  1. Wow! Yanks; it's amazing when the Lord calls us into a ministry, or gives us a certain gift, how everything just seems to come together. Nice to meet you, by the way, what is your other language? Umm... lol.. The name is Yarks by the way. Yeah I know what you mean.. if I look backward, I'm happy God gave me the opportunity to play music. It's great! Just love it when I play and at the same time pray, and looking at the people worhipping, trully enjoy God's presence. Awesome! And guess what, I just got a phone call yesterday.. someone I don't know who called me to play at his church. So far I've played at 2 different churches. With this it's gonna be 3 churches. I'm so excited. Hope Lord expands my ministry too.. would love to play in different kind of churches so I get to learn more. YAY!!!! It's nice to meet you too spiritman. My other language is Indonesian. Apa kabar? (That means "How are you") Yarks; Apa kabar?; sorry about the name thing, my wife keeps telling me I need glasses, must be my old age showing. we just celebrated my 45th the 25th of Feb. I think that what is happening to you concerning your ministry is wonderful; the Lord is blessing you. I have decided on sunday to go to that church and if that position is still available be that assistant Sunday school teacher, My study ways will be kinda strange to them since from what I have observed so far, they just read the surface text. I got kinda hurt there earlier in the year, when I showed the assistant pastor, about hebrew and greek study; you know what he did ?; instead of telling me right then and there that he didn't like the Hebrew and Greek study,( we were at his house at the time), he got up on the pul-pit, and said; " We don't need no Hebrew and Greek study around here". But; a couple of months later, while my dad was in the hospital, I was discussing with the main pastor about what was expected of an elder in the church; which by the way the assistant pastor did not fit, she liked what she heard, and that is when I got invited to do this. Well I'll let you go for now, I'm doing some studies. God Bless you. Bob Baik. Terima kasih. (Baik = fine / good. Terima kasih = Thank you) Heey BOB... so happy for you!! So it finally comes around! God is expanding your ministry too! You'll do great, I'm sure! 45 is not that old... you have YEEAARSSS ahead of you, so keep the young spirit in you alive!!! (Look who's talking and I'm only 30!) And Happy belated birthday!!

  3. We can't stop people from talking unless we tie them up and seal their mouth. But in this community, integrity is the foundation of the comments we make on every single things. I have a good quote to share with the people here: "Living what you say is at the heart of sincerity..." Don't make comments unless we know how to deal with it ourselves when we experience it.
  4. I'm a church musician. I play bass. God called me to serve in the music ministry when i was just about 15 years old and even didn't know how to play. Got to learn the drums at first, and then guitar, and here I am, playing bass.. the love of my life.. sort of. hehehehe. I'm also involved in our youth ministry, of course there I play music as well. Oh.. and I like to translate articles from English to my language, sending them out everywhere, and you know what, the translated articles have been put even in magazines.. trully a blessing
  5. I view neither. Our church is a small congregations, and we're like family to one another. We don't look other people as sinners. If they need help, we try to help them. And we don't think ourselves as pure saints either. Just a home for everyone who wants to come in.
  6. Christian teaching in my country does not allow Christians to have tatoos, cuz it ruins our body. Esp. when you're already a Christian and getting one.. it's totally not allowed. It's different when you were a non believer when you got it. But I wouldn't ruin my skin by getting a tatoo.. (and this is my personal opinion only)
  7. Thanks... This article also has blessed me tonight.
  8. Hi there... Today I read a story in my email inbox. Maybe this will help out. It's a great article. #5222 - "The Tapestry of Your Life" Ephesians 1:11 There are many kinds of artists. My Navajo friend, Martha, makes her masterpieces out of thread. She lives in a tiny, sparsely furnished house in a remot corner of the Navajo reservation. It hasn't been an easy life with eleven children and a husband who blew most of his meager income on alcohol. But she found a way to provide at least enough money for her family to eat. She weaves Navajo rugs. We've had the privilege of being there when she was working on one. She has a loom in her living rom where she works for hours on end, pulling thread from one side to the other. In some ways, it doesn't look like it has much promise; there's no pattern anywhere to be seen. It's all in her mind. But there's something beautiful in her mind that only she can see as she patiently weaves those threads back and forth. And when she's finished, she has produced a masterpiece for which a tourist will pay thousands of dollars in a nearby store. Martha will only get a fraction of that, but shame on anyone who ever questioned what she was doing on that loom. When I watched that Navajo woman weaving something beautiful from those seemingly random threads, I was looking at a picture of the ways of God, because He's the original Artist, and He only does masterpieces. He is, in a sense, the Master Weaver on the loom of your life. You can't see what He's making from the threads in front of you, but He can. And it's something beautiful - something valuable. His working is powerfully described in our word for today from the Word of God in Ephesians 1:11. As you listen, take this as a guarantee about your life. Speaking of those who belong to Jesus Christ, it says, "In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will." God is telling you that He has had a plan for your life since before there was a you. Like someone watching that Navajo mother weaving her rug, you can't see the plan. It's in the mind of the Artist. But you can be sure that He is weaving the tapestry you were made for. He's weaving it this very day - and every day. The threads you can see right now may be dark. Some of the threads don't seem to fit. But God is still at the loom, and all this is going somewhere. He's making something in your life. And no matter how random, even how senseless it all seems, you have His promise: "
