  1. You know...I don't think there's anything that anyone can say to you that is going to change your stance. Homosexuality is a sin, plain and simple. No if, ands, or buts. As I stated, if you abstain from sex, you are no different from a single heterosexual male or female. If you're worried about the way the world sees gays, maybe you should try to change that. The image the world has about gays was brought about by the gays themselves. I'm an indian. In the area that I live, we are thought of drunks. Why? Because no one sees the ones who have jobs, because we're usually in bed at a decent hour. When someone sees a drunk indian, it is widely accepted that we are all like that. Should I feel sorry for myself? No. Because no matter what I say or do, someone is always going to have that image of a drunken indian. How does the world see blacks?...crack dealers and pimps. Jews...born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Irish...drunken brawlers Italians...mafia, organized crime. Every group has their own bad image. The trick to overcoming these images is to let them go. If you can't let these images go, you will never move forward.
  2. Nebula I let it go, you should do the same. I have my interpretation you have yours. You know my stance on this issue. If it's such a big deal for you to win this debate, than ok....you're the winner.
  3. You know...if you abstain from sex, there would be no difference between you and a single heterosexual male or female. I don't know what else to tell you. If you're truly searching for God, He'll find you. If you're going to abstain from sex, your being gay isn't an issue. If people have a problem with that, it's their problem not yours. If you're looking for information and resources, Google is a good place to start. You have the world at your fingertips.
  4. Sometimes my son thinks he IS a god! Ok, seriously now..... and pictures and statues of saints, are the same as pictures of my family. They are people I admire. People I try to emulate. Sometimes even people I adore. They are not people I worship. That's my point. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's getting late and I have nothing to do tomorrow, so before I leave, I want you to ponder this... Is there someplace in the bible that states that it is ok to paint a picture, make a statue, or any other work of art that depicts the image of God? Even if we don't worship them, does the bible tell us that it is ok for us to have them? Give that some thought before you answer. See you in the AM.
  5. Sin is sin. Start a thread on adultry, stealing, lying or whatever and see how many times homosexuality is mentioned. Homosexuality is not the big evil, it's the topic of the thread.
  6. Pictures of your son and pictures of God are two different things. You know what I meant We'll give it a bit more time...
  7. You know.....there's really no point in going on with this debate. You guys are firm in your beliefs, as am I. The original question was answered...twice. She now has two options. If you insist that I answer your questions, I will. But I really don't see the point.
  8. Lu 6 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Heb 4 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Lu 7 35 But wisdom is justified of all her children. Denise <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Amen.
  9. Are you afraid to answer my question for some reason?? Is the picture ok or not? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Of course it is. If it were not, I would have said so. You know that. You settle down. Another day perhaps.
  10. As I stated I meant no disrespect, but if you choose to take it as such, that's your business. I simply stated you may need to study more. If you don't accept my interpretation, fine, I'm ok with that. Do I have to accept yours before you're ok with it? I agree, study was the wrong word. How about meditate. Meditate on Gods Word. As for your scripture refs. What do you want me to say? Can't argue against something I agree with.
  11. How big was the fish? You know what I'm saying Fiosh. Maybe you should start a thread on this topic. Start it and sit back and listen. If you are truly honest with yourself, you can not see it any other way. What do you think? Shall we stir the pot?
  12. Foish How does the RCC know what my interpretation is? What is your interpretation of those verses? Put the RCC aside, what do you believe? When you stand before God to give an account, the RCC won't be there to give it for you. I'm not trying to trip you up kiddo, this is some very serious stuff. You shouldn't rely on the belief of others to get you into the kingdom of God.
  13. I'm not going to go in circles about this. You can believe what you feel is right. Take a poll...see how many people knew about those two rivers. Matt. 24:12 "....the love of many will grow cold". The message Christ is trying get across here is, Cold...He would rather have someone flatout deny Him than to have a church that only pays lip service. Hot...Being filled with the Spirit. Walking in the ways of the Lord. Not pretending too. Lukewarm...Putting on a good show for others while the heart is filled with deceit. Look at the church in general and tell me you don't see a lukewarm church. If the message was only ment for the Laodiceans, why do we have it? Your "left field" remark. To someone who knows nothing about baseball or what a baseball field even looks like, the term "out of left field" means nothing. Why would God rather have someone hate or not know Him? People that hate or don't know God, don't preach His word. You know where that individual stands as far as God is concerned. People that are Lukewarm try to live in both worlds. They preach one thing and do another. Look at all the different denominations out there. Thats a Lukewarm church. There are so many different messages out there, who's to know what to believe. Where are the hot and cold rivers mentioned in the bible? I don't doubt you...I must have missed it. These are my beliefs. If you disagree, that's your business. I have no problem there. To walk in the Lord is Spiritual. His Word instructs us on how to build ourselves up spirirtually. What do two rivers have to do with being spiritual?
  14. And according to This site which includes pictures of the ruins: From this perspective, "cold" meant refreshing (you know how refreshing it is to drink cold water, don't you?) and "hot" meant healing (the hot water springs were a healing center). Hope this helps, Yomo! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Be careful what you teach. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Even when it's historically, linguistically, logically, spiritually, and biblically accurate? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How many people on this board know about the rivers mentioned? How many knew 100 years ago? Cold water isn't always refreshing. Have you ever fell through the ice? Christ may have been using the rivers as a ref., but they are not what He was referring too. Cold..Not knowing who God is. Hot..Being filled with the Spirit. Living in the Word. Lukewarm..Knowing God but backsliding. Putting the cares of the world before God. I see your point about the rivers, but unless they are mentioned in this passage, they mean nothing. That's how I see it . If anyone wants to believe otherwise, they have that right. It's nice to know about the physical locations of places mentioned in the bible, I just don't believe it's necessary.
  15. 16. oh i know the board's general feelings about homosexuality. so i have a different opinion. so i shouldnt voice it? typical christians..anyone who disagrees should stay quiet still didnt answer my question btw <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I disagree with a lot that goes on this board and I let it be known. Homosexuality and christrianity do not mix. Like water and oil, you can't combine them. You want to be gay, be gay, I don't have a problem with that. You want to wear speedos and march down our city streets, go for it. You can do whatever you want to do, but don't complain about how the world sees you. We're not the ones who put that image in peoples heads. Christians aren't the only ones who see your lifestyle as different. You want to be seen as the same as everyone else, but you continue to show that you're different. When was the last time you saw a "heterosexual pride" parade? I'm not bashing you, but I don't wrap my head around your issues either. You chose that lifestyle and all that goes with it. If you don't like the way the world sees you, change it.
  17. The Lords prayer first then yours. Ask God to harden your heart to her. Ask Him to take away the emotions. I know this is really hard for you but you have to make an effort. Stop calling her, no more emails, break off all attempts at contacting her. You are only hurting yourself. She made her choice, now you have to make yours. God is willing to work with you but you have meet Him halfway.
  18. God is talking about the mind of believers. He is basically saying that it would be better to not know Him than to know and ignore Him. If we are caught in that luke warm state on judgment day, I believe we lose our salvation. If in fact we were saved to begin with. His vomit ref. makes that clear. The condition of our hearts at the time of death is what God looks at in determining our salvation. Simply believing in God will not get you into heaven. I do believe however that if a person never heard of Christ and lived a good life, his good deeds will not go unnoticed.

    Our World

The sin has always been there, the only thing different is that society no longer looks down on sin. The one true God has been replaced by one that is more lenient and less judgmental. The dollar sign has become the ruler in most peoples lives and sad to say the church is right there with them.
  20. My point is that fear is not respect, it is not taking God for granted, it is not following His comandments, and fearing Him and being afraid of Him are indeed the same thing. The only fear that I could have of walking down any empty street in any neighborhood at 3 AM would be if the Lord was not with me.
