  1. Thanks, everyone. Glad this section of the forum exists- I've put it to heavy use the past 1.5 years. Still have some bad head pain, but the cough is better than yesterday. Thank God.
  2. Hi. Praise be to God. My head pain was doing better from an injury over 1.5 years ago. Pain moved to the roof of the mouth- maybe because of a tooth injury. Nerve pain. Got sick from the people I live with. Now have a horrible cough- hurts my jaw, chest, neck, throat, and especially brain. No phlem is coming up. Sometimes I just wheeze. I've tried lots of water, cough medicine, Airborne, cough drops, and prayer. I hope this gets better soon. A cough will hit w/o warning, and I despise it so much. I've been coughing more in the past six days than in my entire life combined before this. Almost never coughed when sick before. Never smoked. Christ be with you. Amen. Thank you.
  3. Thanks for the insights, everyone. Great story, Nebula. Glad to hear you're in a relationship. The analogy of flies on a window works as well. I'll consider that book. Trying very hard to be the best man possible. I'm 38. Who knows, maybe 41 will be my time as well. If not, I'm happy to be alive without horrible physical pain (just mild currenly).
  4. I guess it is hard to know til you pass away. God calls some of us to be single for our lifetime. But others may be called to dating/courting in order to have a relationship. But we have no idea when. It may be our time to go on a date 20 years from now, or next month. I haven't gone out with a woman since using eHarmony four years ago or so. It seems like the only way for single Christians to meet? Seems so difficult at church- as if it is a bad thing to seek courting/relationship there. This topic isn't a big deal to me. Just figured I'd put it out there for other single Christians today. Thanks for reading. Peace of the Lord be with you.
  5. Very sorry to hear that. I know what you're going through. I lost my favorite job back in early '02 after 9/11 wrecked the economy. The way to move on might be to pray & trust in God to provide work you love as you search.
  6. Yeah. Good points. Thanks. I'm just going to live for the Lord, and see what happens tomorow.
  7. Live a long life with horrible physical pain & emotional despair from a certain relationship/circumstance ? Or a shorter life that was relatively free of such intense things? Yet in both still loving the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind. And your neighbor as yourself. And cherishing life for the gift it is from God. I suppose the point is moot, since the Lord alone knows when our physical time is up. The former way of life may end with one bringing one person to Christ, which makes it all worthwhile. But I find myself wishing for the latter more and more. Or will God allow physical healing? And physical life no longer remains a chore. Haven't posted in quite a while. Hope you're all doing well. Peace of the Lord be with you always.
  8. Thanks hmbld & nChrist. I do know that many poeple Christian & non live in far greater pain & die every day. I was howling like an animal & wanting to die yesterday. Good scriptures. Took me a while to read, but I really appreciate it. I know any of us can die or be hit with with unimaginable pain at any second tht lasts 40 years +. But our hope in Christ keeps us stong & working for Him. I've only had chronic pain for 15 months. Pain on top of pain is a downer, especially when the new pain is severe. But the week is young, and I am hoping it will end well.
  9. Thank you. It is worse. And I was under emotional stress as well. Lord, please help. Please.
  10. Hey- Just thinking how the Enemy tears us down- by tempting us with sin, and with pain & hardship. If you are not being tempted by sin so much, he might try to tear us down w/emotional and/or physical pain. I remember emotional pain- thank God it doesn't pop up too often. But this ongoing physical pain- with a twist- post-concussion headache (mild, thank God), tooth nerve pain and for the past few days intestinal pain & diar... (sorry to post that). It is from our broken world & the Enemy. God doesn't want us to suffer. I know others have it far worse, but I am so fed up with the physical body. Must be thankful for the miracle of hope & healing in Christ, though- Thanks for reading.
  11. I'm OK, thanks for asking. I can understand how some people w/certain conditions can't go. Just wish churches would consider one of their services being old-school (like from biblical times- non-amplified). It was never a concern before the brain injury. I could try talking to someone there sometime though- (besides the welcome desk).
  12. Not a big deal for many of us, or myself before my head injury. But afterward, the amplifier volume among other things had me concerned about tooth nerve pain & headache. Last time I went I ws in a lot of pain & left when the sermon started. I had earplugs, but was a mess anyway from other injuries. That was months ago. But last week I found a seating area upstairs away from the sanctuary w/a monitor & worshipped there. And yesterday I went to the back row seat closest the door w/my earplugs, and made it through & didn't feel a pain increase after. Thank God. Now if only churches w/amplifiers would bring down the volume- It doesn't make a worship or sermon less powerful, in my opinion. I suggested they do so on the suggestion card. Good to be back-
  13. Cranberries is good- classic memories listening on the stereo at the small animation studio I worked at. I only remember one song w/a curse word. I listen to very unusual, yet very enjoyable music every day while working on indie video game art: Video game music on You Tube (and some from iTunes/CD). Soul Calibur 3 & 4, Tekken 6, Final Fantasy 12, Castle Crashers, and many more. Some of it is orchastrated, some is just rockin'. We've come a long way from 8 bit-
  14. Over 15 months of the brain injury, and not a cold yet. A few days ago, I made a mistake. And the nights became colder, and my whey protein ran out (I'm trying not to rely on it, though). I'm on the verge of a cold- sore throat. And the tooth nerves are hurting more- and the headache has increased. Thank God this didn't happen a year ago when the injury was early-on. Rest, water, and honey in breakfast. Maybe gargle w/salt water? But I thought I'd check in on this valid concern. Thanks-
  15. Thanks very much for the B-Day wishes & insights.
  16. Nice to post here instead of the Problem catagory for a change. Also, I turned 38 today. I'm borrowing a book called the Biblical Foundations of Freedom. Not a question so much, but Gen discussion didn't seem the place for Bible study- Rev. 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. The fearful. Yikes. I guess we need to watch how often we are afraid. Life can be dangerous, especially when you have a nasty injury. But caution is OK. Good book so far.
  17. That is exactly what it sounds like to me,nerve damage. We're you recently injured in the face or do you have numbness in the face? Very similar to the drooling caused by numbing the nerves at the dentist. Praying its not permanent. Yes- concussion 14 months ago. Banged a front tooth w/a thick glass 1 yr ago. Thanks for the prayer. Bigger problem came up today- but I will remain discreet for now since the person who hurt me might see this & that I posted.
  18. Thanks for the reply & prayer. Yes, I took an acetominophin a few nights ago (rarely take them). Had mild heart pains a bit. Maybe the tooth nerve hit a worse or better stage. Thank God it stopped this morning. Praying for people who have this as a permanent problem!
  19. Most of my problems tend to be medical. God covers sin (though I try not to), but the human body malfunctions in so many ways. I was drooling all over myself last night trying to go to bed, but God allowed me to sleep. Thanks be to God. Today I've been spitting in a cup. Could be an infection or nerve damage? Anyone else have this? I've read online that it might go away soon. Thanks...
  20. Thanks for the replies bothers & sisters. I listened to an amazing story from a believer who has suffered far more than I, and his miracle healing from asthma at the age of 12. A root canal alternative is a laser shot to deaden the nerve. I think the place I'm going to on Thurs. can do it. In the meantime- prayers out to all chronic pain people. May they be given the peace of the Lord.
  21. Thanks very much for the reply. I have seen some doctors over the past year or so; some that suggested I take drugs & said I was fine, others that wanted to string me along to see if it would work (chiro & accupuncture). The dentist said to wait for a tooth to turn grey. Then I could get a root canal. I researched a lot over the past year, and would like to possibly try Neurofeedback or Neuro Cranial Reconstruction. Maybe the Lord wants me to somehow find a Christian doctor that won't swindle me. Or He wants me to get insurance to find a pain specialist. Col. 3:3: For ye are dead, and your life is hid in Christ with God. Or wait. I'm trying new dentist on Thurs. Thanks for the prayers as well, Joe.
  22. Just curious. I read through the useful parts to me of a book called Conquering Chronic Pain from Injury, but I'm not sure if I should wait to heal, or pursue another way to beat pain, such as neurofeedback/therapy for the brain. God doesn't want us in chronic pain, but I wonder what He wants us to do. Well, thanks for any insight.
