  1. Never thought of this angle. I love it, Isaiah You know, it always amazes me how we can grasp bits of understanding, using human logic, about an entity that is so beyond logic. God is light..... I love it!! Join the fun Isaiah. It's a merry go round and yes, I do get dizzy at times. Yet once we know we don't know everything, as Nebula mentioned, we are free to play. Worthy is a great playground as long as we know the limits of our minds. Amen to that! in total agreement with Nebula I differ with you here. To my mind you ARE hugging God when you hug a tree. The fact that you acknowledge God's creation is a step on the road to seeing God as everything, everywhere, all the time Blessings
  2. Can somebody give me an "Amen!" on that one? Sure thing Nebula. AMEN to that And now that we know, we can enjoy the discussion, knowing we won't "hurt" God's plans This is freedom!!!! Blessings
  3. Hi Rhonda and welcome to Worthy I really like your way of putting things. I think you hit the nail on the head. What I see in your post, if you will allow me to attach my interpretation to it, is that we are to be witnesses on this earth. We are not to be judge, jury, solicitor or atorney, but only as witnesses. Witnesses to God's work within and around us. To say it as God has said it to us To pass on His word To be a voice for Yeshua Thanks Rhonda and blessings
  4. No, of course we can't figure this out by ourselves, but we can try "Trying" is what life is about It isn't THE TRUTH, it's the way to it ... and we know WHO the way is Blessings in Yeshua
  5. I very much agree with you and that is why I wrote in my original post..... I must emphesize once again that anything said here has no effect whatsoever on The Truth So that we can now relax, not be afraid of ruining God's plans, and just have fun 24.gif Hi Nebula, I do like to try new food and yours seems quite tasty Good question Blessings to you
  6. Maybe I'm not making myself clear...... and maybe you should scratch the "maybe" Everything finite has to have bounderies or it isn't finite. "Beginning" and "End" are boundries, limits. If we go by scripture, it says.... In the beginning God created the....Earth. Earth has a beginning so it is finite. God is Infinite = Eternal = everlasting = omnipresent........ So logically God and Earth are not the same........... right? Now..... If God is omnipresent it means He is everywhere (and all the time of course) If Earth and God are not the same it means there is something (Earth) that is apart from God. This in turn means that God is NOT everything.......... So God is NOT everywhere? Whatever seperates an object from God, causes the existance of two (or more) entities Two entities means God is NOT all entities....there is something else..... Now I know (somehow) that God is everything !! What I don't know is how to sort this paradox out Can anyone do that for me? Blessings in God our eternal and ONLY God
  7. From all above I understnd that it took God more than just six days to create the world. There is no argument there. It could be 6, 6000 or 6,000,000 for all I know. Yet, whatever time it took, it had to start somewhere, or the word "begining" has no meaning. In the beginning is a point in time (however far back) that before it..... there was nothing. This is what seperates a finite object from an infinite one. Earth, heaven and all of God's creation, are finite objects. Not eternal. While God Himself IS eternal. God has no beginning and no end. God always was and always will be. So my bottom line here is that Earth has a beginning. Is this the "beginning" refered to in Gen 1:1 ? You say Earth is eternal? Time is eternal? (please forgive me if I got this wrong). If God is eternal. Earth is eternal andTime is eternal. It follows that God = Time = Earth, otherwise there are (at least) three entities out there in eternity. We know God is the only thing that is forever, that is infinite so there cannot be anything else apart from God out there in eternity. So again... God = Earth = Time? Are they one and the same or are they distinct seperate entities? It says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God" (John 1) But in this case the Word had no beginning, it is eternal, it was already there at the beginning, it didn't start there..... The Word IS God..... Are the Earth and Time also God? You know, this is very interesting as I am now in a long debate with Jehova's Witness's who as you may know believe that God the father is the only true God while His son Yeshua is very high, 2nd only to God but is NOT God Himself. I totally disagree with that view but the above discussion could point to directions such as JW see it. I need to be very clear that God the Father, Yeshua the Son and the Holy spirit are all One. One God appearing as three seperate personalities. The whole Trinity revolves around this issue. Blessinsg in Yeshua
  8. I don't know...... We'll have to define Time in order to "blame" it for having a beginning Let's assume for the discussion that Time has a beginning. It would mean that time is a limited entity. God is omnipresent and limitless. Is Time the same as God? Not if it's limited. But if not then it is something else. But if so there is now God and there is Time. Two separate entities! So God is everything....except Time? Or is Time, one with God? If it is, then Time is limitless (just as God is) and HAS NO BEGINNING Boggles the mind, doesn't it? Blessings
  9. I believe this is talking about the beginning of time as WE know it in it's finite-ness. Good question! You know, maybe you are right and the key to this is the emphasis on WE.... What we know is finite and limited. Even time is limitless but we cannot comprehend that as humans. To us it is limited and has a beginning and end. Maybe it is so to keep us from loosing our minds....... This is a good direction to check Thanks
  10. His Word. In the beginning was.............The Word. Nothing was made without It/Him. All of life is contained within God's Word. Everything that takes place is within God's Word. John 1:3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. The Word is Eternal/Everlasting. The Word Endures Forever. 1 Peter 1:24 For, "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, 25 but the word of the Lord stands forever." 1 Peter 1:23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. In His Love, Suzanne Thanks Suzanne, but I still have this same issue...... It cannot be the beginning of the Word, as to your own words.... The Word is Eternal/Everlasting. The Word Endures Forever. If the Word is eternal and everlasting, it cannot have a beginning or end. A beginning is, by definition a part of something finite. God, the Word, is Infinite so it cannot be the beginning of the Word..... I do believe God is infinite and everlasting, as you wrote So my question... God created the heaven and the earth in the beginning of ...what?....still stands You also mentioned (John 1:3) Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. Which I have no problem with except that it raises the question of....who am I? Am I part of God? because if I'm not, then I am something apart from God which means God is not everything........ In Yeshua
  11. While going over the Old Testament I came across the first verse (yet again) and was stopped dead in my tracks by a question..... Gen 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. In the beginning of what? . . . .. . .. .. ... . .. . . . Let me dissect this:- God was, is and always will be. In the beginning God created ........... In the beginning of what? The beginning of His creation? ok......... God created something finite, something with a beginning. Now there is something in the universe that is finite Is this creation, God Himself? No, God is the Creator. So there are two "things" in the universe now: God, the Creator, who is infinite and timeless and the creation, that is finite. If there are two things then God is "only" one of the two. If there are two things, it means God is not everything...or , not Omnipresent. We know that is not so. We know that God is omnipresent which brings us to the logical fact that God, the Creator, AND His creation, are one and the same.... God created Man. Are Man and God one and the same? If God and Man are one and the same, it means "I" am just an illusion. I don't really exist as a separate entity. The difference between a believer in God and an atheist is the first believes God exists while the 2nd believes Man exists.... Being a believer, my question would be: "Am I? and if so, WHO am I?" (an amusing answer I got was "Who is asking?") I must emphesize once again that anything said here has no effect whatsoever on The Truth So that we can now relax, not be afraid of ruining God's plans, and just have fun Anyone? Blessings in Yeshua
  12. You know, I really admire your looking into it all. I have some good friends who do not care if there is any "god thing" as you put it. Search and you will find. Eventually you will come to the truth. There is only one truth, by definition and sooner or later people get to it. Took me 52 years to see that God is not there because I created Him (my long term theory) but that He is there whether I say so or not. Without going into faith details, you have to admit this search for truth is a universal thing, whether you are born in a hugh city, on a small farm or even on a remote deserted island. "somehow" people manage to get to a truth which works for them. I maintain that truth is in the right direction and given enough time we will all get to THE Truth. You are right to search and question any faith that comes before you. The God I believe in, wants us to do that. He did give us free choice. I certainly won't and can't deny you that gift. BTW, religion, the way I understand it, is something that gets in the way of the truth. It is all too often, an attempt to fix God into a box. That will never work. Blessings
  13. There is something positive in all this ... believe it or not..... I've been living here in Israel all my life and am still here to talk about it... Who can possibly achieve this?! I think it is obvious who the Glory should go to, no? How can one NOT trust in the Lord ?! Haleluyah, L'Yeshua
  14. Who is asking? Are you open minded enough to realize you may not even exist? Do you agree that God either exists or not, regardless of what we have to say about it? And if so, will this discussion make any kind of dent in the truth (whatever it may be)? Blessings
  15. I'm glad you asked this question, a question that keeps coming up for me every so often. After many debates (with myself mainly) I am at the place that says it isn't realy defending the faith. The truth doesn't need defending. All our arguments, thoughts, deeds, actions and theories will not make the slightest dent in the TRUTH ! The truth is the truth whether we know it or not. So what about the defending of the faith? My feeling is we need the discussion as part of our fellowship with each other. I mean, one of the most common ways of communication is by discussion, verbaly or in writing. How else can we fullfill God's two main requests: To love Him with all our being and to love our neighbor as ourselves? Without communication we wouldn't even know our neighbor exists! As for the topic of discussion. It is one that directs us to God's path, rather than discussion the weather (with all due respect to the weather of course) God bless
  16. about 45 minutes ago (17:00 israel time) 2-3 rockets landed just north of Kiryat Shmone. The news has it there are no casualties although a factory was hit and a car parked next to it. Residents in the town are called to be ready to get into the shelters. It seems like a small palestinian group who did the shooting and not Hisbollah. Everyone is on the alert as it isn't clear what exactly happened. You can probably hear the rest of it on the news.
  17. Yes, thanks for posting this, Shiloh. Believe it or not but even after living here for so many years, I still need reminders of what is REALY going on. It is all too easy to slip into a "what's the use?" mentality. My feeling is that God is doing a wonderful job here and we are getting in his way all too often.... Maybe with a change of leadership, someone who is God inspired, will rise up and do the right thing... whatever that might be. The wake up call of last year's war in the north, could be a trigger for us to put our faith in the right place. blessings
  18. Sounds like the west (at least) is in shock over the Gaza takeover. I don't know why. It was written all over the wall with just the timestamp missing. To my eyes, this is not the highlight of Hamas's activity in the past years. It is the begining of their downfall. Why? Violence has been a main theme throughout history. The Palestinians, may seem overjoyed at Fatah's fall. We need to remember how Fatach started out, almost the same as Hamas. They grew and got more powerfull and power went to their heads and was, in the end, their downfall. This will happen to Hamas. This will happen to Hisbollah. This will happen to any group that grows through violence. Israel's big downfall was the 6-day-war. It took 6 days to physically beat Egypt, Syria and Jorden but after 40 years we are still at war with the Palestinians. This is just my two cents and you can take it as such. I personaly, don't think I could live here if I didn't know that God can see it all and knows exactly what is going on. God has a plan and I trust in His promise to me through Yeshua. Getting angry at the enemy, hating them and dispizing them is not part of God's way to deal with the situation. I don't know what we are supposed to do in the political realm. I just know that if I don't trust in God's plan, there isn't much to hope for. I am of the belief that we should pray for the palestinians as people while condemning and defending ourselves against their terrorist acts. God bless
  19. Assuming God knows what is going on, and is in control, and that we "in God we trust" as it says on them green bills....... I'm wondering what Yeshua would do under the circumstances if He was here in human form......
  20. I believe you are comparing the wrong parable. IMAGE/LIKENESS .....Is not Jesus from God? Does Jesus appear to look like a man? This is how I use the comparative! Be Blessed Cajunboy As I was refering to verses in Genesis, I used the Hebrew. And yes, Scripture is kind of vague. 1 Timothy 3:16. "And by common confession, great is the mystery of godliness: God who was revealed in the flesh, was vindicated in the Spirit, Beheld by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, Taken up in glory." So it's is no wonder there is so much mystery and debate over scripture. Our understanding cannot fathom the reality of God the Father, the Son or the Spirit. We are too weak in mind for this: Isa 55:9 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts" Blessings
  21. I would say that asking questions is essential for any kind of understanding. I'm not sure about the answer I gave myself as eventualy it will have to be inline with God's word to have any real value. People not liking questions is very human when there is any threat to one's belief. Yet I find this forum very accepting and tolerant. Nothing wrong with debate. That's a way of sharpening views. Thank you for your kind encouragement Blessings
  22. These are my grand kids, with 2 more on the way They are the notes in my life-symphony Oops! I think I've been blessed
  23. difficulty??!! now this IS a contradiction if there ever was one Knowing when you are right or wrong entails using the mind. We cannot know God with our mind. Our relationship with God is by Faith. Contradiction:- How can we possibly know something by Faith ? (it's a rethorical question of course I know there is a special way of "knowing" God, but why ruin a good contradiction? ) Peace in Him
  24. God is unconditional love, and He created us to be unconditional love too! Yes, this is where I got to since the start of this thread now, "All" we have to do is, have faith in Him Halleluyah!! Praise God !!
  25. Sorry, hupo, if I got the wrong end of the stick here. I only just got back from working away, and haven't had time to read the whole of the replies, or get the gist of your meaning. I will try to get back to it later, after having checked other things on my computer while I have been away ...then I will hopefully be able to throw in my 2 'euros'.......for whatever it's worth No, Stephan, you didn't get the wrong end. I did start off by saying there is a contradiction. I just don't like staying stuck with my own view just because it's my own view. Things have changed for me since the begining of this thread. and....speaking of 'euroes'... your two are as good as anyone elses
