jews are converted"". I do not seem to be able to find this written in the bible. It seems as you put it together as if it is part of a verse you may help me understand how the conversion is at the same time as the verse. Hope my question makes since.

Of course Satan, the Father of lies is behind all this. And the big lie he is perpetuating is that there is an ethnic group called `Palestinians.` There is not.

The Romans called the land Palestine. We can see that on maps of when Jesus was on earth. It was Arafat who started this idea that these Arabs who wanted to live there were called Palestinians.

Israel`s first Prime Minister, Golda Meir, had a Palestinian passport, for it was the land that was called that. Israel changed the name to Israel. Arabs could live under Israelis rule and many do but some caused trouble. Thus they were given the West Bank area. Then later the Arabs complained that they didn`t have any access to the Mediterranean Sea. So, Israel turned its own people off their land and their houses in the Gaza strip and gave it to the Arabs.

Enter Arafat who was a master liar. And now the people of the world have swallowed that lie and think that there is a small ethnic group that Israel is persecuting.

I make sure I don`t perpetuate the lie, especially when talking to others. I say, the Arabs of Gaza, and then people tend to ask me why. Great opener to give the truth.

So, let`s call them what they are - Arabs of Gaza.

Watching a news program a few days ago they said the ones claiming to be Palestinians are Ottoman Turks

Then peace and prosperity will follow and the whole world will be convinced that this leader is the best, but then in the middle of the seven year treaty, he will break it.

This is just the way I read these verses .

V19-22 show what happened to Israel to be scattered.

V 23 imo is about Gentiles/Christians which has occurred.

V24 has occurred also, 1948 Israel.

    V25 speaks of Israel cleansed.

V26-27 Israel accepts Jesus and brought into New Covenant.

    V28 takes place after.

One may also read Isa 28:10 and Rev 7:3-4

    along with 1 Cor 15:25-28

19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.

21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.

22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

I am thinking the church, Christians with faith in Jesus will be gone before Rev 12 or 14 so they are not about the church.

  10. 1 Cor 15

25 For he (Jesus) must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

27 For he (God) hath put all things under his (Jesus) feet. But when he (God) saith all things are put under him(Jesus), it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him (Jesus) then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him (God) that put all things under him(Jesus), that God may be all in all.

29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

    Explain, please...
    Thanks, NConly

It is my understanding that many believe NC believers are to keep the old Ten commandments of the 613 old laws. I disagree with that stand. Jesus NC brings nothing from old law into the NC.

    Rom 3:

31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

establish  the law is the key words.

The words "day and night" pretty much say in black and white a 24 hour day. Since we know a day is 24 hours, the burden of proof is on the skeptic to show how it's NOT a 24 hour day. I believe God himself was the light before he created the sun and moon. Since the Bible uses the word Day, you must have an external source for believing the days weren't 24 hours. Correct?

I agree God was the light for the first four days until he made the sun and moon to rule over day and nite.

  14. 1 hour ago, RV_Wizard said:

There was light the first day, which is why there was an evening and a morning.

Since we know that evening and morning are caused by a single rotation of the earth and not light orbiting the planet, There is no reason to believe that the days were any longer than they are now.  keep in mind, there was no living thing on the earth before day three, and in fact, no dry land before day three.  Sorry, Dino, you simply didn't exist then.

There was light and darkness the first 4 days Just NO Sun or Moon to rule over the 24 hour day/night. per v18. No proof of a 24 hour day til 5th day.

  15. Gen 1

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

The first four days had no moon or sun to do as v18 states.

There is a possibility of the first 4 days being any length God wanted.

    11 Pet 3

5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
