  1. Thank you everyone. I completely forgot that I asked this before: LOL. God answers our prayers according to His will.
  2. Thank you everyone! It helps to read you clarity of thought when I get all worked up.
  3. I went without power for about a day and a half and the water got shut off twice for a few hours overnight, but everything is OK. Sunshine today
  4. This is one of those things I pray for that I feel kind of guilty about. I don't want to seem like an ingrate because I already have many blessings. I'm hoping to have a nice house to bring a wife home to, and the income to support a family.
  5. Thank you everyone! I'm working now, but I'm going to go back later and re-read everything, but I feel much better and hopeful now.
  6. I don't like feeling guilty about asking God for financial blessings. The whole 'getting things from God' abundance preachers seem kind of ungrateful for the blessings we already have, especially sine God isn't beholden to us for anything. How do you guys pray for financial blessings without seeming like an ingrate? I'm afraid praying for things like that is missing the point of Faith in the first place. Specifically, I have a tall order. I want to be able to pay cash for a house. (LOL, who doesn't?) I have issues with banks and how Machiavellian they are and they force you to pay extra to have your property taxes and PMI included in your monthly payment, that prices a lot of people out. 30 year mortgages are also seriously messed up. I knew a couple who had to get a 40 year mortgage to where their payment was only interest. I'm too old for a mortgage that long, anyway (48.) The arrogant mortgage bankers act like they are doing you a favor and that it is some sort of privilege to borrow from them. I don't really make much, but I may have a job that pays better soon and it would be nice to finally have a house on some land.
  7. Thanks everyone. I like to help the homeless and needy people, but sometimes I feel like I'm being scammed by them. Like they are just pretending to be worse off than they are to trick gullible Christians into supporting them. I don't make much money to begin with, so sometimes I also wish I was wealthy so I could help out more. It definitely causes conflict within me.
  8. I know we are supposed to feed and clothe the Homeless, etc, but to what extent? Are we really supposed to buy them a house, too? What if we are stewards of a lot of God's money?
  9. Thanks guys! that scripture sure made sense I saw the comment on a YouTube video about men refusing to marry these days and i wondered about it.
  10. I read something tho that effect recently and am wondering if it is Biblical? With the rise of radical feminism and men going their way and casual homosexuality, etc, it does seem to be coming to pass that women and men would rather not deal with each other at all.
  11. Thanks guys! I have messed up a few time, but I always come back to God and repent. I'm glad it counts. I also have a friend who is really messed up, but she is at least trying. I'd like to think she makes it to heaven with me.
  12. I meant to post this in General Discussion, oops
  13. 1 Corinthians 6:9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, What if someone is kind of a degenerate at first like is described in that verse, but then sincerely repents and changes their ways? Then can they get into Heaven?
  14. well. I got confused about what this thread was about. i thought we were posting positive, uplifting verses...
  15. I love threads like this!???? 1 Peter 5:6-7 New International Version (NIV) 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 The Message 1 Peter 5:6-7 King James Version (KJV) 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
