  1. ok folks good responses thank you for looking at this. I found a web site for that seems to have most of the details http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jena_Six#Defense_fund I do not condone the actions of the jena 6, but I do feel that justice seem to be lopsided, take the inident with the shotgun the white kid gets nothing and black kids get charged with thief for keeping from getting shot, and if the white kid was being chased and was just defending himself, which ment the black kids were trying hurt him why didnt they shoot him after they got the shotgun. the what ifs are too many for exact detail. and i was hoping the discusion could be more focused on the mainstream christian response or lack of response, I think we had real chance to show a unified demonstation of gods love to the world , but that would of ment stepping out of comfort zone. argree or disagree and how do we not let this happen again?
  2. does anyone have any opions about this
  3. A couple weeks ago there was a big media push about the jena 6, if your not sure what i'm talking about then i think i've proven my piont. this is my mad about what i saw, what i saw was that according to the reports is that jim crow still seems to be alive and well in jena, and if this is true the church as a whole regardless of creed color or denomnation should have spoken out against this vile form of oppession. what i saw was a big push from the democrcy now folk and assoc. and the african american church. what i didnt hear from was from the main stream preachers saying anything about this, during the day i get time to lissen to national preachers, cause i work out of my car . and i heard nothing from them at about the jena 6. when cnn was telling people get on buses and go to jena, were there any promonate well known preachers getting there buses filled up to show that we are standing with them. maybe we were there and just not reported about. so i guess my first question is was there a unity christian collilation in jena or was it a photo opp for al sharptin and crew. was any one from whorthyboards there in person to witness this. and if not then i guess, but rather not guess because the truth is the only thing worth getting mad about. trully mad that i wasn't there
  4. I think maybe hes watched "the ballad of bobbie riddick" to many times or maybe because he choses not to clairify his statements he hopes that we will make our own guesses and start a nice disstracting disscution (yes i cannot spell) so unless our story teller enlightens us , we should not waste any more time on this thread
  5. relationship is the key. so the question is how do you build a relationship with the children, when you only see them once a week, is there a posibility of maybe taking out these kids for lunch, one at a time. i think you'll find that by themselves they are different children then they are when they are together. another suggestion is when you read the stories have some of the kids come and act out the scenes as you read them, so even though they may have heard them before, seeing there class mates up there they may have more attention because they involed in the story. hope this helps
  6. without Knowing details of what you fight about or why you fight, or what your personal backgrounds are,it is hard for me to give specific advice that would be truly helpful. I did notice you said you moved to large city. and that most of your freinds are not christains. my advice to you is find fellowship in the city that you are in, let the pastor know whats going on, and hopefully he get you the help you need. im praying that you find the fellowship that you need
