nebula, My mom, sister and her family are at a shelter in Trinity and my daughter and her family are in Humble with her mother in law. They have not been back to their houses yet, but we are trusting God that is all okay. God bless you and thank you for your prayers in our behalf. betty

At this moment, hurricanes are not a joke to me. My mom and sister and her family are on the road, who knows where, trying to escape Houston. The last time I had talked to her they had been on the road for 12 hours and still in Houston. My daughter is at her mother-in-laws praying she won't lose everything she owns like she did with tropical strom allison. Yes, there have been alot of post about hurricanes, but there are so many people who have already lost all their stuff not even counting the thousand that died and now we face a similar situation again. No, I admit I am not in a joking mood at the moment. betty

I talked to my daughter in Houson and they have already cancelled the schools. We need to pray for Houston. My mom's Church has opened their gym for those misplaced by Katrina. We need to pray the storm does not go to Houston and displace them again and others. betty

Could it be talking about God ascending to Heaven. Notice it said there will be some here that will not taste death until they see the Kindgon of God has come into power and not say never die. Once the rapture takes place, death will end for the Christians. betty

I believe that the wearing of hats for women was the custom of the day, but not observed by most today. I think it is more important for a woman to be humble in spirit. Let's face it women can use hats as a symbol of pride. My hat is prettier than yours, attitude. My daughter's mother in law considers herself a better Christian then me because she doesn't cut her hair or wear pants. But she over looks the fact that she has not been inside her Church's doors in 4 years. It is one thing to give up stuff as a dedication to God it is quite another to use it as a tool to feel superior to others. betty

How does Christmas bring good attention to Jesus? Well for one thing there are still people who will go to Church at Christmas and Easter that do not go all year. Also, at Christmas time, people start to think about Jesus and this can be a good thing. Why do I celebrate? Because it is a time for my family to remember that Jesus left Heaven to be born in a stable. He left glory not for a earthly mansion but for a lowly stable. Christmas is a time for families to get together. Even those who feel uncomfortable expressing their love for brothers and sisters are apt to do it at Christmas. Yes, the world has done bad things to Christmas, but what I do with Christmas is up to me. I choose to celebrate it as a memorial to Jesus. betty

I love Christmas. I love having a tree and a manger set ( I made the manger set). I love the Holidays. Every Thanksgiving my son comes over and helps me put up my tree. I love the way people are more loving at caring at Christmas. I am 53 years of age and I can still remember my first pageant at Church as a young child wearing dyed sheet and a halo made from a hanger and foil. betty

I disagree. I believe what is going on is preparing Israel to be willing to accept the peace treaty brokered by the anti-Christ. Yes Israel will accept Jesus as a Nation, but not until the middle of the tribulation. Does God allow evil for good? Yes many times in the Bible. Is it His will for evil to happen? No, but He allows things evil to work because God gave mankind freedom of will. betty

my computer addiction is the sims, although I spend more time downloading stuff for the game then playing the game. betty
