  1. well all I can say about it damo, is that my post to you was meant to be uplifting and in respect of what you and your partner have been able to accomplish without the flesh getting in the way to prevent God's work from happening... blessings
  2. Suzanne, are you speaking directly to me, or when you say "you" is that a generalization?
  3. lovely artsylady, thanks for bringing that to light...I will come back to it. Good topic
  4. I hope it gets the attention here it needs
  5. Are you saying that men who agree with the Bible, especially the verses that have been quoted, have week constitutions and lack humility? Why do you assume we take these positions because we are threatened? Have you not noticed that better than half of the posts in this thread are by women? Please tell me what the Church of the United States is and how it's egos have been so bruised that they have become arogant and prideful. Since you seem to know all about Gods call, please be kind enough to share with us your wisdom and any scripture that would show our interpretations to be in error so we might avoid teaching false doctrine. 1)no sir I'm saying that the fight that is put up to prevent it is a good sign that they lack constitution and humility...I'm sorry does it appear that I am singling men out...I truly didn't mean to do that...I feel that it is a two-way street for both men and women...please forgive that slight it is both parties. It was not intended to single out the sexes and I should have caught that.... I was just expressing my opinion, many do it here.. 2) as for pride and arrogance just look at all the threads that people continually beat each other up on because they see things differently especially those who choose to live without the trappings of religion!! In fact look in the mirror at how my words have upset you so much and then deny that they didn't wound your pride....Who needs scripture for this display when the proof is written all over the halls of this "house of God", written alll over the huge controversies and hateful things that go about the churches, the internet and world wide because people's pride is wounded. boohoo 3)and there is no need to be snide. (edited because I had more to say...blessings)
  6. it is what I long for more than anything in my life
  7. well maybe I am low in spirit... Mat 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Luk 12:51 Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division; 2Ti 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. Eph 1:13 In him you also, who have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and have believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, Jhn 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me. 1Cr 2:10 God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Jhn 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; Rom 6:19 I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once yielded your members to impurity and to greater and greater iniquity, so now yield your members to righteousness for sanctification. Eze 39:29 and I will not hide my face any more from them, when I pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, says the Lord GOD." Joe 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Joe 2:29 Even upon the menservants and maidservants in those days, I will pour out my spirit. Act 2:17 'And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; Act 2:18 yea, and on my menservants and my maidservants in those days I will pour out my Spirit; and they shall prophesy. and amen
  8. wow! I am so very thankful that you have come and posted in the is thread. God is always faithful to bring what needs to come to help those who seek more than what is set on the table by man and their boundries. Praise the Lord...I love blueletterbible. I don't know that I am low of spirit but I am disheartened by how I see the world has tried to stifle and suffocate the beauty and bounty of our Lord.....how I am so thankful for your lovely post as it HAS ministered to my spirit. thank you and God bless (edited to add words that came to mind after posting)
  9. may God shower your lives with many blessings damo...you and your partner. It takes a man of strong constitution and a great amount of Godly humility to see that people don't need to be threatened by women as heads or leaders of a church. One day, I pray that the Lord place me in a role where I am able to lead and teach. But it won't be in another country it will be right here in the Church of the United States that has so much arrogance and pride it is incapable of seeing past bruised egos to understand that if the Lord calls He calls and that none should take issue with how He uses His vessels. Praise the Lord for your soon to be wife for sticking with it even when the times are tough. be blessed
  10. This is Gods word, not mans. Tell me where in the following verses does it say that women are considered to be chosen? Let me help you out a little ... 1 Timothy 3:1-13 Qualifications of Overseers This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. Qualifications of Deacons Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless. Likewise, their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. Titus 1:5-9 Qualified Elders For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you
  11. well I am not a Titus 2 woman... I am a warrior for Christ, I am a bride of the Shephard, I am a daughter of the King Most High, I am a son of God, I am a priest by the order of Christ by the order of Melchizedek I am a minister to the Lord I am neither male nor female, greek nor jew by the blood of Christ I have been given authority and wisdom over all matters and need not be shackled by man and their silliness.... Christ is all inclusive and none have to settle for what man says is so, for we have been made a bit lower than the angels, we are judges and we are the body. Christ is the foundation and the root...He and the Father are one, He and the Father and I are one..we are of one mind and one body.... ya'all wanna settle for being positioned by man, have at er...I will not have boundries placed on me by any ya'all!! woohoo, freeedommmmmm!! Joy to the World the Lord has COME!!! how's that for biblical?? blessings all
  12. if this statement were true, then I doubt highly that the Lord would have been the initiator of many wars in the days of OT....but I will pray and search verse to help you in this. be blessed
  13. What Scripture have we set aside???? I can think of this one: 1 Tim 2 : 11 Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a women to teach, nor usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. oh boy...here we go again.
  14. religion comes from two Greek words meaning a return to bondage. Christ came to set the captives free... If a church doesn't provide me with relationships, is that the church's fault? Is it Christs fault? Did he really free me? Or is it my fault for not living in that freedom? How many relationships would you say it takes to prove that I am free from religious bondage? Any specific kind of relationship? Jesus is content that I abide in Him. Shouldn't I be content to hear the Gospel, accept His love, and push the rest aside for awhile. After all, the Gospel is a seed. It doesn't turn into fruit over night. But if I tend the soil long enough, I will get the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, meekness, and self-control. Maybe without these fruits, I won't be able to have the kind of relationships that count. Maybe without patience, for instance, I cannot hear God speak because my mind is too cluttered with its own pseudoreligious junk. Maybe once I radiate love, joy, and peace, people in the church will be attracted to that and I will start having relationships that reflect the rest of the fruits. I like it simple most of the time. And the simple way to test this theory is to go to a Reformed Church that preaches just the Gospel and wait for God to give me the rest. If I trust him and have peace about the matter, what can go wrong? amen I think that many of us are quite capable of discerning religion vs relationship with Christ. And by no means should we trek out on our own, all alone, without fellowship amongst ourselves. I believe that it is oh so important though, that we know Christ on an intimate level so that He may teach us the difference between freedom and bondage. And to be able to stand and withstand the many evils of it. That's what is important to me anyhow, to not be sucked in by religion to the point where I have taken on works for salvation...works that are futile that put me in bondage of the law verses being a bond-servant for Christ.
  15. You bet! The closer you get to the Lord the harder satan fights to get you back. The old dragon has no power over you anymore; unless you give it to him. amen...we are placed for purpose and the more we find oppositions of the enemy the more we can probably realize we are exactly where we need to be...
  16. and even if you aren't called to it, the education sure isn't going to hurt...could be that the classes you are interested in will take you into an area of ministry you aren't anticipating but no matter, the Lord is in control and will use what you have been given...so march on!!!
  17. But, Jackie, once again, that doesn't speak to the gun being the problem. It was the person who shoved the gun in your face, not the gun. They were the ones who had the problem. People can use anything to threaten you, it doesn't have to be a gun. It could be a rake or a curling iron, the result is the same. The world is an evil place, with or without guns. if you were to read my statements Cobalt, I don't blame the guns, I blame people, sin and the enemy....you've misread me or have not heard everything I have said...even so, I don't advocate guns or the right to bear them..doesn't make me wrong, just makes me...well me
  18. I'm sorry, but this is another fallacy. The fact that citizens in the US can own guns is not the problem. I was raised around firearms. My Dad taught me a health respect for them. In all the time I have owned a gun, I never found myself wishing I could go out and kill someone or shoot someone simply because I had a gun. It is a very long stretch to say that because we have the ability to keep and bear arms, that it therefore must lead to the fact that we someday would like to use those same guns to create death and mayhem. Anyone who goes out and does things like what this thread is about have got some wires spliced together wrong. If someone wants to kill or hurt someone bad enough, not having a gun with which to do it is not going to stop them. The problems are basic, but no one wants to address the real issues. It is easier to blame a gun, than to deal with the fact that the problem is with us, our society, and the total break-down of moral fiber and personal responsibility. We have lost control of our children. We can't punish them, that would be cruel. We can't train them or expect them to act responsibly or with respect to those around them, that would be "limiting" them and stifling their creativity. We are not allowed to set boundaries for them, that would be cruel. We are told that executing someone for murder is inhumane, so we lock them in a box for a few years and just expect that when they get out, they will be magically cured. We blame the victims for what happened to them. Wrong place, wrong time, wrong clothes, wrong words, instead of blaming the person who hurt, abused or killed them. People who kill other people should forfeit their lives, period. No life term, no appeals, no plea bargains. Swift punishment with no hope of getting the sentence turned around is the only thing that is going to slow down violent crime. maybe we should vote you into office... save the tax payer a whole lot oh dough!!
  19. I will say amen to that...God never gives up on anyone while they still have the breath of life in them...He is so good
  20. yep, I think I spoke that from nearly the beginning of this thread...and you got it right I am an anti-gun folk...had one too many shoved in my face to feel that they are an okay part of ANY society...still and all, everything revolves around good and evil, righeousness and sin...dress it up to look any different the results are still the same.
