  1. {{{{{mathy}}}}} You know where to find me, sweety.
  2. Will you please be more specific?
  3. Thank you - so very much - for this analogy. I, also, am dealing with a crisis marriage filled with verbal abuse.... and this puts so much perspective on the issue. I've struggled to find reason in the situation - this helps tremendously, knowing that there is no reasoning... Julie
  4. If she won't go anywhere to test, have you considered purchasing a home kit and doing it together? Make it easy and confidential for her - and then if it comes back positive, you can go from there. It needs to be done somehow - do this as a friend.
  5. Didn't Jesus institute communion for the rememberance? Last I checked Jesus was removed froom the cross. I sure wouldn't want to keep Him there seems too ouchy <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  6. Folks, I've received the answer I was looking for. Apparently it's an endless debate which really will not be settled in this forum. I vote to consider the thread closed. Julie
  7. Thank you for your response. I've just noticed that there seems to be a different feeling when I'm in a Catholic church with a crucifix as opposed to a protestant church with a cross - I seem to feel the presence of Jesus differently. Maybe it's just what I'm accustomed to. And I certainly understand the cross as being a presence within each of us, and not an idol hanging on a wall. Yes, I am Catholic, and yes, I do kneel in church, but it is before I am humbling myself before Christ, not a crucifix. And, I agree, it doesn't make me any closer to salvation than those who don't. Just something I've wondered. Julie
  8. So are Catholics the only denomination that displays a crucifix? I know that some Catholic churches used to display a cross with the Risen Christ, but the archdiocese asked that they return to a crucifix for uniformity purposes. I was disappointed with that, but that's just me. Julie
  9. Something I've wondered for a while: Why do Catholic churches have crucifixes and other churches have crosses? Just wondering. Julie
