  1. Yes, terrorists were really nice to us till now
  2. Strange statement.... One day? That's all you want? Who, by you, is Israel. I thought you didn't recognize us? and, by the way, the word "again" doesn't fit ... check your history
  3. Matters of international law are not decided by religion. Tell that to the Muslim brothers in Egypt or the Ayatulas in Iran
  4. Ah yes, the Geneva conventions..... the ones that allow you to kill a person if he has two feet on the ground. But If he's in the air (parachute)...it would be a penalty, Nice games the Geneva conventions
  5. That is interesting..... Releasing murderers is legal but building settlements is not. I wonder which book of rules this is based on
  6. How do you think this would sound? "Israel criticized Washington for a recent move to expand it's city limits" Israel: “We do not accept the legitimacy of continued expansion of New-York city” :duh:
  7. :24: "senior military official" - must always make themselves heard or they just don't exist! Please mister "senior military official" - tell us something we don't know
  8. I agree with all five points. Sitting in my couch at home I can end it there but if I had to make decisions like our PM is supposed to, I would have a real hard time: Assuming all five points are true, should we quite the talks? Should we turn our back on the very slim chance of this opportunity actually working? Should we just ignore the Palestinians? The surrounding countries? The US? The world? My big question is, What does God want us to do in this situation....if anything?
  9. I hate saying this but facts are facts. Lets assume there is no such thing as Palestinian people. In the areas of Judea Samaria and Gaza there are anything between 2 to 4 million people, depending on who you read the polls from. We can call them what we like but they ARE there and unless they vanish in a puff of smoke, they will be there for a while at least. To be on the practical side of things. The fact is that whatever you call them, these people are a big number of people who do not recognize Israel's right to exist, right? We, strangely enough, believe we do have that right, as hard as it is for "them" to grasp that idea So, what should happen now? 1. Should we transfer all these people to....(where?) or in other words "get rid of them" - assuming the world would allow it 2. Should we take them in as Israeli citizens? 3. Should we take them in as a minority with less right (voting on Israeli issues and such)? 4. Should we give them a autonomous state of their own? 5. Should we treat them as an enemy and leave them under military rule? I would also like to add that from my experience, many of these people are not into the political game. All they want is to live and let live in a respectful way as we all do. They cannot voice their opinion for fear of death. Killing people in the middle East is an everyday thing. You see, it is very easy to through slogans as our politicians love doing especially when they are sitting comfortably in the opposition with no responsibility. The fact is, these people, whatever we feel like calling them, are there and I specifically didn't add the solution that "some" believe in. We are not like Achmedinejad or Hammas who "Love death as much as Jews love life" and will "wipe them off the face of the Earth" I don't believe God would have us be that way! So..... any practical suggestions?
  10. Surprised? I will be in shock if the opposite happens
  11. Because the world is practically twisting our arm to do so and we don't feel strong enough to stand against the whole world I guess that means we are lacking faith in HIM
  12. That is great! Just in time to catch the Iranian bomb
  13. To be sure we should be concerned always but I don't think the new revolution is going to inspire more terrorist attacks These attacks, if they are planned already, have nothing to do with this revolution The Egyptian army are showing a very adult approach to things and are doing there best to stop terrorists from taking over Sinai
  14. Thank you Gandalf Although we obviously disagree on the threads topic I must tell you something: My philosophy is that life is like skating in an ice rink. Life is about moving. On ice one needs friction to move. No friction. No movement. No life! It's views such as you present here, that supply plenty of friction for me and I just have to thank you for that Sounds nuts, I know, but I mean it OK.... bell just rang for the next round
  15. I must admit I get carried away at times, so if I have stepped on anyone's personal foot, I hereby apologize Good work, moderators. I am impressed with the way you are running this thread
  16. When everything is pre-decided as Abbas demands, the only thing the talks are good for is discussing the weather
  17. Did you talk to Palestinians in the West Bank, or Gaza.? Yes, I spent plenty of time in both Gaza and West bank in my time. When they are free to talk (which they are usually not) they come out with things I would never have thought But don't take my word for it, try it yourself Sounds like a plan. OK, now this makes sense even if you end up disagreeing with me/us.

  19. Those who do not wish to know will never admit facts. These facts ruin their POV to a degree they cannot cope with. There are few that admit they have been wrong/misled/misguided I was talking to Palestinians in Lebanon during the 2006 war and got more understanding from them than some here. They did not agree with my views but they sure understood. Strangely enough they attacked their own Yasser Arafat more than they attacked me. They are living right here and know what is going on as opposed to critics living in ivory towers. (that is a big HINT!) My suggestion to those who think we are the school bully.... Talk to Palestinians alone, no one around, just you two, who are not afraid to speak their minds. I have. You might be surprised. On second thoughts, why should you ruin a good POV?
  20. You seem to forget why the 6-day war was started Remember the Tiran straights? Remember Abdul-Nasser's blockade of the red sea? Taking things out of context seems to be the best policy for anyone who wants us out of here. Well, I am sorry but we are staying As for the Palestinians, they could have had a state ages ago, but no, they want everything or nothing. "Everything" is not going to happen and so they are left with nothing. We left Gaza and got thousands of rockets on our civilians. We left Lebanon and got Hizbollah on our borders. Should we leave the Golan heights now? Or maybe the west bank, that are a stone throw away from our main airport? 14th May 1948 we declared the state of Israel WITH THE BACKING of the UNITED NATIONS! Next day we were attacked by Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq. How do you fit that in the INTERNATIONAL LAW mentioned previously? We won that war against all those odds and that makes us the bully in the playground, right?! Tell me what YOU suggest, apart from us "going back to wherever we came from" as some "friends" tell us But.... who cares about facts these days, it's the rating that counts
  21. Under international law Iran does have that right; as do all sovereign nations. As we are into international law, what exactly does this law say about threatening to "wipe a country of the face of the Earth"?! It has absolutely nothing to say about silly and unachievable threats! And rightly not! Such threats belong in the school playground. Oh well in that case everything is alright :-) Thanks for putting me straight...... about your dreamworld

  23. May be you should come down from that ivory tower and live here with us under constant threats. I would like to hear your view on Christianity then Right now you are just being academic with no connection to reality At least Achmedinejad comes out with it openly while you hide behind mighty "christian" words and as a "Christian" reminder, God is also named the "Lord of Hosts" and was as such in practice. Read your Bible!
  24. Yes, Iran does have the right, ........... Thanks for your honesty. Too many people want "rights" to apply only in only one direction. Trouble is, it is not so simple when one is threatened daily to be anhialated A small example of actually having the right to attack: Someone is pointing a gun at my child and I have a gun with me I would shoot this person in order to save my child The big difference is internal: I would shoot this person for love of my child and NOT through hatred for this person That is the way I feel about Iran... as long as they threaten to "wipe us off the face of the planet" I would much rather "wipe" a good plate of Humus in Teheran than wipe out the Iranian army A Nuke is a pretty big threat, I would say As does Iran ................... of Israel! I don't get you, are you saying we should just sit around doing nothing while some maniacs threaten to "wipe us off the face of the Earth" with a nuke?! If it was you instead of me, what would you do? Countries went to war over much less than that
