Prayer Requests And How Us Christians Handle Them...
Edward429451 replied to Edward429451's topic in General Discussion
That's a great story to reference in relation to this. Why couldn't we cast this demon out? This kind goes out by prayer and fasting...so that tells me that, this evil spirit was stronger than some other evil spirits. So when we as believers begin to walk in this walk, we cant do everything all at once but He walks us through it bit by bit. I've noticed that, the Lord doesn't always say things that I want to hear! He will tell me to do things that, I dont think I can do, so I dont want to try. He does it in scripture too. God told Moses to go dip his rod into the Nile river and the river would be turned to blood. Do you think Moses believed that? He had seen a couple small miracles so far and they were true, but this one was bigger than those! God does the same thing with us Christians. He is guaranteed to give you tasks which require more faith than you ever used before. So that you must walk through it in faith, or it doesnt happen. Now it seems to me that the disciples couldnt cast out the evil spirit because they were closer to being babes in Christ, than Sergeant at Arms for the Lord! So they couldn't do it, had to call in a specialist, lol. It occurs to me that becoming born again and a child of God is very much like joining the Service. When you have accrued achievements then you get promoted and receive more authority and power. thus a Buck Private becomes a Corporal and has greater duties but is still small in the Organization. So if you're out there and trying to heal people and cast out demons, remember that your focus must be upon the Lord and not upon the miracle. And that must be why some people dont receive their healing when they think they should have? -
And people still insist on believing the propaganda. Brothers & Sisters, that deception has always been the primary weapon of the enemy. And in today's world that translates into, you cant believe anything your hear and only half of what you see, if that much. They have developed a fool proof test to be able to see when certain Politicians and all Democrats are lying or not. How it's done is you look them in the face very closely...are their lips moving? If yes, they're lying, If No, they're not lying.

Prayer Requests And How Us Christians Handle Them...

There is an example of this in scripture. Now technically, people do not own the power, so it's prolly inaccurate to say they have the power to do these things, they do not, but it is inside of the! A regular person, not a disciple, snuck up behind Jesus and touched His garment and was healed of her issue with blood, in Mark 5:25-34 Jesus didnt do anything for this girl. When Jesus felt the healing power flow out of Him and asked who touched me? It was already a complete healing, she was healed! She obviously had Faith in the Lord and probably it was unknowingly that she stepped into Belief with her actions and said if I touch Him I will be made whole, but she did and Jesus hadn't even been to the cross yet, that promise was still in the future to come! So that girl was sort of a time traveler and through faith, she reached into the future and grabbed hold of that promise and bring it close to her heart so that enabled her to effect the healing that she needed. !! That's a great story! Did she have the power to heal? No. Did she wak in the healing anyway? Yes! Now please tell me Brother, was this girl a regular person? Please tell me how she was able to do this if it something that you or I could not do? Jesus didnt heal her! He spoke to her after the fact! Jesus said, thy faith has made thee whole! So please explain that one! -

Now dont misunderstand me and think that I'm saying dont pray for yourself or others for healing because that's a good thing so that's not what I'm saying. But do I think there are actual regular people who have the same healing power that Jesus had on earth. Scripture proves it in fact! The disciples were regular people and they healed a lot of people! Am I right or not? How about raising the dead? Can regular people raise someone from the dead? Hmm, let's see here...Peter raised Dorcas from the dead in Acts 9:32-42 and Paul raises the dead in Acts 20:9-12 when a man fell asleep and fell out the window!. Those were Believers raising the dead. I heard it through the grapevine that you reader, are a believer too! So does that mean that you can raise the dead also? But are you a Believer or not? You are. So you can too. If that isnt true then God is a respecter of persons, and it says He is not. I'll tell you all something. I had a very strong unction to raise the dead before, years ago when my Wife's little sister had been struck by a high speed drunk driver...but I did not do it. I chickened out. I feel horrible about that, but I didnt believe it at the time and was scared of failure and being thought the fool. What an idiot I was. I prayed later and asked the Lord, what all is needed for real healing? Is this stuff real? And He answered me instantly and said, all you need for a healing is a patient and a believer..../ People need to understand that faith and belief are different things. Faith is trust and commitment, belief is acting on the same with your body, doing something. Lay hands on them, speak to them. Whatever, but faith is trust and belief is acting it out, walking in it! Thats why scripture speaks of faith sometimes and speaks of belief sometimes. Same thing like in Psalm 23, thy rod and thy staff comfort me. The rod and the staff are different and have different uses. They are essentially, Power and Authority. I believe I can state accurately and say, no man has ever healed anyone with His own power! The power is the Lord's! But the Lord's power flows through us (free will). Here's a good question for you: When you were born again in spirit, did you receive the Spirit of God within you? Yes, you did. So is it accurate to say, I have the same resurrection power within me that raised Jesus from the dead? I would say of course we do! So wherein is the problem? -

I absolutely do believe it. For a couple reasons. One reason is I have not seen any scriptures which tell us we wont...and there are scriptures which say that we will. For example: John 14:12 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.../KJV Jesus wasnt just talking to disciples there, He said he that believes in Him will do these works and more. That cant be anyone else than us Christians, right? Grammatically? Matthew 10:1 10 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.../ KJV That's a lot of power that Jesus gave them. He gave it to everyone but at the time, that number was only 12 still! Matthew 10: 5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.../KJV He sent them to the world to preach (isnt that our job too?!) AND: Heal, Cleanse, Raise, and Cast Out! Can you tell me why everyday Christians can not do these things in today's world? Answer: Because they do not realize that they can so they dont even try. Remember God is not a respecter of persons so there is nothing that would make Him play favorites with the Disciples. If Jesus would give such power to them, then He would give it to you, Brother...and has. -
I dunno. Do you feel a calling to go to Israel and spread the good news to a bunch of hard necked old Rabbis? The last I heard that it is illegal to try to convert someone to Christ over there. So they still have some growing to do.
-
There may well indeed be fishy things going on over there, but do you know this for sure? You have been to Israel and verified it? Or was it from a video blurb of a bunch of people in robes & turbans jumping up and down with some signs? That sort of thing is so easily faked to look real. You are not skeptical enough I think. That sort of thing sounds too far fetched to me to be real.

What must someone believe in order to be saved?
Edward429451 replied to z88's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
I think being born again in spirit is very comparable to being born in the flesh. When a baby is born, it isn't over, mission accomplished. It's it has begun. Now the young one one learns and does things. I dont see any food on the ceiling but I am hungry the baby thinks. So what does he do? He cries out to see if he can get some help with this problem! Where's my mommy?! Wah! I said, WAHHH!! and she is instantly there for him. Just like the spiritual birth. We are born again, in spirit and become babes in Christ. And scripture says cry out to Him unceasingly! We have not if we ask not. I dont think God does anything without flowing through one of His Believers? I'm still chewing on that one. -
What must someone believe in order to be saved?
Edward429451 replied to z88's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
The way I understand it, in the Greek language the word Believe carries with it a connotation of action or commitment. In other words, to walk in it and not just speak about it. Believe has a fairly wide range of usage and can be used to signify simple intellectual trust but typically a commitment is clearly inferred. So we're not supposed to get saven and then go home and sit on our blessed ass urance without walking in it In other words, we must be doers of the word and not just hearers. So there's a serious commitment involved where we must stand up and walk in our belief and trust or the deal is null and void I think. Wouldn't that be, being lukewarm, to not walk in it. Think of your marriage to your spose as an example. You dont marry her and then go back to your place alone. You take her with you! She will have lots to say, I need to go here or there, I need some money, we need better furniture. Wise men walk in that and say, yes Honey, and it happens because there was a marriage and a commitment made! So unless we take the Lord seriously in what He says to us in His word and begin doing the same things that the word says to do, what have we become? We profess Jesus, but do not walk with Him daily? The scripture uses the term Lukewarm for these people and it says that He will spew them from His mouth. (Yikes!) (That sounds like an annulment?) -

No I do not think so. I think I have already shown why that could not be. -
This brings up a question. Why did Hamas do the ultimate damage that they could? Why were they so brutal and vicious? Surely you cant be saying that Israel ordered Hamas to attack it's own people and sat there and did nothing. Uh, with all due respect...you are one silly girl! Ask yourself, who did this damage to these people? The Hamas fighters right? They went house to house raping and pillaging and taking hostages and killing a lot of people. And you are audacious enough to believe that Israel wanted this on her people? Prepostureous. I dont care what you read, that sounds, uh, not right.
-
How about examination of available facts. And do you merely trust? Or do you trust and verify? Of course it was a setup. An attack is always a setup. And the winner of the battle gets to write it into history. So how much of what you wrote do you believe? And how much of it have you verified for yourself? deception is always the enemies primary weapon. At this late point in time I would suggest being very skeptical of what you read. Of course Hamas wants Israel to be the bad guy, isn't that why they attacked them to begin with?! Don't make me laugh! In the entire history of the world, Israel has always been the bad guy...except in scripture.(not where they killed the Messiah, but when they were called God's chosen people!) What were they chosen for anyway? God's chosen people. Chosen to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. Which they have not done yet I might add! But God's enemy which is in the world will stop Israel from spreading this Jesus Gospel if they possibly can. And scripture says it takes a great tribulation upon Israel to bring them to a saving knowledge of Jesus the Christ but it will come to pass eventually. So on that note, I dont think there is anything that you can say that would make me dislike Israel or God's chosen people. All we can see is what that spiritual war looks like on the ground in the material world. So of course the enemy will lie and say the Jews are the bad ones, lol. The Jews are not perfect, but we dont really get to know what was happening behind the scenes until we get to heaven! Well, either you believe that your bible speaks truth or you dont.

Prayer Requests And How Us Christians Handle Them...
Edward429451 replied to Edward429451's topic in General Discussion
I found it! Matthew 10:1 1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.../KJV -
Now any Christian worth his salt will pray for a Brother or Sister in Christ and lift them up to the Lord in prayer ourself in order to help. Intercessory prayer is a fantastic path to walk, helping people. Especially if one is at a distance from who is requesting prayer support! This is how it has been done (for the most part) since the beginning of time on earth and all through the scriptures. Except I cant seem to recall in scripture where Jesus prayed for someone instead of just doing it Himself. Jesus cast out a lot of evil spirits from people and healed many people, but where did Jesus pray to God to heal lepers? To heal issues of blood? Or even to cast out evil spirits? I can't find any. So that begs the question...are we, as Christians, handling prayer in the best way for others as we are used to doing? Did Jesus pray for people to be healed? No. Why not? Well because he has the authority to do it Himself and He knew it. So Jesus didn't talk to Father God, oh God if it is in your will we ask that this terrible disease is healed in this person then let it be so, or anything like that! Odd, isnt it? (Maybe not). We need some criteria to go by as Christians on when it may be appropriate to pray for a person or not pray for a person. I'll use the Worthy Prayer team as a fine example: "We will accept prayer requests for: Healing for Yourself or a Loved One Family, Employment, General Finances, Housing, Future Salvation for Others Marriages, Births, Comfort for Those Mourning a Death Christian Persecution Ministries and Mission Work Leaders of Churches, Cities, and Countries Freedom from Harmful Habits and Addictions Wars, Disease Outbreaks, Droughts, Famines, Natural Disasters We will reject prayer requests dealing with: Victory for Your Favorite Sports Team Bad Things to Happen to Other People, Organizations or Countries Winning the Lottery Any Request for Specific Dollar Amounts.../" That's a great place to start! They have thought that through considerably. Both who they will pray about and who's requests they wont pray about. But for the sake of discussion, is it accurate. Healing for you or a loved one is at the top of the list. A worthy thing to come into agreement with and pray for. So what would it look like if I was to pattern my prayer life after the model of Jesus, and the example that He set for us. Jesus didnt pray to God. Period. Not even for the woman with the issue of blood who snuck up behind Jesus and touched His hem of His garment! She was healed! No prayer at all. Jesus didnt even know! He said who was that?! The lady of course did understand that Jesus was the anointed of God and so could heal her. Who needs a prayer request she said? I'll just touch His clothes and be healed! Now why didn't Jesus pray for that poor Woman? (Lol). Or who was it? I think it was Peter. He was going through the gates into the city and saw an invalid lying there asking for alms and the old guy motioned to Peter hoping for some help. Peter was broke but wanted to help so he told the man, silver or gold have I none but what I do have, I give to you...and then, Peter didnt even pray! He just pulled the man to his feet and his legs gained strength and he began running and leaping! Healed without a Prayer, imagine that! Not even Jesus, but Peter. Just some guy who met Jesus and learned the truth. And even when Jesus was casting out evil spirits (which was what He did the most of!) He didn't talk to God the Father about it. He spoke to the evil spirits directly! Now correct me if I'm wrong (LOL) but, didn't Jesus delegate all authority over evil spirits and all manner of sickness and disease to the church before He ascended back to His Father after the Resurrection? To us? I dont think anyone can say that way just for the disciples and not us because God is no respecter of persons to where He would play favoritism! I realize that, I have only scratched the surface of this thing, nevertheless, what do you think?
-
Sometimes faith requires us to believe without seeing? That's wrong in my estimation. Faith Always requires us to believe without seeing. Now you might say, well God has done supernatural things for me, so I have seen...?? But that isnt right either because just because God has done this or that for me which let the eyes of my heart see, I still need faith because I do not know if God is testing my faith or something at the time so will not answer my prayer for (whatever), because of His test. How would I know? His ways are higher than my ways so my faith is stil required even in this instance. Now if you know these things, then how is it that you are asking me for proof and evidence about someone else's testimony when you know that I can not possibly have any evidence?! I have a great testimony about when God helped me in very much this way. The Lord has done a Lot for me. I bet have 20 or 30 good testimonies already and from what I can tell (irl) is this is about 19-29 more testimonies than the average christian, or so it seems to me because most people dont seem to want to believe in what they can not see.

What makes you think that I havent prayed for the Palestinians? Scripture says that there were people of all tribes and nations in heaven, so that must include Palestinians too. I dont have anything against the Palestinians. They've never done anything to me, I live a half world away from them. I've never even been to that land before. You dont seem to be much in the conversation? That's quite a bit of copy/paste there. Some of that might be true and I saw what I believed to be lies also within what you wrote (copy/pasted). But how would I even know most of that stuff that you copy/paste and assert it as somehow your own. I dont want to discuss against Wikipedia! Now I'm guessing that you dont really know all that you (rote). Have you ever been to Israel? I'm guessing no. Just how well informed are you politically about Israel and it's enemies & actions? I'm guessing about as much as normal women with lives going on and perhaps kids & marriages and all that. So I think what happens is, it is sorta interesting to you and you listen in and read things here and there, much of which is propaganda from both sides, lol! You have to take that stuff with a grain of salt Sister. I understand that women are emotionally driven so what I think happens is you read something like that and it touches your heart because, it's such a sad story...so you get behind it without fully understanding the truth of what is really happening behind the scenes in all truth. You don't know. I dont know. So all we really have to go on in these type situations is what we see with our eyes and our own personal experience. Yeah, Israel has been in a state of war for 1000's of years, and it continues today. What experience has taught me very well upon this planet is that, when someone sucker-punches you...you punch them back and even harder than they hit you. It's "On" when someone sucker-punches you. Someone has brought me a fight! Shall I not fight and defend myself and try to evangelize them instead? Sister, Evangelism is a very good thing, but a simple fact of life is that you generally do not have time to evangelize people who are trying to kill you and are pointing weapons at you !!! First you fight and then you evangelize if you can. So why did Hamas attack Israel on Oct 7th? I hope you dont think that Israel orchestrated it's own attack from Hamas because that would be ludicrous. I understand that the Jews are a stiff necked people and not always very nice, but that can be said about anyone's culture on earth. So please dont tell me how nice the Palestinians are and how evil the Jews are...or presume to me that you know how I feel about any of them. (we wrestle not against flesh and blood people, it is the demonic oppression that many of them are under that is the real enemy. If someone attacked you and perhaps was attempting to rape you as is done often to women...your husband rushes in to save you...do you think your husband should beat the attacker down or come in with his Bible and evangelize him, love him and forgive him...? Because when Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7th, they were being brutal, vicious and totally without regard to sanctity of life or women & children folk. Such brutal atrocities were done by Hamas to Israel, that...you think they should be forgiven? What's next? And not resist them when they come and attack you? Look, when someone attacks you and sucker-punches you, one does not beat them to death for it, for some are not as brutal and vicious. But depending on the viciousness of the attack sometimes it is wiser to just end it right then and there. One uses a higher level of force than the attack to gain advantage and win. If I came home and someone was in there attacking my wife, slapping her around. I probably wont kill them but beat them down and pass them over to the authorities. But if I come in and my wifes pants have been taken off of her and a rape is in progress or signs that he wants to kill her, then I will kill him. He hits you...you hit hit him harder. He is overly brutal...you kill him and eradicate him. Simple as that.

Edward429451 replied to z88's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
It actually gets quite deep with a word study Sister. The term name means so much more than just being a title, there is so much more to it. It includes the character of Jesus. What I suggest is spending some time at BlueLetterBible.org and look up how they use the term name in specific passages. https://www.blueletterbible.org/lexicon/g3686/kjv/tr/0-1/ -
I dont understand your point. You went from chastening me and make the point to me that all men are that same and I should pray for them... To suggesting that Palestinians need to forgive Israel & the Jews as if the jews are bad and the Palestinians are good? But that's what you just told me that I shouldnt do! Sister, I think you should think this through some more. Why do the Jews need forgiven for fighting the Philistines when it was them that attacked Israel first? Riddle me that one.
-
Sure I do know that. All you have to do is read the bible about Joshua and then catch up on a modern newspaper and they are the same areas. I know that the Philistines were an evil people and apparently they were even Nephilim some of them. God said way back in scripture Joshua, go eradicate them, and he failed. It sounds like you're just repeating modern propaganda. Oh I understand that they dont want to be associated with the Philistines and in a way, I cant blame them. Would you want to be caled a Philistine?! You trying to foster Christian acceptance and love upon the Philistines with modern victim talk is almost laughable. Why do I find it hard to have compassion for them as a people? Well, why did they Attack Israel on Oct. 7th? Israel has a right to defend itself. So get it out of your head that I'm picking on them. It's not my fault that they bit off more than they can chew! They attacked Israel and are getting their butt whooped for it so get used to it.

What is the Most Important Thing in God's Creation?
Edward429451 replied to Vine Abider's topic in General Discussion
That would be man of course. The nicest part of His creation is women. But men are still more important than women because if women were more important then they would have been created first. Besides, men have responsibility and accountability and that didnt make it into very many womens job description, lol. -
That was me and it isnt an excuse to persecute them. I based that on a few things. Joshua failed to exterminate the philistines in 3 areas and whoops look at the cincidence that those areas where Joshua failed happen to be the three areas that are still under dispute to this day. The Golan, the west bank and Gaza. WHat are the odds of that? The Palestinian people have a very similar sounding name to the Philistines. Philistine, Palestine, Palestinians Philistines It doesnt take a rocket scientist to put it together that the Palestinians are descendants of the Philistines.
-
I pondered the same thing but came to a different conclusion. I considered stopping marking in bibles but I figure, it is prolly good to mark them up with underlines and stuff because when it starts to get filled up, it's just time for a new bible! Then pass the other one down and they will have their attention drawn to key verses.
-
From what I understand evangelizing Jews in Israel with the gospel of Christ is illegal there in Israel. So God go with you if that is your mission!
-
I dont have to have evidence. Those are testimonies of other people that I heard and that is what they said. I said they sound credible. Do I need evidence that I found them credible? You dont have to believe it if you dont want to. You dont have to have any faith if you dont want to.

They are still God's chosen people and God most certainly helps them in His compassion and mercy. They have been fighting the same people for thousands of years now. From I what I understand, the IDF are crack military people and they train them well and they seem to have all the best and latest technology to help them defend and fight. As a bystander from America watching Israel online it's apparent ahat, they know what their doing as far as war is concerned. The IDF's intelligence is prolly the best in the world. I cant see where they do anything wrong. This is not genocide. They attacked Israel on Oct 7th, remember? They drew first blood. That the Philistines bit off more than they can chew is not my concern. Maybe they should have thought it through some more before they attacked Israel?
