  1. Welcome to Worthy./*sarcasm*/ Shalom Toni, It amazes me that the Biblical foundation is being overlooked and stuffed away in preference for a celebrity. This is condemned in the Scriptures.
  2. Shalom Nebula, So, basically, you are calling me a liar and judging my heart, disregarding what I've told you about the wording and my heart motives. You have decided you know my heart motives better than I do or G-d does. Pretty interesting to say the least. I think you were better off when you said the L-rd will judge, because He is the ONLY one qualified. It's not your place to "get past" anything concerning my motives, for that is sin. Period. YOu, who are so sensitive about pointing fingers are doing what you decry in calling me a liar and attacking my motives instead of just responding to the thread. I hope you see this clearly - YOU are doing what you condemn. And this is sin. Bottom line: If you don't like the way I word things, I invite you to simply skip my posts. However, when you comment on my heart motives and judge them and attack what you do not know, YOU are in sin. You should be taking this to the L-rd in prayer Nebula. That is Biblical. And now, we must leave it in the hands of the L-rd, Who ALONE is the judge.
  3. http://www.biblicalholidays.com/Sabbath/bible_times.htm Sabbath in Bible Times The Encyclopedia of Judaism explains; The Bible does not mention that the Patriarchs observed the Sabbath (although rabbinical sources do). During their wanderings in the Wilderness of Zin and with the introduction of manna, the Israelites were first commanded to observe the Sabbath; they were told that five days of the week they were to collect a single portion of manna, but on the sixth they should collect a double portion, for
  4. Shalom Smalcald, Ummm Smalcald. You asked this: My answer is Hebrews 4. I am the one who said it and Hebrews 4 is why I said it. You are hung-up on a "rules based" Sabbath. You are the one saying that, I am not. I am saying follow the SCRIPTURES, not rules. Please read what I am saying. You need to read the Scriptures in context, not pick them out to support your view. Back up and read the entire passage, it is talking about the people going OUT to gather the manna on the 7th day. 27On the seventh day some of the people went out to gather, but they found none. 28And the LORD said to Moses,(AF) "How long will you refuse to keep my commandments and my laws? 29See! The LORD has given you the Sabbath; therefore on the sixth day he gives you bread for two days. Remain each of you in his place; let no one go out of his place on the seventh day." 30So the people rested on the seventh day. It is not a prohibition on travel, it is a disregard for G-d's provision that He gave specifically in the wilderness. The instructions given to the children of Israel in Exodus were not everlasting restrictions, they were for the time in the desert. G-d only gave manna in the desert. G-d's ways are what I follow. You misunderstand the Sabbath commands. Smalcald, if YOU wish to follow men, that is your choice. I will follow G-d. I don't take my marching orders from Orthodox Jews, but if you wish to, you are certainly welcome. Look here: Sabbath instituted: Genesis 2: 1Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and(A) all the host of them. 2And(B) on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. 3So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation. Following G-D's ways, I am doing it correctly, you are incorrect that we must follow man's rules to follow the Sabbath.
  5. Shalom, http://www.biblicalholidays.com/Sabbath/me..._in_sabbath.htm Messianic Significance of Sabbath * The Sabbath reminds us that God created the world. * The Sabbath reminds us that God delivered Israel from bondage in Egypt. * The Sabbath reminds us that Christ delivered us from the penalty of sin at Calvary. * The Sabbath reminds us that God will make us holy, just as He made the Sabbath holy. * The Sabbath reminds us that God will finish His work in our lives, just as He finished His work of creation and redemption. * The Sabbath reminds us that God is our Lord and God. * The Sabbath reminds us that we have rest in Christ. The rest that God intended for us to receive on Sabbath is not just a physical rest from our work or a mental and emotional rest from the stress of life. When Jesus said, Come unto me . . .I will give you rest (Matt. 11:28), He also said, ye will find rest unto your souls (Matt. 11:29). Entering that rest requires that we stop trying to save ourselves and rest in the finished work of Jesus. The image of the joyless, somber restricting Sunday stems from the 16th century. Jesus defines the Sabbath in Matthew 12:8, For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath day [(!)] The Sabbath, as with the rest of the Bible finds fulfillment in Christ. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth (Rom. 10:4). Everything about the Sabbath teaches us something about the Messiah (Lancaster 1996).
  6. Shalom Smalcald, Hebrews 4 1Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. 2For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. 3For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, "As I swore in my wrath,'They shall not enter my rest,'" although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: "And God rested on the seventh day from all his works." 5And again in this passage he said, "They shall not enter my rest." 6Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, 7again he appoints a certain day, "Today," saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, "Today, if you hear his voice,do not harden your hearts." 8For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. 9So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10for whoever has entered God
  7. Shalom Smalcald, No, I disagree. Man's way is not "correct", only G-d's way is. It is wrong to add to Scripture and add burdens of men. G-d's way is right, all the time.
  8. Shalom, Consider these words from the Scriptures. I believe they mean exactly what they say and they relate specifically to this topic: James 1: 26If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person
  9. Shalom Fraught, If you weren't committing ongoing sin, you would have nothing to worry about anyone finding out anything about you! No one would have anything on you! Actually, his REPENTANCE would be a light for us all. That would be Biblical. Mark 4: 22 For nothing is hidden except to be made manifest; nor is anything secret except to come to light. 23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear." 1 John 3: 5You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 6No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. 7Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous.
  10. Shalom LadyC, I believe that I have said that we do not know IF he is a Christian. And that is indisputable. You don't know for sure and neither do I. We are not G-d. And only G-d knows what or who Duane is and if his heart is belongs to Jesus. And bringing up past threads has no bearing on this one, again, we need to stick to the FACTS. Exactly. This is the BIBLICAL stand. But you see, the Biblical stand is getting more flack than the man's sin and hope for his subsequent repentance and that is wrong.
  11. Shalom Smalcald, Nowhere in the Scriptures does it say that we should not drive anyplace or do anything else on the Sabbath. Those are the Rabbinical rules, not the Scriptural commands. We should not do our "common" (everyday) work. But rather set aside the Sabbath to rest in Jesus.
  12. Shalom Kat, The Sabbath is a day of REST. We celebrate the Sabbath from Friday night to Saturday night (a biblical day) and then we go to church on Sunday to meet with the saints and to grow in G-d's Word and to serve others. Also, the NT shows that the early church met on Sundays and every other day. So, going to church on Sundays (or any other day) is perfectly acceptable, but in no way replaces or negates the Biblical Sabbath, which is the 7th day.
  13. Shalom LadyC, That's twisting things dear. No place was that ever said that he isn't really a Christian. Stick to the facts please. BTW, I'm not the one who wrote the article, or released the story. Direct your anger at the person who wanted the world to know what this man was REALLY like behind closed doors. I find it AMAZING that y'all are more concerned about hiding sin than letting G-d expose it! Way too much political correctness here.
  14. Shalom, I think it's important because this man is a professing Christian, a teacher and a self-proclaimed "role model" for children and he lives like the devil. We should care more about the truth of the Scriptures than being politically correct. It is important because this man is a public figure and people put him up on a pedestal because he professes to be a Christian. As for your other "stuff", I fail to see any place where anyone a) withheld love b) said they deserve anything bad. Be sad if you want, but I am more sad for the testimony of Jesus that has been dragged through the mud by the loose-living, foul-mouthed Dog and I have prayed that G-d would show him the truth of how he is not living according to the Scriptures. I pray now that this is happening and that Dog's heart is softened and he repents. That is cause for saying "YAY!"
  15. I did read what you responded, and it still does not make sense to me. To me, "Yay!!!" only means one thing. If you want to accuse me of judging your motives, fine. From my perspective, I am simply interpreting what was written. "Yay!!!" is an expression of excitement, indicating rejoicing. I apologize, but I fail to see how, "Yay!!!" is not rejoicing. Shalom Nebula, Then yes, you are wrongly judging a Christian's motives and that is SIN. Since you are not G-d, you have no right to judge my heart motives. Your "apology" is false since you refuse to rescind your judgment. I have explained what "Yay" means, but you refuse to accept the truth. That again, it sin for it judges what you do not know. Think what you want. You are not to judge my heart motives, period, since you cannot possibly know them. The Bible states clearly that ALL things hidden will be exposed. That is what happened. Like it or not, it is G-d at work. This is an answer to my prayer for Dog Chapman. You and I have nothing else to say to one another. You cry for mercy for Dog, but you dish out judgment! That is hypocritical. Take a look at your own sin before you accuse others.
  16. The title of this thread says, "Yay!!!" If that is not rejoicing, what is it? Shalom Nebula, NOW you ask??? A little late. And then you judge in the same post??? Please take the time to read and not judge. I've answered this twice.
  17. No, I am not judging your motives. However, like Dave, I was saddened to hear the news, not glad. The "Yay" in the title sunk my heart. Shalom, Actually accusing someone of rejoicing IS wrongly judging heart motives. The term "YAY" is for the work of G-d. It is helpful to ask rather than to judge.
  18. Isn't recording someone's words without their permission illegal? Shalom Nebula, Yes, according to Hawaiian law, it IS illegal to record and release this conversation. And Dog can sue whoever recorded it. However, he was talking with his son at the time.
  19. Shalom Nebula, Who is rejoicing? That is a wrong judgment of someone's motives. Hopefully, you will be humbled and repent. Did you not read my post where I answered this?
  20. James 3 1 Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. 2For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. 3If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. 4Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. 5So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. 6 How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! 6And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. 7For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, 8but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. 10From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers,[c] these things ought not to be so. 11Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water? 12Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.
  21. Shalom Dave, No, you misunderstand and wrongly judge the motives here. Please don't be so quick to assign evil motives. How do you know I am not praying for him? In fact, I HAVE been praying for Dog and his family and I am thankful for this turn of events because I believe G-d is working in his life. I am not rejoicing in his fall, but rejoicing that the sin is being exposed from someone who calls himself a brother in the faith. The Bible says to expose those who continually walk in sin. The REASON is not to gloat but to cause repentance and for people to not put him up on pedestal because he "says" he is a Christian. We are to bring the secret sins out into the open. Why? To embarrass someone? No, to cause repentance. John 3 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God." Mark 4: 21 And he said to them, "Is a lamp brought in to be put under a basket, or under a bed, and not on a stand? 22 For nothing is hidden except to be made manifest; nor is anything secret except to come to light. 23If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear." You see, we NEED to be walking in private what we would not be ashamed of in public. This most definitely is a work of the Holy Spirit, first to expose the ongoing sin, and secondly, hopefully to soften the man's heart and bring him to repentance. We are accountable Dave. Especially those who are "teachers" (and those who profess Jesus and are "role models") The Bible says they will be judged more harshly. We must be concerned for those people who follow Dog's example and live in sin while professing to be a Christian. NOW, he is exposed and people will see there is more to being a Christian than just saying one is and having prayer on TV. As for myself, YES, if I am a hypocrite and living in ongoing sin and holding myself up as a teacher and role model, I had would WANT to be exposed! For nothing is hidden from Jesus! I would want to be pushed into repenting in public if I have sinned in public, but having my sins exposed.
  22. Shalom, A&E has suspended "Dog, The Bounty Hunter" show because of a taped racial rampage. FINALLY! This man claims to be a Christian and swears with the "F" and "N" word in every other word. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,307140,00.html TV Bounty Hunter 'Dog' Chapman in Hot Water for N-Word Tirade Thursday, November 01, 2007 Duane 'Dog' Chapman HONOLULU
  23. Shalom Poor, I pray for you to see the truth of G-d and not this twisted false doctrine you've been preaching. I know your heart is zealous, but you've missed G-d's truth. Please, seek Him and not this false doctrine. His ways are easy and His love and forgiveness abound to those who truly seek Him (G-d; Father, Son and Holy Spirit). Poor, He loves you and we do too. And I pray for you to see the truth and be set free from the bondage you are in. May you know the truth from Scriptures!
  24. Shalom Poor, The Scriptures are clear. Your assertion that we are not to commit to the L-rd is false, as the Scriptures declare otherwise. We ARE to commit, He commands it. And we are to trust HIM to work it out in us. He desires our commitment, our willing heart to serve Him, our belief and our willingness to walk out that belief. For faith without works is dead. We are to "work out our salvation." We are to do all we can do, as He leads us. We are to commit ourselves, our ways and trust Him to work it out in us. THAT Poor, is sound doctrine. What you are preaching is not. Faith without works is dead. Discern the Word through the Holy Spirit and read these words from the KJV: James 2 14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
