  2. When I say 'I am a Christian'

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living.

I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.

I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.

I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on..

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.

I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect.

My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain.

I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,

I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow!

    JIME :noidea:

    P.S.

I received this via email and thought I would share it. It is so true!!!

  3. The earth is land as Nebula has stated. However, to say the flood was local is to say that when God created the land, the land that Noah inhabited would have to have been the only land created. We know that was not the case. Isaiah exlplains that the earth is a circle (globe). This was absolutely proven when we started to explore space. The earth is a circle with lots of land on it. Noah did not inhabit all of the land areas, he did however, inhabit the earth. The flood was a global flood just as scripture states.

  4. It is really pretty.

But it doesn't look real. I mean, I have seen alot of pictures that look like this done by artists.

I am very suspicious of the NASA photos. :( They have an agenda :21: about our origin. They would go to great lengths to make people believe want they want them to believe.

Remember, they believe the Universe started from nothing that exploded into something billions of years ago.:35:

  5. I was wondering, does anyone else experience this?

When I read the Bible aloud, I constantly find myself yawning :whistling: . Does that happen to anyone else?

When I read silently or listen to my audio Bible and follow along, I don't experience this.

Do you think that it is because satan is trying to stop me from speaking the word which is very Powerful over him?

Please tell me what you think.

  6. Does anyone know anything about stamp collecting?

Sure. It's the most mind-boggling boring hobby there is on planet earth.

    Hope that helps!

    :blink::24: Not At All :24: !!!

I am looking for serious replies here, not ones like this  !!!!

  7. One suggestion is to go on e-bay. They have a "community" tab. Then go into the "neighborhood" section from there. Type in "stamp collecting." Post what you have and see what the stamp collectors say. I had lots of help identifying some coins in the Coin Collecting neighborhood.

    Thanks Creed.

I will take you up on that suggestion and let you know how I do.

  8. Does anyone know anything about stamp collecting? I recently came across a stamp collection book that my mother aquired. The title is "International Junior Postage + Stamp Album. It has a lot of stamps in it from other countries and also a smaller booklet of stamps that is called "The Portwood Company: Postage stamps for Collectors" They appear to have been published around the 1940's. Any ideas about them? Thanks in advance.

  9. I was reading my devotional for today and then I read your praise. To me they belong together... By beholding Him I shall be changed into His image. I cannot change my own character, save by partaking of the grace of Him who is all goodness, righteousness, mercy, and truth. But by beholding Him, I shall catch His spirit, and be transformed into His likeness... The heart that is filled with the grace of Christ will be made manifest by its peace and joy; and where Christ abides, the character will become purified, elevated, ennobled, and glorified.

    Amen :emot-pray:

  10. A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible -- Psalm 23. She gave the youngsters a month to learn the verse. Little Bobby was excited about the task, but he just couldn't remember the Psalm. After much practice, he could barely get past the first line. On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Bobby was so nervous. When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly, "The Lord is my shepherd . . . and that's all I need to know!" :noidea:

  11. I was born with bright copper penny red hair and.....you guessed it!!! I have :P FRECKLES :24: !!!! I hated them as a kid. I burned so easily. I would get big blisters on my shoulders and my mom had to keep me covered all the time. :24: I hated it.

We had a African-American family that lived down the street from us that we were friends with. The oldest girl was dating this guy and he would tease me. He told me "I am going to buy a Freckle Picker and pick all your freckles off and put them on me." :24: I was about 4-5 years old at the time. I truly beleived :24: he was going to do it. I sure was disappointed :24: when I realized he was just kidding  .

Well, I have gotten use to the freckles since then. They don't bother me anymore. But I still burn easy and my hair color is strawberry-blond now with a few gray hairs every once and a while. :noidea:
