Thank you! Where is it?

Am I allowed to post videos here? Since the mainstream media doesn't care about aboriginal people they don't broadcast about it. However, on the social media there are several videos available that I would like to share.
-
What's this got to do with anything? Are you saying the natives should just shut up, let big business build the pipeline through their land and just forget about any past promises or treaties made to them?
-
And in the above, I don't mean, don't vote from Trump. Now that it's clearly him versus Hillary, I don't even hazzard a guess as to who is right. It's truly figuring out the worst of 2 evils. I know that Christians HERE in a Christian forum are discussing the issues and some are very strong from Trump. However, on Facebook and in other avenues where the world is watching , I sure hope that Christians are not standing up loud and clear in their support of this man.

We didn't give the earth to satan in the garden! Where does it say that? We simply allowed evil to enter the world. BIG difference. I respect all people.... as God has told us to do. "1 Peter 3:14-6 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. " "1 Peter 2:17 Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor." I respect the fact that they HAVE a different faith. Not everyone had the benefit of growing up with the knowledge that I did and I respect that fact and consider myself fortunate. So I respect and I NEVER belittle them for what they believe. Yes, I have heard about the tribulation and wrath. That's going to be GOD's doing, and LATER, not ours! From what you are saying, we might as well just dump a bunch of oil into the oceans, kill the bees, chop down all of the trees and help God out. In the meantime, we ARE supposed to stand up for the oppressed and the poor. If you don't want to, don't, but don't discourage others from doing so, with arguments that don't really stand up in the word of God. I find it really strange that so many of today's Christians have no problem standing up loud and clear for a billionaire, who is very unkind and disrespectful to so many different kinds of people, including women, and then they decidedly remain silent when it comes to standing up for a very poor and oppressed people who are ASKING for support and help and voices. ???? There is something very wrong here. Please show me the VERSES where this is what Christians are supposed to do.

As stated before "Christianity" FAILED on that whole love part that in the past in the most horrific way imaginable. Today, it's about standing up for a PEOPLE who just keep getting the shaft. We are all just silent, when we have the opportunity to show them both LOVE and respect. We ARE supposed be respectful. Ignoring their needs and their rights when they are ASKING for our help (and they are) is not love. Also, when did we give this creation to satan? I thought we were supposed to take care of the earth.??

It's very much about water as well. It's mainly about respecting the fact that there was a treaty with them. Aside from that, would you be ok with someone bulldozing through the graveyard of your grandparents, or digging up their coffins?
-
So Enoob and Missmuffet, would you stand up for the rights of the unborn? Or do you feel that issue is best just left ignored as satan has control anyway?

Hi Gerbilgirl: I agree with most who say that the Bible does name homosexuality is a sin. I can't argue with that. As a compassionate human being, however, I would like to be able to overlook the practice and pretend that it's okay. I would even like to be able to say that it's ok and to tell gay people "it's ok, God is ok with what you are doing!" However, who am I to say I know better than God? And that God's laws no longer matter and aren't applicable today? I can't! I'm a mere human and God knew what he was doing when he created the earth and gave us the rules of life. I know some gay people will say they have no choice and that they are 'born' that way.... this is the very argument that makes a person feel compassionate and want to just accept the lifestyle. After all, if they have no choice in the matter, how can we NOT accept them? Or how could a loving God not accept them? But the argument is simply not true. There is NO proof that gay people are born that way. There is evidence that sometimes gets manipulated and broadcasted in the media as fact, but no real proof. Here is a paragraph from the American Psychological Institute that actually tells the truth on the subject. "There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles; most people experience little or no sense of choice about their sexual orientation. " Here is the link it came from if you want to look it up. https://www.apa.org/topics/lgbt/orientation.aspx So why are some people gay? Why are some bi? Transsexual? Well, as a Christian, I believe that Satan is going to work on our minds where he can find a weak point. And often it does being in childhood. And he will be relentless in his attacks. Although to the one being attacked, it doesn't feel that way at all... It feels natural, like a natural tendency or temptation towards one thing or another. It doesn't matter what our issue is, we are all driven to sin in some particular fashion. Sometime Christians are driven to judge... they judge harshly all of the time... They judge the way people dress, the way they smell, the cars they drive, the way they talk, etc, etc, etc. It's a normal thought pattern that doesn't even feel like sin to them. They don't even realize they are doing it. They just continuously judge and they don't love. Even though we are supposed to do the very opposite, love and don't judge. The two never go hand in hand. If you are loving someone the way Christ wants us to, we simply don't see anything to judge people on. About satan working on people's minds toward their harm, here are some extreme examples. Google "body integrity disorder", where some people are driven to actually cut off their limbs. They feel that they hate their leg or arm or hand or whatever and want it gone. Once the limb is gone, they feel better about themselves, but then want to have another body part amputated. Or check out TLC's My Strange Addiction. You'll see a grown woman who dresses up like a pony and prances around, or a woman that likes to eat mattresses, another who likes to eat bricks. Are these strange? yes, they are, but it just goes to show you that a human can be tempted into believing that something very harmful is actually good for them and very, very desirable to them. I think it's the same way with gay people... They've been dwelling on incorrect thinking for such a long time, that it no longer feels like some kind of choice to them. A great example is a gay Catholic man who wrote an article and talked about how he wasn't sinning because he was celibate. Well then what makes him gay at all then if he is celibate? His thoughts! Why does he keep dwelling on gay thoughts? We have control over our thoughts. The Bible says "Take every thought captive that is against the will of God" Anyway, at the end of the day, although I do my best to love gay people, I could also say to them that God loves them, but I could not say to them "God is ok with what you are doing".. Overlooking a behavior that is destructive to one's soul and calling it good? That is not love. However, no gay person has asked me my opinion on that yet but if they did, I would have to be honest and do it in a very gentle, non judgemental way.

That is a fine example of an out of context quote! I said I came here to find out if Trump was really being endorsed by Christians, and then said later that I forgot that I would have to be ready to battle when I came here. Context is everything! lol
-
Sorry for my sarcasm. I am realizing maybe there is real fear in your heart. Is that what you meant? But perfect love drives out fear. The devil lives in the hearts of men and ANYWHERE injustice is happening. Surely you don't mean that Christians should not stand up for injustice?
-
The devil lives at Standing Rock? Really, what is his address? Maybe we can burn down his house.

I agree Nebula. (And congrats on your marriage!!) I actually came here to see if there was a topic on this. Every day I am saddened by the fact that the people who were here before us have to fight for the right to keep the pipeline out of 'their' land. It's like it's not even their land. Let's face it ..."Christianity" as it was called, failed the aboriginals (both in Canada and the US) miserably. They were pretty much annihilated, and those who remained were given crappy, unwanted land with promised, given alcohol and a stupid paycheck. In Canada, they were sent to residential schools and native kids were also taken out of their homes and sent to white homes to live, where they were often mistreated and lied to.... all with the idea that it was good to 'get the Indian out of them" This happened right into the 1970's! I have a friend who was taken during this 60's scoop and was beaten daily, treated as a slave and was lied to about his mother being dead. And now, promises are continually broken and treaties completely ignored. It's a sad injustice. I wish more Christians would speak up and stand up. There are many face book groups you can join to stand up for STanding Rock. I know many will say "it's not our problem and they weren't really Christians who were murdering, mistreating, etc". I know all of that and I agree with that. I know many won't find a care in their hearts about this... However, for those that do, wouldn't it be nice if today's Christians stood up for the injustice that absolutely did occur and is still occurring?

Thank you for the kind words. Just remember God is still in control. Don't let fear drive youtward the wrong choice. Fear is of the devil. " Perfect love drives out fear. "

Ok, thanks other one.

Hi. I keep getting notifications on my email that I don't want to get. I can't seem to change that and previously thought I would keep my profile open in the event that I want to come back but figured I would instead just delete my whole profile. I went into account settings and can't see where that is done. I am not the most technological person. lol Anyway, can a moderator please delete my profile? Thanks!
-
I went into my settings as I no longer want to receive any notifications when something comes in my mail. There were 3 options (below) is there any way to completely eliminate these notifications? A notification when new content is posted One email per day with all new content from that day One email per week with all new content from that week

Like I said, the Bible is silent on the issue of those who have never heard. I can't come back here. I was so angry at you Other One on your lack of trying to understand and complete lack of empathy. I wanted to scream at the computer. Then I wept(loudly)... could not help it.. for 5 minutes. I still can't stop the tears. Unfortunately, I can understand the mindset of why ya'll want Trump in. It frustrates me too much and I can't deal with it. I can deal with angry, disgruntled, abused non Christians, and have no problem doing so, but I can no longer deal with you guys. I hope you all just pray for empathy and understanding.

"I'm 68 years old and I can tell you that racism is still alive and well here in the US, but the most racist people I know are black.... " Geez i wonder why????
-
Please read my comments to Other One on this subject. As well, the New Testament is silent on what happens to those who have never heard of Jesus. I do believe these people, who die never knowing, do NOT go to hell. God is merciful. I guess to truly empathise with what occured, you would have to read more books and watch more movies on the way many slaves were actually treat actually treated slaves. We can't thank God for human mistakes that caused horror , indignity and travesty to so many any more than we can thank God for the holocaust.

Ayin: Once again, I NEVER said I came here to do battle. I don't even have to go back and check and see because i would never say that. You know how I know? Because I would never think that way. I wish you would quit accusing me of this. I know the format sucks, but if you had really seen that, I'm sure you know how to copy and paste. Now you are accusing me of changing it? Please stop. It's ridiculous. I think you read that INTO my post but I did NOT say it. I'm sure moderators can see what has been changed and they have my full permission, if necessary, to do so. And as for me and Vendtre pming each other. Also never happened. Not even once. You can ask him/her the same thing and this person will also say no. Who do I think founded America? I think God placed who we now know as Natives here way back in the times of the Tower of Babel. Ezra: Why would I live on a reserve? I don't deserve free land. ???? I am white, not native. I just have a social conscience about a LOT of things. I am also a huge fan of International Justice Mission (who frees slaves, sex slaves and help prosecute offenders) and frequently give money and forward their facebook page posts to help create awareness. Doesn't mean I have to go out and actually free the slaves in whatever country they are in, does it? You say Black people have reached the highest level of governent... yet the KKK still exists. I have been to Mississippi. I know the segregation that still occurs in some areas of the US. (please read below before responding to this as i have more to say on the subject.) Esther: I am not sure what the 2nd half of the post was about or if it was directed to you. About a poor attitude etc. I appreciate your thoughts that I am allowed to comment and have opinions on other countries politics. Thank you for that. The rest of you who have a problem with me talking US politics..... Why aren't you jumping all over Davida. Did you see what she said about the Canadian Prime Minister? And about our TV network? And she's, gasp, not even Canadian? Why aren't you jumping all over her. How dare she? Or he? I'm actually just kidding. I think it's nice, in a way, that she's made herself aware of a country outside of the one that she lives in. I'm not so arrogant that I think she can't have an opinion on my government. The real problem isn't that I am commenting on your government. The problem is that I disagree with your choice. If I agreed that Trump is a fitting president, you'd have no problem with me jumping in. Other One: Are you basing your entire opinion about slaves being brought over from Africa, from the opinion of one man that you know? It almost sounds like it and it almost sounds like you believe that slavery was a blessing. You seem to think all the slaves were treated fairly and only the 'trouble makers' had a tough life. ?? And you'd be content being a slave? What if you were not on a plantation with a kind owner. Watching your wife get hauled away to be raped by the slave owner? Getting whipped til you had welts when for yelling when your child was taken away to be sold somewhere else? Getting whipped for crying when your wife was sold to someone else? These people were often treated like CATTLE.... no worse actually. Cattle are not whipped until their backs are raw. Your grasp of what actually occurred is staggering to me. And good for your friend who rose above. What about the generational people who are still angry? Maybe it would have been better for them, if they we still in Africa with a 'bone in their nose" as you say, being introduced to Christ by kind people who befriended them and cared about them?? Why are some of these American black people, or white for that matter, better off achieving success in the business world? Here we are bound by clocks and cars and traffic and line ups. Our time is limited. We miss an elevator and it can bring on frustration if we are 'late' for something. We work long hours away from our loved ones, commute through noisy traffic to finally get home and "have to cook" dinner or eat out, and maybe spend an hour with our children.... just waiting for the weekend. Do we have it better off than a tribe who wake up to the sounds of nature when they are rested, cook over an open fire with the family... the men go off to hunt for awhile while the women farm and teach children. The men come back, supper is prepared. People eat and make music and celebrate. Regularly. Is the North American lifestyle really even better? To say slavery was a good thing makes me feel that you have no real grasp on history. There are black men and women, (and Natives) still feeling the pain of horrible abused passed down from generations. The slavery and the past abuse from generations back is EXACTLY what makes them more unreachable. There are still people around today whose parents and grandparents were slaves. It wasn't that long ago. That's it for today. Maybe for good. lol. I know you all will have responses. I just don't if I can keep doing this.
-
Maybe the country was "great" for white people for a long time. The natives, whose land you took over... or the African Americans, who you dragged here in chains and were raped and made slaves for hundreds of years may not share your opinion that America was always so 'great.' Keep that in mind.

You, Morning Glory, said "There is absolutely NO reason for you to say these things. " I said : " Well, maybe you've never heard it said but I sure have. "America was founded on Biblical principals and values by our forefathers!" etc. etc, where they quote the constitution yadayada. You've never heard anything like that? " You Morning Glory said: "Of course I've heard it. I wasn't raised by wolves. I just object to your ugly comments about Americans and you might as well get used to that." ???????????????????????????????????????????????????/ I say now to Morning Glory, clearly you have way more idle time than i have. Can you please refrain from dragging me into silly discussions with you? I just don't have as much time to go back and show you how ridiculous this all is by copying and pasting, etc.
