    Daniel 8

Shalom Becca, I would pray and ask your hubby to carefully consider the teachings of the SDA church. They are considered a cult. I have wonderful friends that are SDAs, but we do not agree on certain interpretations of Scripture. It is essential that you and your hubby go to a Bible-believing church. Here is some info on the SDA church and why they are not considered to be credible Scripturally: http://www.carm.org/sda/teachings.htm hat does Seventh Day Adventism Teach? Affirmations 1. The Bible is inspired and the word of God. 2. Trinitarian: The Father, Son, Holy Spirit are all one God in three persons. 3. Jesus is God and has always existed with the Father. 4. The Holy Spirit is a person. 5. Jesus' sacrifice was vicarious. 6. Salvation is by grace, not works. 7. Jesus rose from the dead physically in his glorified body. 8. Jesus ascended bodily into heaven. 9. Baptism is by immersion 10. The literal, visible return of Jesus. 11. Jesus will return to set up a millennial kingdom. They are Premillennial. 12. Literal six day creation, not long periods. Denials 1. Denies the doctrine of predestination 2. Denies baptism by sprinkling 3. Denies infant baptism. 4. Denies the immortality of the soul. 5. Denies the eternality of hell fire. 6. Denies any use of alcohol (as a drink) or tobacco. Aberrant 1. Our sins will ultimately be placed on Satan - The Great Controversy, p. 422, 485. 2. Jesus is Michael the Archangel. 3. Worship must be done on Saturday (the Sabbath). 4. On October 22, 1844 Jesus entered the second and last phase of his atoning work. 5. Investigative Judgment - the fate of all people will be decided based upon this event in the future. 6. The dead do not exist anymore -- soul sleep. 7. The wicked are annihilated. 8. Ellen G. White, the "founder" of Seventh Day Adventism, was a messenger from God gifted with the spirit of prophecy. 9. There is a sanctuary in heaven where Jesus carries out his mediatorial work.
  2. Shalom Eric, Just to add to your last post, in 2004, I found myself one day in critical condition with Acute Promyloecytic Leukemia. It came on suddenly and I was not given much hope to live. We had people praying all over the world (for I run an international ladies email loop) for G-d's will, which is the only thing I wanted people to pray for, because I ONLY want His will. And having a son die, I know it is not always G-d's will to heal. So, needless to say, it was a difficult time, but praise the L-rd, He used the doctor's, and He used medicines and after 18 months of chemo and very painful treatments, I am now in remission!! And you know who gets the glory? Not the doctors, not the medicines, because they were only being used by G-d for His will in healing me. But JESUS gets all the glory for healing me by whatever means HE chose. And not one of these things were caused by demons. So, no demon-chasing, exorcists needed, thank you, just Jesus.
  3. Shalom Eric! Preach it Brother!! Demon-chasers, exorcists, whatever. We need JESUS and to be led by HIS SPIRIT. Sometimes He uses doctors and medicines, sometimes He heals miraculously. He doesn't need any exorcists to do His work. I praise G-d for healing your wife!! What a wonderful report! All the glory goes to Jesus who used the medical team and medicines.
  4. You know at one time I really thought the medical community DID know what was going on. The tampering and adjusting of the chemicals in the mind to MAKE someone feel better about themselves without addressing the emotional issue is WAY out of line.. WHy don't you read the first post that had the article about what these MIND altering drugs are doing... How about learn what these "exorcists" "deliverance ministers are doing... how about check their fruit before you send people out for a life of a label of mental illness. Jesus can heal depression, chemical imbalance, and anxiety, and a broken heart. Blessings, Karen Shalom, Jesus CAN heal anything and anyone that HE CHOOSES. That doesn't mean all illness, depression, chemical imbalance, anxiety, broken heart comes from demons as this thread espouses. There is NO need for "exorcists" either. Jesus can do it all on His own with no help from demon-chasers. Reminds me of "Ghost-Busters."
  5. Shalom Eric, Amen! Please jump in! We need some more refutation of the weirdness being preached in here!
  6. Shalom Patricia, You wrote: And you are saying that the Scriptures you posted justify the gobbledy New-Agey "candle-lighting" stuff quoted!? Not hardly. JESUS is the light, not some candles in a dark room. Sounds more like a seance. What you posted is not Scriptural. This has nothing to do with demonic bondage dear. Thanks anyway.
  7. Hello Eliyahuw Could you show me the scripture that says that the old covenant has been done away with? Also the scripture that says we are to rest in Jesus? Thanks. Shalom DY, Hebrews 9 11But when Christ appeared as a high priest(U) of the good things that have come,[e] then through(V) the greater and more perfect tent ((W) not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) 12he(X) entered(Y) once for all into the holy places, not by means of(Z) the blood of goats and calves but(AA) by means of his own blood,(AB) thus securing an eternal redemption. 13For if(AC) the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with(AD) the ashes of a heifer, sanctify[f] for the purification of the flesh, 14how much more will(AE) the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit(AF) offered himself without blemish to God,(AG) purify our[g] conscience(AH) from dead works(AI) to serve the living God. 15Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. 16For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established. 17For(AN) a will takes effect only at death, since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive. 18Therefore not even the first covenant was inaugurated(AO) without blood. 19For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took(AP) the blood of calves and goats,(AQ) with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, 20saying,(AR) "This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you." 21And in the same way he sprinkled with the blood both(AS) the tent and all the vessels used in worship. 22Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and(AT) without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. 23Thus it was necessary for(AU) the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24For Christ has entered, not into holy places(AV) made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God(AW) on our behalf. 25Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as(AX) the high priest enters(AY) the holy places every year with blood not his own, 26for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is,(AZ) he has appeared(BA) once for all(BB) at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27And just as(BC) it is appointed for man to die once, and(BD) after that comes judgment, 28so Christ, having been offered once(BE) to bear the sins of(BF) many, will appear(BG) a second time,(BH) not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly(BI) waiting for him.
  8. Shalom, That's not proof that G-d heals everyone. We live in bodies that are decaying because of the Fall. Jesus did not heal everyone, only some. G-d does not GIVE us sickness, it is a side-effect of the Fall. However, He chooses to heal some and not others. That is Scriptural.
  9. Doesn't really answer the question: Is Jesus God? Do you believe that Jesus is 100% God? I beleive that if Jesus is son of God, son of man, lamb of God and anointed by God that in that sence he can't be God, but more like a heir to the throne. Shalom, You do NOT believe Jesus is G-d? Equally G-d with the Father and Holy Spirit?
  10. Shalom, Didn't we read recently that American researchers had found a drug that would erase memories? Hmmm, I can't seem to remember! Actually, I'll go and search it because I remember it was a thread on WB and one of the responses was that it reminded them of the movie that did that very thing. Was it short term-memory or long-term like this is? Anyone remember?
  11. Ahh but that is the bottom line, the ultimate point. The old covenant is done away with. Were now under a covenant of Grace, and one day this covenant will be done away with and a new one will be made. What matters and all that matters IS Salvation! IF you look at Christ, you find that we are to rest in him, not some day of the week, and that is done everyday of the week. Shalom, Well, if you think this is pertinent to the topic, I will reply. Observing or not observing the Sabbath will not affect whether one gets into Heaven or not. That is not the point of this thread and no one (that I know of) has made the statement that it affects salvation. If they have, I may have missed it. But, MY Biblical foundation is that it is a matter of honoring G-d, not salvation. If you look in the Bible, the 7th day Sabbath still remains. Not as part of the Law, because it PRECEDES the First Covenant. But because G-d said it and He never changed it. And to everyone who keeps going down the side trail of salvation, law vs grace, covenant - that is NOT the topic of this thread. The DAY of the Sabbath is the topic.
  12. Shalom Kari, G-d bless you! If He uses you with the gift of healing, I pray for you and that you will do His will in being a vessel of His healing power to heal the sick, raise the dead, make the lame to walk, give sight to the blind and hearing to the deaf! May the L-rd use you mightily to do His work in His Name and for His glory!
  13. Shalom Kari, As I posted before, it is not the CHRISTIAN who heals, it is G-d. And faith has nothing to do with it, healing comes from G-d and for His glory. We can have all the faith we want, but G-d may not heal. Because G-d does not heal everyone. Just look in the Bible, Jesus did not heal everyone although He could have. And Benny Hinn is but a man, not G-d. I'll ask you again, if you really believe this: Then why aren't YOU out in the hospitals, funerals homes and all over the world doing just that? Instead of looking at other Christians, why aren't you healing the sick, raising the dead, making the lame walk? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm asking sincerely. You either believe it or you don't.
  14. Shalom, Au contraire! The question has been answered repeatedly and from Scriptures. It matters because G-d said it does. He put it in His Word that the 7th day is the Sabbath, a day to be set apart for Him. And He never rescinded it or changed it to another day. He says a LOT about the Sabbath. That is the simple, Biblical answer. It matters because G-d said it does. I obey HIM, not man who wants to dismiss G-d's truth from the Scriptures. Yes we are to live for Messiah and worship Him daily, that is not the point, if you read the posts. Living daily and worshiping Messiah daily and going to church any day of the week do NOT negate or conflict with the Biblical truth that G-d set down the 7th day as the Sabbath, and it remains as such. Ummm, salvation is not the question. You are arguing a point that has not been raised. Which day is the Sabbath is the topic at hand.
  15. Shalom, No, it is NOT necessary to give other people details concerning a prayer request. Sometimes, that is nothing more than people's curiosity, but it is not Scriptural. Many many times we offer "unspoken" prayer requests because G-d DOES know the person and what their exact needs are. We need not know the details, and in fact, sometimes it's best NOT to tell people, but just ask them to pray according to the Holy Spirit, which is what we are to do anyway. So, NO, we do not need to give anyone details. Only G-d.
  16. Shalom, How Messiah is glorified in our observance of the Sabbath:
  17. Shalom, This is an excellent resource for learning more about the Sabbath and how it applies to our Christian lives today. It is written by a GENTILE Christian. http://biblicalholidays.com/sabbath.htm
  18. Shalom CB, I posted a reply, but deleted it because I'm not sure I understood the questions correctly. You said: "Without listing all please include the times in a day that you feel or know you went against God's Laws or HIS Word!" You are asking how many times a day we SIN? For the way it's worded, that's what is says to me. If we go against G-d's laws or His Word, we are sinning. OR are you asking how many times a day do we live normal lives such as shopping, preparing meals etc., which are not overtly Christian? Please clarify your question for me. Thanks!
  19. Shalom!!! Hey there, WELCOME TO WORTHY!!!!!!!!!! I agree with SOME of your post, but may we talk about the 2nd part since it pertains to the Sabbath? You posted that we are to follow G-d's Law, correct. Well, what day is the Sabbath in the Scriptures? It is Saturday. And it starts on Friday night at sundown and goes until Saturday night at sundown. G-d has never changed this. So, yes, it matters what day the SABBATH is on. However, my stand is that we are to gather every day with the saints and worship as Christians. That is no way conflicts with the Sabbath (which is on Saturday) and it follows the NT examples of the Early Church. However, we are not to work 7 days, at least we shouldn't. I don't believe it is SIN to work 7 days, but I believe the L-rd wants us to take the Sabbath and not work. And on that Sabbath, we are rest and separate that day and devote ourselves to honoring Him. Of course, it is lawful to work 7 days a week, but is it good? No! G-d said we are to rest. There are spiritual AND physical reasons for that. We are to do ALL things to the glory of G-d. Is working 7 days a week doing that? No, it's not. Now THIS, I agree with 100% Shalom SP! Hey, we agree! Whoo hoooo! Actually, I have always posted this stand. It's just that you are one of the few who actually READ people's posts instead of attacking them on falsely-assumed beliefs. Kudos to you for really reading what is written and understanding what is being said (even if we don't agree.)
  20. Shalom Nana, How about staying on the topic of Sabbath please?? We are not debating the law, or me, but the topic of Sabbath. Thank you.
  21. Shalom JD, Amen, we LOVE our Sabbath observances at home! The kids and the hubby look forward to it all week and it is very special. We try to have guests over as well. Even the 7-year old knows why we observe and that is to honor Jesus and His Word. We also go to church on Sunday and that makes it awesome! Sabbath on Friday night / Saturday and then church on Sunday. Hi Vickilynn, In the way you just stated you observe the sabbath as a Christian I whould not have a problem agreeing with its ok to do.And I whould also be able to do it myself as a Christian because I have done it once in a previous Church I attended. We sported a Jewish Missionary from N.Y. City who ministered to the Jewish people in that area and he preached one night at at our Church and we celebrated the passover together as he explained it. And if a Jew asked me to celebrate the passover with him I whould in order to be a good testimony to him.But I just don't see the need to practice on a regular basis as a N.T. Christian. I have learned something today from this post, don't jump to conclusions about where you might think some one is at theologically till you know them better. Shalom Eddie, Thank you for your post and for the reminder. So many of us don't REALLY read what others are posting, we just jump in with both feet and think we know what they're saying! And I understand about you not seeing a need to practice it regularly and that's fine. If it is something that the L-rd wants you to start practicing, HE will quicken it to your heart. But, perhaps this thread is serving to help do that? You see, The Sabbath IS G-d's Word. Personally, I think all Christians should because it glorifies Jesus, honors Him, honors G-d's Word and brings us deeper understanding of the Word and our G-d. But, I do not believe it is sin not to. I just know that since it is G-d's Word and it glorifies HIM, it is a good thing, and should be desired to be practiced by those who truly love G-d and wish to honor Him and His Word. Anyway, that's between the L-rd and you, no one is to judge you whether you do or not, that is what the Scriptures say.
  22. Shalom!!! Hey there, WELCOME TO WORTHY!!!!!!!!!! I agree SOME of your post, but may we talk about the 2nd part right now since it pertains to the Sabbath? 23. Shalom Nana, How about staying on the topic of Sabbath please??
  24. I just like to point out that the man at the pool was not saved by faith because he had no idea who had cured him. John 5:12 So they asked him, "Who is this fellow who told you to pick it up and walk?" 13 The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there. Exodus 33:19 And the Lord said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. IHS JB Shalom JB, Amen, exactly!!
  25. Shalom Kari, Yes, G-d heals today. I myself am living proof, as I have been healed of Leukemia. I have had several miracles of healing in my body. But I was healed by G-d, not people. Only when and where and how He tells them. And not every person is to be healed. Jesus did NOT heal every person, although He could have. See above. See above. In HIS name, which means HIS will, not ours. We are but vessels of G-d. We are not G-d. See above. It is doing G-d's will, not our own. G-d does the healing, not us. And I pose these question to you Kari. If you believe Christians are to go into the hospitals, funeral homes etc. Why aren't YOU doing that? Instead of asking others, are YOU walking out your own questions and beliefs? If not, why not?
