  1. At the risk of starting a debate (I hope not!!), do you think it is okay for a Christian to follow the laws of the OT...eating clean, observing the feasts, etc.?
I voted yes. :emot-pray: The Lord put alot of that in to place to better our lives. Like not eating certain things, which could cause health problems and such. I would love to observe actual Jewish traditions like the Passover Meal. :emot-hug: I think it would be an eye opening experience!!! :emot-hug:
  2. What would you do with the money if you won the lottery? Let's say you hit it at 20 million

Well to start, I would pay off all my debt. Then I would help out my In-Laws in their retirement by giving them at least 2-3 million because they have help my husband and I so much over our 25 years of marriage. It would be the least I could do to pay them back. Then I would fix up our house and maybe sell it and buy a new one in a nice location. I might get a new vehicle for my Husband and one for myself. The rest I might invest and put in the bank for retirement.

  3. Received in an e-mail this morning...author unknown.

Heavenly Father, Help us remember that the jerk=(Person)who cut us off in traffic last

night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and is rushing home to

cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments

    with her children.

Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested young man who

can't make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing

his apprehension over final exams with his fear of not getting his student loans

    for next semester.

Remind us, Lord, that the scary looking bum=(Man), begging for money in the same spot

every day (who really ought to get a job!)=(but I don't really know his situation) is a slave to addictions that we can

only imagine in our worst nightmares.

Help us to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the

store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment,

knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be

the last year that they go shopping together.

Heavenly Father, remind us each day that, of all the gifts you give us, the

greatest gift is love. It is not enough to share that love with those we hold

dear. Open our hearts not to just those who are close to us, but to all

humanity.. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy

    and love.

(And Lord, give me humility in my prayers, Amen)

Working for God on earth doesn't pay much......but His retirement plan is out of this

    world!!!

I liked it :8: except for the parts highlighted red. I added in green marked by () what I think it could say.

  4. No LOL - I mean what did you mean by having God translate you?

 Sorry, I thought you didn't understand the question. Translate: I have heard this word used to describe being "snatched away".

    Heb 11:5 (AMP)

Because of faith Enoch was caught up and transferred to heaven, so that he did not have a glimpse of death; and he was not found, because God had translated him. For even before he was taken to heaven, he received testimony [still on record] that he had pleased and been satisfactory to God.

  5. What would you do if you lived on one of the coasts, and you knew that a big asteroid was going to hit the ocean near your home, and it would cause a 200 foot tsunami, and you only had two hours to escape, but all the roads were jammed with people trying to get out?
Well, there is not much I could do. The only action I could take would be to pray for Divine Intervention!!! Like "Jesus please translate me, like you did Phillip, to the furthest place possible from here!!! Amen"

If you had the ability to fly without wings or mechanical assistance, would you?

    translate?

If you could fly under your own ablility, would you do it?

  7. God's Christmas Gift

'Twas the night before Christmas and in Heaven above,

The angels were watching with such intense love!

For the Prize of all Heaven was coming to earth.

And a manger was chosen as His place of birth.

Mary, his mother (so weary and worn),

Was glad Joseph found a place cozy and warm.

And now, as she labored, a new life began...

Destined to bring life to each willing man.

While out on the hillsides, the angels sang, "Glory!"

Shepherds stood, trembling, as they heard the story.

Quickly, they followed the angel's clear way

Finding baby Jesus upon the clean hay.

Down from the heavens, there came a new light.

A star born anew on that very night!

Softly, the mother sang sweet lullabies.

'Til sweet baby Jesus closed His little eyes.

    Humbly, the shepherds gave worship and praise;

Bowing down softly where God's baby lay.

They told how the angels had spoken to them,

"Joy to the world and peace to all men!"

The wise men were coming, having followed the star.

They were bringing the Savior their gifts, from afar.

    And up in God's Heaven, a great sigh was heard;

As the angels looked down on God's own Living Word.

They had to come closer. They loved Him so much!

Their wings swept by Him, for just one more touch.

Then they nestled by legions, above His wee bed,

And spread out their wings; enclosing the shed.

Yes, trials would follow. A plan was engaged.

But just for tonight, the angels would say,

"Oh, men of earth, who struggle in vain,

Seek here and find release from all shame.

"Peace on the earth! Oh, learn it anew.

Peace! God has sent His own Son to you!"

  8. Now that we are on this: What if your door bell rings and three little green men stands at the door.

Asking you to take them to your leader.

Who would you take them to :)

I would take them staight to Jesus :D so He could turn them from their wicked ways trying to make people believe in aliens!!!! Shame on those men dressing up in costumes!!! :24:

What if you discovered that your neighbor was a terrorist, Would you turn them in?

  9. My Husband and I watch TBN, but we are choosey about who we listen to on there. If the teaching/doctrine are questionable, we change the channel. There are alot of other Christian channels out there to watch. We don't have cable or satelite, so we go to a website called Christian Tuner.com and watch it there. There are also alot to Christian websites you can watch good christian teaching.

  10. Only One

Up at the head table in the cafeteria, one of the nuns had placed

a big bowl of bright red, fresh, juicy apples. Beside the bowl,

she placed a note which read, "Take only one.

    Remember, God is watching."

At the other end of the table was a bowl full of freshly baked

chocolate chip cookies, still warm from the oven.

Beside the bowl, a little note scrawled in a child's handwriting

which read, "Take all you want. God's watching the apples." :emot-fail:

  11. What if your pet gained the ability to talk for a day - would you be worried what it would say about you?

I would love it if my dogs could talk to me with a human voice. I think they would say how much they love me and want to always be with me.

    **************

What if you were given the opportunity to do someone else's job for a day. What job would it be and why?

  12. Sometimes I watch movies, I think everyone does. But some movies are great movies EXCEPT for that sex scene or that remark about her body or that curse word etc etc. Is it wrong to watch movies that stimulate both spiritual and flesh? What is the line between an OK movie and a not OK one? I mean I'm a superhero fan more than anything, so I like to watch movies like the incredible hulk (the newer one) and iron man and so on. But, in some of those movies, like for example Ultimate Avengers, there are some things that are needless to say lustful. It is a great movie with great morals but in the end all I end up thinking about in the long run is that one seen or that one word. Even in comedy movies! Take Yes Man. Some of that movie was NOT NEEDED AT ALL to make it funny. I mean without those scenes it would have still been amazing. I am ok when the movie IMPLIES SOMETHING HAPPENED but when they SHOW IT thats the problem. So, are movies something we should just cut out all together?

    A Mighty Man Of Valor

    Gregor

    Gregor,

If you are a Christian, ask yourself this very important question, Would Jesus be sitting here enjoying this movie? If your answer is NO, then that particular movie is not for you. Let the Holy Spirit instruct you on which movies are pleasing to God. I know if I am watching a movie and I hear or see something that starts making me feel uncomfortable while watching it even though I am enjoying it, I get a knawing in my gut so to speak, I take that as a cue from the Holy Spirit, that I shouldn't be watching it.

Psalm 101:3 says, "I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not fasten its grip on me."

Prov 6:12 says, "A worthless person, a wicked man, Is the one who walks with a perverse mouth."

    I hope this helps,

  13. What if you are out for a walk and notice your neighbor, Howard's prize weiner dog, Tina outside... Tina is NEVER out alone and you know where Howard's key to the basement is (been there for 30 years) so, you pick up Tina and put her in the basement and return the key. The next day you find out from your husband that he talked to Howard and SOMEBODY put a male half-breed weiner dog in his basement and that dog was with Tina for several hours and chewed up a sofa? Would you remain quiet or would you tell your husband so he could tell Howard? :emot-hug:

Yes, I would tell my husband so he could tell the neighbor. Then I would offer to pay for the chewed up sofa.

What if you and your friends were talking about what you would do if you suddenly got a lot of money. You tell them that you would share it with them. It just so happens, that a week later you inherit 2 million dollars from a long lost relative. Would you do with the money what you said you would do?

  14. Psalm 139

1 O Lord, You have searched me and known me.

2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar.

3 You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.

4 Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O Lord, You know it all.

5 You have enclosed me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it.

7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?

8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol , behold, You are there.

9 If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,

10 Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me.

11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, And the light around me will be night,"

12 Even the darkness is not dark to You, And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You.

13 For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb.

14 I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.

    15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;

16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.

17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

18 If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.

19 O that You would slay the wicked, O God; Depart from me, therefore, men of bloodshed.

20 For they speak against You wickedly, And Your enemies take Your name in vain.

21 Do I not hate those who hate You, O Lord? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?

22 I hate them with the utmost hatred; They have become my enemies.

    23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts;

24 And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way. Psalms 139:1-24 (NASB)

  15. As the flight progessed, unbeknownst to Officer Worthy and Margie, one of the planes engines stopped working and the other was now begining to fail. The pilot announced "The plane has to make an emergency landing in Cairo, Egypt due to machanical difficulties." "Machanical difficulties!?" Officer Worthy said, "It looks a little bit more serious than that!" Margie looked at Officer Worthy worried and concerned and said "Now how are we going to get to Kenya?" Officer Worthy said, "If we land ok, I am sure the Airport will help us make other arrangements."
