Hi, Sanctum. I'm a headcovering Christian woman too. Sometimes I wear a plain bandanna (but they are kinda small) and sometimes I wear a larger square scarf folded into a triangle. My favorite is a long rectangular scarf, about 6ft long and maybe 18in wide. I hang the center of the scarf over the back of my neck (under my hair) letting the two long ends dangle in front. Then I wind one end all the way around my head and spread it out flat over my head and down over my hair, tucking the end under the loose part at the back. Next I twist the other long end and wind it around my forehead in the opposite direction, take that end under the loose part in the back as well, and tie the two ends together.
(But I often wear a hat over the scarf as well!)
It took me a while to find a style I like. My denomination doesn't teach headcovering for women, so I was pretty much on my own.

And its just going to get worse;
Mum demands school BANS Sleeping Beauty because she 'didn't consent to being kissed'
A MOTHER has asked her son’s school to take ‘Sleeping Beauty’ off the curriculum for its "inappropriate sexual" message.Mother-of-two Sarah Hall, from Northumberland Park, says the fairytale promotes unacceptable behaviour which should not be read to young children.
She argued it teaches children that it is ok to kiss a woman while she’s asleep, which she says is not acceptable.
Ms Hall was reading a school book with her son, Ben, six, which was based on the traditional story.
She said: “I think it’s a specific issue in the Sleeping Beauty story about sexual behaviour and consent. If she thinks it's bad that Sleeping Beauty was kissed in her sleep...
...she should read the story in the original.

live action....dont you know, hulk is real. The only reason they make movies like this, is to disguise the fact that these guys actually exist, this way when a green giant tears a city apart, they can cover it up easier-they will just tell the media they were filming a movie!
I was really hoping for a serious answer, Pat!

Pat, did you miss the part where Willa said she's unsteady on stools and ladders these days?

I'm very late to the party, but is there any apple crumble left?

It's my understanding that the senator was mowing his own lawn when a neighbor tackled him, motive not yet reported.
And the senator suffered five cracked ribs.

You know, it occurs to me that the Batman suit must be very hot and sweat-inducing the wear. *ick*

Well, having caught up here, I now suspect the reason this thread moves so fast is because SOMEONE *cough enoob cough* has a habit of taking last from HIMSELF.
(Has OO been around though?)

Wow, this thread speeds along more than the old thread did, I think!

Keep in mind it is specified in the Quran that Allah has no son. That alone is enough to tell us that the god of Islam is not the same as the God of the Bible.

Btw, how come Logan is being one-handed?

Awesome. If he wants someone to talk to, have him pm me a conversation in norwegian. I can send it to my dad who can write out a response. Dads first language is norwegian.
Mike is learning norwegian but his pronunciation makes me shudder. He is gutteral like navajos speak and norwegian is such a lyrical singsong type language.
I'm not sure if she would want to; she's very shy. But thanks for the offer. She has been talking to our cats in Norwegian, but I always have to ask her what she's saying.
-
Brick, you're confusing me; I don't know who you are!
Jadey, would you believe one of my kids is trying to learn Norwegian? (And another is studying Portuguese!)
(As for that gif of the dancing Trek trio: yikes, they're baaaaaaccccck!)

Pat, you mean the fact that Shrek is driving? (I couldn't tell if there was anyone else in the car.)
So Iain and Aimes are looking at tag teaming last?
And what a joy to see Noob again!

Did no one want to answer the penguin's question? Guess I'll have to.
Lavabread is a native Welsh food. Basically it's seaweed. For those of us who love nori (me, me, me!), it is absolutely WONDERFUL.

Sorry, George, I don't understand: what beef? (I eat mostly poultry.)
On the other hand, those donuts looked wonderful! (Except the glazed ones. For some reason that kind of glazing makes my stomach rebel.)

How did it get delivered two days before it was picked up? Or am I just not understanding?
Anyway, there's a little place in KY named Monkey's Eyebrow.

There are vegetarians who eat eggs and dairy. Those tend to be reasonable folks.
That's the kind of vegetarian my daughter is.
And, Pat, she isn't trying to be last, so it doesn't matter that she doesn't eat beef. (I don't eat it often; too greasy.)

*sigh* All those word clouds pictures, and I didn't see my name in 'em!
On the other hand, I see now why this thread tripled in pages since I was last here.
Btw, I did find the goram masala seasoning I wanted, so we had some tofu tikka masala tonight (because one of the kids is vegetarian). Yeah, I need to find a different recipe; this one had waaaaay too much tomato in it. (And even the vegetarian asked me not to put tofu in it again!) So: less tomato next time, more yogurt, more goram masala, and for the protein...
Eggs. Scrambled eggs.
My thread (keep out)
