  1. If these two do not believe in the authority of the bible what do they believe! The bible is very clear on what is right sexually and any attempt to undermine the bible's authority on the subject requires arguing from a non-biblical stance. This is what these two so called experts are doing. A non-biblical stance is always taken from the world and is usually based on either ideas derived from other religions or from a humaniterian basis (as long as two people love each other, etc.) Whenever Christian believes moves away from what God expects, we run into trouble and a mess ensures. Stick to the bible and ask God for revelation on its meaning.

    Jesus Wept

No one answered the second question. I would say yes, otherwise Lazarous is still walking around some where on the Earth.
  3. If the film is a true account of real events, I think it is good that the world (and us Christians) are made aware that these things happen, but knowing hollywood, the reality has been doctored for the big screen. The film industry has created such imagined horrors on screen, real horrors have much less impact, and I think that is a great worry. What the bible warns as ungodly is no longer considered as such by the world and by many Christians. Witchcraft wrong, not if its a white witch!!!!!!!! I have heard a Christian defend that view. If even Christians can no longer see what is godly or not, we have much to concern ourselves about.
  4. Matthew 5 The Fulfillment of the Law 17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. The above passage from Matthew clearly states that the Law remains and we are to try and keep them. As it is impossible to not break the Law at some time (otherwise Jesus would not have needed to die for our sins), Jesus forgives our sins when we ask him to forgive us. Verse 19-20, states that anyone who teaches that it is OK to break the Law will not have greatness in heaven and might even be refused entry. By how you describe your boyfriend he could be in serious trouble. The Law of God is there for our own protection. If God's Law is ignored what stops us from hurting each other. We can see from society what happens when people ignore the Law of the Land, so how much greater the suffering when society ignore God's Laws. We must always be vary of anyone who turns us away from the truth. You say you had a strong faith before meeting this person, ask yourself, is he helping you into heaven. How did you meet him? Clearly not in a Church. Where did he get his teaching from? What is his reason for saying the things he says? Does he belong to a Christian cult? You must ask yourself these questions.
  5. Hi Crystalbean. I am wondering if you could expand on why you had a sudden change of believes at 17. Did something happen or did you get other teaching, etc. This would help us to answer your question. In the mean time in replies to some of your queries: 1) Our believes (and yours) is not blind. 2) Loop holes, uncertainties and different understandings are mainly down to Christians not studying their bibles properly, recieving bad teaching or putting in what they wish it said. 3) The bible has to be written by many people because it covers thousands of years and contains events seen from different peoples view points. E.g. The 4 Gospels describe Jesus's life from 4 different person's experiences. Bibles are translated from original documents written in the text's original language. (Hebrew, Latin, Greek, Cuniform etc) 4) Those who are strongest in faith do not rely only on what the bible says, but on day to day experiences living with our God. For how much God can do in our lives read books about missionaries, they go through some of the most amazing experiences. 5) The bible is not unstable. There is plenty of Historical and Archaeological evidence which supports the bible. No other religion has allowed its texts to be exammined and tested like the Christian Bible and yet no one has disproved it. I believe no other religious book will survive such intense criticism.
