Thank you everyone!
It helps to read you clarity of thought when I get all worked up.

I went without power for about a day and a half and the water got shut off twice for a few hours overnight, but everything is OK. Sunshine today

This is one of those things I pray for that I feel kind of guilty about. I don't want to seem like an ingrate because I already have many blessings.
I'm hoping to have a nice house to bring a wife home to, and the income to support a family.

Thank you everyone! I'm working now, but I'm going to go back later and re-read everything, but I feel much better and hopeful now.

I don't like feeling guilty about asking God for financial blessings. The whole 'getting things from God' abundance preachers seem kind of ungrateful for the blessings we already have, especially sine God isn't beholden to us for anything.
How do you guys pray for financial blessings without seeming like an ingrate? I'm afraid praying for things like that is missing the point of Faith in the first place.
Specifically, I have a tall order. I want to be able to pay cash for a house. (LOL, who doesn't?)
I have issues with banks and how Machiavellian they are and they force you to pay extra to have your property taxes and PMI included in your monthly payment, that prices a lot of people out. 30 year mortgages are also seriously messed up. I knew a couple who had to get a 40 year mortgage to where their payment was only interest. I'm too old for a mortgage that long, anyway (48.) The arrogant mortgage bankers act like they are doing you a favor and that it is some sort of privilege to borrow from them.
I don't really make much, but I may have a job that pays better soon and it would be nice to finally have a house on some land.

Thanks everyone. I like to help the homeless and needy people, but sometimes I feel like I'm being scammed by them. Like they are just pretending to be worse off than they are to trick gullible Christians into supporting them.
I don't make much money to begin with, so sometimes I also wish I was wealthy so I could help out more.
It definitely causes conflict within me.

I know we are supposed to feed and clothe the Homeless, etc, but to what extent? Are we really supposed to buy them a house, too? What if we are stewards of a lot of God's money?

Thanks everyone! She is seeing a counselor and I think her Mother is going tot alk to the principal. She only has a couple, of more weeks at that school at all though.

She is a beautiful blue eyed blonde who is cutting herself. First her arms, then her breasts. Her parents can be kind of degenerate sometimes and yell too much, but I think she also has boys perving on her at school.
I sent a Prayer request to CBN and got this prayer back I hope everyone will say for her. thank you from the botom of my heart!
Our hearts are hurting hearing this, beloved. Know that we are one with you in prayer for Lila's healing and restoration. God is our Refuge and Strength, our very present help in time of trouble (Psalm 46:1). Let's join hands together and pray for Him to move in her life:Father God, You see Lila hurting and know what she is going through. We entrust her to You and ask for Your hand to be upon her, that she would come to know You through Your Son the Lord Jesus Christ, and find grace in her time of need, be delivered from thoughts of suicide and anything not aligned to Your good, pleasing and perfect will for her life, and be restored in excellent health of heart, mind, body and spirit. Comfort her and strengthen her by Your Holy Spirit, and uproot the lies sown by the evil one in her emotions and thoughts. Break off the sting of unkind words and actions that were spoken and done to her, and bring Lila to a place of total healing. Surround her with loving people from their local church community who will just stay with her, listening to her, being Your hands and feet to her, showing grace and love for her, not judging her. Bless her family with peace, comfort, strength and hope as they choose to pour out their hearts to You and believe for You to move in Lila's situation. Thank You for You are our Healer, Deliverer and Restorer. Nothing is too hard for You. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, amen.- 4

Thanks guys! that scripture sure made sense
I saw the comment on a YouTube video about men refusing to marry these days and i wondered about it.
-
I read something tho that effect recently and am wondering if it is Biblical?
With the rise of radical feminism and men going their way and casual homosexuality, etc, it does seem to be coming to pass that women and men would rather not deal with each other at all.
-
Thanks guys! I have messed up a few time, but I always come back to God and repent. I'm glad it counts.
I also have a friend who is really messed up, but she is at least trying. I'd like to think she makes it to heaven with me.

I meant to post this in General Discussion, oops

1 Corinthians 6:9
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
What if someone is kind of a degenerate at first like is described in that verse, but then sincerely repents and changes their ways? Then can they get into Heaven?

well. I got confused about what this thread was about. i thought we were posting positive, uplifting verses...

I love threads like this!????
1 Peter 5:6-7 New International Version (NIV)
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 The Message
1 Peter 5:6-7 King James Version (KJV)
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

'your desires shall be contrary to your husband' is yet a third translation, but I like your answer. it makes sense.
-
I've read conflicting translations of what it says, that makes a big difference. It's either:
And you will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you.
or
Your desire will be for your husband,
and he will rule over you -
OK. Good. I didn't win. But yeah, I want to do good things for the poor and homeless and my family and close friends, etc.
Now it's up to 1.6 BILLION!!! Talk me down, brothers and Sisters, talk me down.

God doesn't approve of gambling, so I already asked forgiveness, but a billion freaking dollars! Anyone else buy any?

Hebrews 13:2 King James Version (KJV)
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
I'm trying to put this in proper context to figure out if Angels disguise themselves as homeless people, or just normal people?
It looks like we are just supposed to be hospitable to everyone no matter what, but sometimes beggars and panhandlers are deceitful about it all, so I ignore them and then feel bad about it.
-
Thanks everyone! Those answers make sense. I thought the two translations sort of contradicted one another.

John 6:29 is translated two different ways:
Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."
Jesus told them, "This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent."
So which is it? Is us believing in Jesus God's work to do, or is it the only work he wants from us?

From the descriptions of Heaven, the city of new Jerusalem will be like the size of Texas or something. So where should we all plan to meet up?
Is it OK to pray for a better quality of life?

Thank you everyone. I completely forgot that I asked this before:
LOL. God answers our prayers according to His will.
