Ok, then when you're done reading the Word, how about you think on /about what you have just read? i'll give it a shot. it's going to be tough....i'm so used to just drift away daydreaming. even when i read the bible. i just start to daydream.

I have read some parts of john. i've read them before. i'd thought i'd warm up and read about the old testament first. since i don't read in spirit. i don't do anything in spirit really. just read. once i'm done. i just day dream somemore. thanks for the scriptures Joe. and thanks for the prayer.

Thinking how God's been able to use me in the past, i really don't think this village will be the last place i call home. Let alone the state. I do get scared of Gods plan for me when i think about what i have already done at the age from at least 15-17. i've done alot in those two years. after thinking about all of it....i really don't think i'll stay in Alaska anymore. i've stopped listening to metal months ago. i only started listening to Metallica again due to trying to relive my past. It started with Unforgiven and i just started to get very into metal. i listening to nothing but metal music for almost two years straight. i've lost interest in it about last year. Right now i listen to Mary Mary, Out of Eden, Kirk Franklin, Jason Upton, Third Day, Angela Pinkson, ZOEGirl, The Canton Spirituals, Chuck Wagon Gang. i've got alot of christain music to choose from. Christian Hip hop, pop, worship, gospel, country, RnB. alot of christian music to choose from. I don't own a bible anymore. Believe it or not....i threw mine away twice. the first time it was taken out and given back to me. the second time....i never saw it again. i'm reading a bible i found in the living room right now. I'm going through the old testament right now. Still have a ways to go to finish Jeremiah. I've got through reading 1 Samuel yesterday. I've written down alot of Jeremiah to remember. i do pray but it's brief. "thank you for today, give (Person's name) comfort, watch over me, keep my dreams safe. etc. i don't pray much. just briefly. just enough but not really fellowship with the holy ghost. What i've done in my youth for God and for others i've done alot. I didn't relize exactly how much i've done until a few months ago. it's almost like alzheimer's and it's all coming back. that's why i get afraid what the future has in store for me to do. i'm afraid to begin with. thinking about what Gods plan for me to do considering what i did in my youth. Letting everyone go seemed like the first step for me. i've already done half of that before i've come to this board. i don't talk to my sister anymore. i don't open up to anyone from my past anymore. it just seemed right to just let everyone go and not look back.

I've already lost alot of interest in material things. For the past 4-5 years my life has been nothing but daydreams and video games. Video Games. music, and movies is all i have been doing besides having fellowship over the internet. Matieral things don't fill me up any more like it first did and my imagination/video game was all i had. I've said it on here once i'll say it again. this is the most i've opened up since 07 on this site. from the testimony and prayer request. this is the most fellowship i've had. i did nothing but watch youtube videos and trying to relive moments i missed when i didn't worry much. just daydreaming of reliving those moments. staring into the computer screen and doing nothing but daydream. No he was far from a bad influence on my life. We were like brothers. he has a family of his own. they don't need my bad/negitive attitude when he has a daughter to look after. i have too much problems to deal with and he doesn't need my problems when he could be having some of his own. People were getting hurt because of me, that's why i cut myself off from everyone. the only comfort i found during 07 was listening to Metallica, Disturbed, and megadeth riding around alone. it didn't last long though. i know listening to metallica isn't comfort. i just got angry and didn't care anymore. i didnt' care if i crashed, i didn't care even as my broke ski on one side i went full throttle to get away. see this picture here, the crate to the right, i've fallen asleep in there. i've gotten 2x4 wood placed next to the crate and used it as a bed in 2006 and fallen asleep there alomst everyday getting away from everyone. this place is the villge dump. i did this almost all summer. http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/9015/dscf3532.png i went there to get away from everyone. daydreaming and listening to music. The less i was around people the less likey they would get hurt. once 07-08 rolled around. that's where i started to think of just letting everyone go. youtube, daydreaming, and videogames took alot of my time from then till now. it doesn't work anymore. i havn't done anything for God since 2004. and i lived my life for God very shortly in 2004. since then i've done nothing worth nothing in any way. Like i said before. i don't know if i still have friendships or a promise(female) to keep. i really don't know. that's why today i just thought of letting everything go and becomeing a new being and starting from scratch. I don't belong to them anymore. and my cousin was just the first i've let go since. if i see him again, i'll just say hi, and won't go past it from there. he has a family now. he doesn't need me and my problems. people from my past don't need me and my problems. that the thought that comes to mind. the have their own problems to worry about. they don't need to add mine in.

i don't know what to think right now. Two years ago i thought of not speaking to my cousin who was like a brother to me for most of my life of thinking of not ever talking to him again because i'm not the same anymore. i'm in the same room thinking of never talking to him again. He has a family of his own right now. it seems i've too much wrong to even speak to him again. it's a point in my life where i'll be thinking of never speaking or being in the presance of people from my past anymore. not in a suicidal thoughts or anything. just letting people go. for good. You know, when Jesus told one guy to sell everything he had and follow christ. i just started thinking like that. everyone i've met, everyone from my family to just literally leave and never come back. almost literally a new being. I havn't got to thinkong of changing my name or anything but. jsut to let everything go. i mean everything. so far i've let my birthday go, i don't celebrate it anymore because i don't see the point. same with new year celebrations and thanks giving. i just don't see the point anymore. i'm still in baby steps gaining back the life God had for me and still confused about life right now.

Even though it is not applicable, that doesn't mean it is no longer relevant. There still tons of spritual insights and lessons for Christians today. Furthermore studying the sacrifices helps you to see Jesus in the Old Testament and enables you to share Jesus out of Old Testament. It shows the unity of the Scriptures as one can see how the New Testament builds on the Old Testament. oh ok. i'll keep that in mind when i read about them.

i'll be waiting for the rest. Because.....In the old testament. God used a tent for rest i think. i can't remember where i read it. Might of been in Job, Daniel, or some other book in the bible. I've been doing a Bible search (you can check it out here), and I am not finding anything that looks like what you are talking about. But I am thinking it would benefit you to get a 1 year Bible or the like and spend some time each day reading the Bible, because it seems you have an image of God that isn't Him. 2 Chronicles 2:6 - But who is able to build a temple for Him, since the heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain Him? Who then am I to build a temple for him, except as a place to burn sacrifices before him? Now, the Lord did manifest His presence to the children of Israel via a cloud of glory - and that cloud would rest over the Ark of the Covenant which was placed within the Tabernacle (also called the Tent of Meeting - perhaps this is the "tent" you saw being mentioned?). Thus, this is where His Glory rested upon (and maybe this is where you heard about "rest"?). But God is not contained within that Glory, it was merely a minuscule manifestation of His presence. Let me show you something: Psalms 50:7-15 7 "Hear, O My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, your God! 8 I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices Or your burnt offerings, Which are continually before Me. 9 I will not take a bull from your house, Nor goats out of your folds. 10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills. 11 I know all the birds of the mountains, And the wild beasts of the field are Mine. 12 "If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness. 13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats? 14 Offer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High. 15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me." The sacrifices you see in the Old Testament were not about appeasing God nor doing Him any favors. Sacrifices were to point man to God's final redemption - the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross to atone for our sins. After Jesus' death and resurrection, there was no more need for sacrifices. The sacrifices He desires are our lives and our hearts, to seek after Him and to do His will, to love Him and to love our neighbor Micah 6:6-8 6 With what shall I come before the Lord and bow down before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? 7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of oil? My comment was about your contempt for the study of His Word. You don't think it's important and this responding post only offers more excuses for not digging into what He says. My point is that God gave us His Word and few read it. They glance over a few books in the last 1/3 and ignore the rest. The Torah is a tree of life to those who seek the wisdom it contains. One can be 100% saved and still 100% ignorant of the instruction He gave us...but that is a personal choice since it is available in almost every language nowadays. Should i offer burnt offering to God now.....that i've learned why it's done? is this something i should be taught now? I've shot ptarmigan, i've shot a rabbit, i've caught fish. but never offered them to God at all. I've skined a caribou and eaten it. I've never offered any part to them to god. i've given thanks for a catch but never offered to him a burnt offering before. ever. So, the offering would be the best of the flock, cattle, and herd right? not just any offering would do?

Well, I'm no expert when it comes to the Levitical laws, but a couple things I do know from reading is that there were many kinds of offerings. Some offerings were to be offered to the Lord and eaten. If I am correct though, burnt offerings were to be put into the flames and turned into ashes...to the point where there was NO meat left. Now, the sin offering was to be cooked and eaten by the priests. You refer to Jeremiah, Im not sure which verse you were referring to, but IF you are speaking of Jeremiah 7, where it says to combine the burnt offering and the sacrifice, I believe that was Gods way of saying that they didn't matter each way. The Jews were no longer doing the will of God therefore He proclaims their offerings where to NO avail. If you would like to know more about the law of offerings, you can refer to Leviticus 6. This gives a few different kinds of offerings...burnt, sin, and grain. I believe there is a peace offering as well. I believe whats really important to notice, is while you read so many of these laws, keep in the back of your mind how Jesus fulfilled these and how they show symbolizm is His and the apostles ministry. For example, the sin offering was to be eaten by the priests...at the last supper, Jesus proclaimed, this is my body...eat. Yeah. i was eating the meat after reading Jeremiah and i just started to wonder. is this like a burnt offering? the only offering i've known was my life giving myself for God, and money. that's all i've known as offerings. >.> that's more then just money and faith(offering both and gettign something back in return) knowing what these things said to the people who did them is the only way of knowing what they mean. Making symbolism apart from that will always be flawed speculation. It makes no difference in your ultimate salvation but is rather a discipleship issue. The burnt offering represents a life consumed by God. There are certainly deeper lessons which could be learned and symbolic things which we can speculate about, but that's what it represented to the people offering them. For a really in-depth study there is one book I highly recommend and it's Louis Goldberg's commentary on Leviticus. i don't want to study burnt offerings at all. i just wanted to know out of curiosity.

what does that mean? back in my early years, i've always just thought. yeah burnt offerings. of. that's just about all i've thought of it. just a name. just an action. but what does it mean? Today i was reading through Jeremiah. i read a verse about burnt offerings and eating it for ourselves(rebellous guys like me, or whatever, maybe the bible said something else. i'm not typing this in the spirit and i didn't read the bible in spirit. i prayed a short prayer before i started to read). And right now. i'm eating cooked caribou meat with vegetables. is that what a burnt offering means? cook something(and cook it very well) and then offer it to God? i've always thought of burnt offerings like it was over cooked popcorn burnt. i know this is random. i just wanted to know.
