Jesus prayed in public. ( John 12:28 ; John 11:41, 42 ).
Jesus also prayed in front of His disciples. ( John 17 )
So please don't use that Scripture to object to brothers and sisters praying together on this Board.
As for the former:
Isaiah 31:1 - Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, And rely on horses, Who trust in chariots because they are many, And in horsemen because they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, Nor seek the Lord!
This isn't about anyone being more spiritual than another. It's about living our lives in surrender to the Lord.
Guns won't save us from the day of wrath. If we can't pray together in the face of the tragedy of others, what will we do when we are stuck in tragedy together? Does it please the Lord for us to fight each other over our opinions? Shouldn't we be seeking the Lord together?
Amen! We are called to be in the world but not of the world.. We truly need to view the world through the lens of Scripture. This event has become the worst mass killing by a gunman in U.S. history..these families and the students, so young and out on their own for the first time, need our prayers and support.
Others may have a different opinion, but when faced with events like these, my first action is to pray. Satan is out to destroy as many people as he can. How many of those killed yesterday made it to heaven? How many parents, brothers and sisters are at home today grieving the loss of a loved one? What can we do? Call on the Lord. He is the Almighty..we are His children.
Phl 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
